06:04 stopping you right there here name was never Bridgette that was a name the fans gave her since for the longest time Felix was said to be COMPLETELY scraped and not expected to see the light of a canon day. People still liked the gritty more teen concept of the PV and decided to take Felix as well as the old version of Marinette and rebrand her Bridgette effectively making her an oc. I think it was Thomas but I do remember a show runner confirming that the character was always just Marinette. To my knowledge as MLB is the first Zag project it was also easier on the budget but that lead to the issues with various studios. And as a side note this is speculation (high emphasis on speculation) but the reason why he was written back into the show was because the show runners started liking the sentimonster theory fans had come up with but couldn't have Adrian confront his father based on how they are planning to write his story with his parents. Also its been a hot minute for me watching the show. Aren't all the miracle boxes made in china originally? I could be remembering wrong but that's what I thought. 21:15 she does know it wasn't Adrian, she went to get the dog miraculous from him abs he was completely confused. He then vocally states Felix name which she can most likely hear standing 2ft away from him. And also the moment he says this the dog power is used and takes her yoyo leaving her in a panicked mode while Adrian tries to help calm her down (sort of)
I personally see Felix as on his own side like- not a supporter of ladybug but not exactly in favour of hawkmoth but taking anyone of those sides in different situations while keeping his identity with ladybug a secret from hawkmoth but also keeping his identity with hawkmoth a secret from ladybug
I think he pretty much is. U can tell from the few time he appeared that the only person he genuinely cares about is his mom. Any time he’s nice to someone else, it’s to get something out of it.
i love how adriens civilian design is almost entirely black while felixs mostly white, it really shows how opposite they are and reminds me of yin and yang
I personally like to imagine that OG Felix after his mom 'died' said "Damn, now I'm gonna re-write my entire personality to seem blander than a oyster cracker!" Then he gets the ring and becomes Chat Noir and went "Damn, now I have to re-write my entire personality again because otherwise everyone will know it's me because no one is this emotionless!"
Idk if this was intentional but I love how callimara's redesigned version of Adrien looks disciplined whereas his hero from looks wilder and more carefree and for Felix it's almost the opposite
Seeing this redesign of Félix makes me wish he had the Fox miraculous instead of the dog one imo. With his cunning personality, it wouldn’t be surprising that he had the fox one since he’s so sly yet charismatic with the way he carries himself in the show.
This Felix looks like THAT classmate who knew a ton of magic tricks we all had at one point of our school life They would annoy the hell out of the entire class but since they were so charming everybody was looking forward to be annoyed by them, even the teachers enjoyed their shenanigans
Can I just say, Felix went from an attractive calculating design to a geeky butler looking design, to now an attractive trickster design. This design is WAY better than I expected, and you can tell that he’s the opposite of Adrian because he wears white and smiles more as opposed to your design of him looking stoic and emotionless.
I honesty would have enjoyed MLB more if Felix was the main character instead of Adrien the reason being that I'm sure Felix and marrinette's personalities would have clashed more so they would have to work out their differences and understand each other better and I would have loved that, yes it would be frustrating at first because of how cold he would be but his character devolpment would have been something I would have liked to see. Also I'm not saying Adrien is bad in anyway I just don't vibe with him as much
Yeah I really wish they went with Felix for the main character like they planned for the 2D version. It would’ve been a really interesting character dynamic. Civilian Marinette is bubbly and a bit flirty with Civilian Felix, but he’s cold and brooding. But in hero form they’re reversed- Ladybug is cold and only focused on her hero responsibilities while Chat Noir is charismatic and flirty with her. In a sense, they both experience the best and worst of each other without realizing it. The regular Adrian and Marinette we have now aren’t really dynamic in any sense. They’re both awkward and shy, and the only difference they have is their family background. It makes a lot of their civilian interactions boring unless it involves one of them potentially discovering the other’s superhero identity (which has been done to death at this point). Felix would’ve been a more interesting contrast to Marinette’s character, and also opened up a lot more character development for both of them.
The problem is that Felix would be a genuinely awful secondary protagonist. Everything we know about him, as of so far, was that Felix was an unrepentant jerk and would have spent most of his time whining and complaining and the show would have to do a lot of leg work to make us *like* him. He'd be like Sasuke. And if I can compare you to Sasuke, that's a BAD thing. A very bad thing.
I would've liked if they were the same person. It would still be mostly Adrien, but further down the line Adrien starts loosing his faith in Lady bug, then he enters this dark phase and sort of acts like Felix, thoughts on this idea?
My head Cannon was that the Felix in the show actually cared about Adrian but was really frustrated with how accommodating and trusting he was, so he'd try to push Adrian's buttons and test the friendships of anyone that tried to get close to him.
Yeah that’s what I always thought as well, in Risk he actually gives Adrien advice to stand up to his father and live his own life. So to me I felt that while he was using Adrien, he does care for his cousin
@@BlueBlazeKing That would have been a great concept, since sometimes manipulation can even be with someone you love and without realizing it, or do it with intention but still care and love them. And it is a much more difficult manipulation to detect, because by caring about them and genuinely loving them it is easy to ignore the manipulation or, sometimes, you don't notice it at all. It would have been an interesting concept to see with both of them, it's a shame we'll never get it due to the creator.
I'm kinda sad the 2d animation was scrapped, I think it's unique and expressive and Marinette looks absolutely adorable. I have nothing against the 3d animation team, I know their job is really hard, I just think the 2d animation looks fantastic
Yeah, they could've just left the dots on the yoyo (and probably the mask too since they don't really need that many dots.) And change the suit only, since it's pretty plain and looks like much effort wasn't put into it.
About design: I like how the civil look is sleek and casual at the same time. Shading give the hair and vest gold and silver look. I think that making Felix a dog and Adrien a cat is more interesting and subverts expectations. It also can act as a disguise - after all, Felix want to appear faithful to Marinette and is somewhat a wolf in sheep's skin (or rather wolf in guardian dog's skin). I was afraid that the dog costume would give a bit of fetish gear vibe, but you manage to make it look great and really military looking. The face mask is better than eye mask in two ways: Felix actually looks like a dog, while in eyemask I thought he is supposed to be a ginger cat, and soilders usually cover mouth and nose rather than eyes, which adds to military look. Also the smell recognition thing.
Another reason, in my opinion, the 2-D animated short looks really looks good is because it’s done by Toei, Toei’s catalog of amazing animated works is astounding. Amazing work on your redesign as always!
Am I the only one who wants to see Lila schmoozing up to Felix and him being like: "Nu-uh nope. I hate this girl so much." Because I feel like he would *despise* her. He may be a jerk. But he at least can see right through someone's crap.
5:59 In fact, her name has always been Marinete but fans call her Bridghet because she ended up changing a lot and it's easier to distinguish PV Marinete and Current Marinete with different names, or at least that's what people say when you talk about Bridghet and when you search about her, this name fits more with her style and that's why we prefer to call her by that.

i do actually like the dog-cat thing. Because usually when we have this dynamic, it's 'cats = evil, dog = good'. By turning it around, it's a bit of a fresh breath of air honestly. They way you drew his powered up form, gets across how menacing some dogs can be (i was 'bitten'* by one as a child and that shook me up, and lead me to be scared of the puppy we got). * I say bitten, but i wasnt really. The dog in question would never _actually_ hurt me.
I really like that the "dog" is the villain now. But i think the characters suit eachothers animals better. It would be cool to have a hero with Felix's personality and a villain with Adrian's (Not exactly tho, but someone that like Adrian is loveble by everyone but hides something big). I don't know, it just seems sometimes that Felix would be better as a protagonist because he's more interesting. LB and CN could have a Jude Hopps and Nick Wild kind of relationship, it would be something deeper, like he would probabaly still do the same sacrifices but his attitude would be hard to deal with. This could help both of them to be better characters. As LB would learn to be more compassionate with him, trying to understand that they were a THEY his her PARTNER and he is trying to act as what he wants to be. Not the perfect boy or the ahole. Just him. (I just wrote a whole bible sorry. And i hope i wrote it right i just started to say that i know english so i'm not that confident)
finally, someone brings up the fact that the whole Adrian and Felix twin thing, cause like when I first saw Felix and his mom walked in I thought, "O, Gabrial got confused realized it and got his wife pregnant after getting his wife's sister pregnant accidentally." also I love your design way better than the original, like normal. 11:48 imo the Chinese Miracle box being used in France wouldn't give off "colonist" vibes if the show leaned more heavily into Marinette's actual Chinese ancestry by...idk... _actually_ fleshing out Marinette's relationship with Master Fu to properly emphasise the Chinese roots they are both connected to and, through that connection, allowing their relationship to naturally reach a point where Fu has imparted enough knowledge onto the French-Chinese decended Marinette that he truly believes she could understand and care for the Miraculous/Miracle Box in the traditional (or even improved and modern) ways despite being still being confident in herself as a citizen of a country that the box itself did not originate from. It's not a race issue, it's just another poor writing/missed opportunity issue :/ (edited for spelling because my phone is a dumb)

21:00 it’s not that Marinette thought that Adrien betrayed her. When Adrien said Felix, she was shocked. She knows that Felix can dress up like Adrien. The reason she gave Felix the miraculous is both that she thought Felix was Adrien and because he hadn’t been affected by risk. She knew right when Felix tried to kiss her without her consent that it wasn’t Adrien and he said “that’s right it’s Felix”
Even though it's cliché, I could imagine that Félix gets close to Marinette first to manipulate her, then because he's intrigued by her and then realizing he fell for her, finally making Adrien more aware of his feelings towards her and get confusion going about who he likes and why they're so similar - then Félix finds out about Marinette being Ladybug and he's thrown off because he and Ladybug are on opposite sides, even if he's not on hawk-moths side.
It would be neat if he had some sort of military background or something involving secret intelligence. Having a background in something like that could be intreating to have some more background to his abilities. Nothing like he was in the military (he is still a child) but something small like he has been trained or something
The shocking part is that ladybug and cat noir had 100 seasons to find hawkmoth miraculous while it only took Felix and Lila few to both find and manipulate hawkmoth
Felix was the real one, while Adrian was wimpy and clueless, Felix was smart and knows how to turn the tables from him to his enemy, that's why i was so bummed out when i found out in the original version of mlb he was Supposed to be the male lead, waste of potential tbh. If they kept Felix as the male lead he would've ended up the same way as Adrien/Cat Noir. Always the butt of the joke and is often an afterthought in the plot.
How is it that you have been able to single-handedly make this show significantly better, and the designs just feel like something out of a Marvel movie in this series rather than what a high-budget TV show has done in 5-6 years?! This is incredible, and won't lie - Felix's new design as a civilian and as a superhero got me weak in the knees. Literally! In all seriousness, watching your re-design and rewrites videos has inspired me again. And totally agree with you about the show as of late, that it just has too much insanity going on that you can't really feel the natural progression of the show and feel like things are happening. And how it contradicts itself so much to try and appeal to too many points. I am still watching it more to see where this story goes, but I am certainly not as excited to watch as I once was and look for other shows to fill that void. Still, these videos help so much! I’m gonna be a nerd and just say it: It is highly likely that Felix and Adrien can look “identical” since they are related by blood. Not only that but their moms ARE identical twin sisters so the likelihood of them looking the same is in the realm of possibility. For example in the European court back when that crap mattered one of the King Henry’s and the Czar of Russia (whom were both cousins cause incest is strong) actually looked near identical because of their close family ties. Plus in my own family my aunt and her daughter are literally identical (one is just darker than the other). No, joke, my cousin looks exactly like my aunt and has since she was a kid it’s the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen. So yeah, them looking identical because they both have the Twin sisters’ male counterpart look is possible. All it is is the dominant genes taking over. Anyway! Personally, even if it’s possible I just don’t like it. I’m not a fan of evil twin thing. Plus, since I knew beforehand that Adrien originally was Felix in the creation of the show-I’ve always been into animation and I actually followed the news of this new show before it aired and saw the original 2D teaser that was dropped on TH-cam-it was just so strange. I guess it didn’t help that I liked the original concept of Adrien better-basically I liked that Adrien/Felix seemed more intelligent back then and that he didn’t put up with Marinette/Bridgette’s girl-crazy love-he literally just walks away from her when she’s acting silly. I will say I didn’t like Felix 100%, basically I think he probably was too cold-the being a complete loner thing was too much. But, I think they should have kept his maybe kind of cold response to Marinette/Bridgette-and explained that later in the series as he opens up as him not being interested because she didn’t know him and because she was being a scary fan girl. And that he was more interested in making friends and investigating his mother’s disappearance. I really think Adrien could have been the intelligent, serious storyline that sucks everyone in. And I can totally see how eventually both Marinette and him would fall in love with each other over time. Because as Marinette learns more about the world around her and his story she would understand him better. Right now as it is, I just don’t personally think Marinette really knows Adrien and likes him for who he really is. I think she just likes his “perfect” behavior and appearance. And basically they could have Adrien being more serious because his normal life is mysterious (his dad) and sad (has no experience of normal high school life with friends at the beginning). But, when he gets the miraculous and meets Ladybug who he sees as a serious heroine-not a silly lovestruck simpleton, he can be happy and open. I dunno, maybe it still wouldn’t work, but that’s my thoughts.
And personally I think that this concept would have worked for the protagonist, Marinette, as well. Because we would likely still see the story from her point of view first. So, some of the audience could be duped a bit into believing that Adrien is just a mean snob, since he rejects Marinette. But, then, later on as things get more serious and we learn more we realize he wasn’t a mean snob-not that he’s flawless, but that he had his reasons. And basically you could easily have both characters be partly correct. Marinette would be right in the sense that he shouldn’t have rejected her so coldly, but Adrien would be right that she wasn’t really in love with him and over the top. It’d lead to some nice banter between them too that they eventually work through when they realize they were wrong to assume the worst of the other. So, basically it would lead to both characters improving and growth but also make them closer and both look good in the long run. It would reinforce the yin and Yang too-two opposite sides (her being bubbly, cheerful and friendly and him being a bit cold, sad and reserved) but both ultimately of the same coin-both being part of the good guys.
I would honestly be too invested into your version of the show. it sounds so much more engaging and rich in both plot and character (which I guess was the entire point but still) the effort you put into this is beautiful. (also happy b-day)

What people often call kid’s media is actually family media. Kid’s media is media like pocoyo, the teletubbies, Dora the explorer, etc. Things to keep tots entertained and sometimes teach them stuff. In Mexico we have different classifications for media. AA is kids media, A is family media, B15/B13 is mid teens media, B is old teens and adult media and C is the equivalent of an M or R rating.
My theory for his wanting the peacock miraculous is based on the idea that he and Adrien are sentimonsters. He wants to have the peacock in order to ensure he has entire control of himself. As for whether he wants to free Adrien or control him too, well… who knows really. Thats the part im excited for

My only issue is with the dog miraculous design, that’s obviously the miraculous as Felix, not felix as adrien. Maybe he originally has a more adrien design (but like cat walker) then later when it’s revealed that it’s Felix he changes. Or this would of been a hint to ladybug that it wasn’t adrien, but being an amazing actor it would make sense to go with the first one, and imagine the transformation scene between adrien as the dog to Felix the dog owner.
I really like Felix’s miraculized (idk what it’s called)redesign! Like the one on the left looks great, but the miraculized one? I’m kinda obsessed now! If callimara’s rewrite was an actual show, the villain I’d be obsessed with watching will definitely be Felix! Just look at his design!
Honestly, I actually like the 2D art style. I find it more entertaining personally. Dynamic and fun. I also think the very edgy lines are interesting. Also, so much more emotion can be displayed without it looking--awkward?
This prompted me to look up the PV, and I'm almost in tears over the fact that this version of miraculous never saw the light of day. It could have been the coolest thing ever, especially with how popular anime and anime-like styles are everywhere now. And even as a kid in 2015, I would have adored this series. (Love your redesign btw!!
I still would love a 2D animation of Miraculous because looking at that three minute video, the stakes always seemed more devastating than what we have in the show now. It felt like there wasn't a rinse repeat for each episode, and would have caused for a continuation. I must say that your design for his dog miraculous is much more rugged than many of the designs that I have seen. It really works for the type of archetype I feel Felix is.
See, the real ladybug was originally named Marinette. But as to not confuse the Miraculous fandom when the 3d version came along we changed the anime Marinette's name to Bridgette. Erm... You can ignore my comment if you wish to.
Quick question: How do you see the relationship between Felix/Flermitable and Lila/Volpina? There are a lot of routes you could take from them having a simple coworker-type relationship to them being like siblings to them having a rivarly and only being able to tolerate each other due to Hawk Moth demanding it. I would really love to learn what your view of their dynamic is.
I have a similar idea that could still work for having the horse miraculous still have the same abilities, yes it can create portals but let's diverse it from the normal setup of portals, to play into the fact that it is based on the travel. While the concept is very straightforward. It's also slightly comforted, basically the horse miraculous need to place two portals, within the range that it can touch. Incorporating the miraculous weapon which is a horseshoe/boomerang, my idea is that both the dog and horse miraculous have similar abilities, but the dogs just teleport any object of the balls touch, as a one-way solution, it's harder for the dog to get back to a location, good for rescuing allies, but hard for them to travel. Meanwhile, the horse has the ability to transport self by having the boomerang create a portal to one location, and you touching another location allows you to teleport to different locations. If not because I'm a big fan of speedster battles okay! Also, i.e., have a great suggestion for solving the snake miraculous(and considering I'm not big fan of snakes, it's a really weird idea that gives it similar to the effect of still being similar to the bunny miraculous, but makes more sense narratively for the character. Also, it's more dark.) Let me know a comment if you want to hear the idea! Also congratulations on your on your patriotic!
@@whatever5401 well at starting level it removes basic physical damage by peeling away the old damage and creating fresh new healed skin and sometimes muscle tissue. Then if you get gradually better and stronger with it you can do better things with the healing process like repair muscles skin tissue etc. That said you start have to use fusions and if you want to do something crazy like make sure you're immortal, like for example combining the cat miraculous with with snake in order to gain the nine lives feature. Technically you can do it for more than 9 lives but it's recommended only 9 because it gets a little psychological trauma but when you've died more than nine times in a row.
Fun fact: PV ladybug was never named Bridgette, she was always Marinette. Bridgette was a name that the fandom gave PV Ladybug to differentiate her from Cartoon Ladybug, but she was always Marinette

I loved your redesign, as always!!! 21:16 just wanted to point out that Marinette actually knows she gave Felix the dog miraculous, that was the reason why she got so scared and had a panic Atack at the end, since she knows Felix and knew what he was capable to do (and also adrien was right in front of her at the moment she lost her yo-yo lol) And also, with the whole sentimonster thing, I think that actually makes sense for them to be so identical, since if they’re both sentimonsters, they both weren’t biologically created (maybe that was a foreshadow since the beginning to make the audience question why they looked so alike even when they’re not twins, or maybe I’m just trying to explain something that happened only because reusing a character model was cheaper Lol, who knows? Maybe both) And also, for me at least the dog and horse miraculous are really different, since one can transport the holder to the place they want (but they >need< to know what place it is), and the other only transports an object, without the need of knowing where it is but with the need of touching it (I get why you think they’re similar, but I don’t really think one power could replace another, different from bunny and snake or bunny and horse for example, where one does the same that the other but better), but I really liked the alterations you made on the power!

I would have loved to see the show use the other miraculous in a different way, like they were lost at some point so the holders (minus cat and ladybug) we're unknown and just showed up spur of the moment. Or have Hawkmoth hold all of them but the big 5 and he gives them to people to fight lady bug of chat noir

Your miraculous rewrite designs have been such a treat for me to watch. I like how you went with a muzzle for the redesign, it looks pretty cool and enhances the character. I'm not sure how I feel about the OG dog miraculous design, I get cuddly puppy vibes from it which I don't think mesh well with Felix's intentions or persona. But the german shepherd look gives him more of an edge.
I personally found the switch from 2D to 3D as wasted potential. It was so vibrant, lively, and expressive. The 3D reminded me of the uncanny feeling I got from watching stuff like Upin & Ipin back in the day. (before modern animation improvements)
I think Felix should be Adrien’s identical twin but was sent away to boarding school in London but later returns home and goes to the same school with Adrien Making more sense for him to join hawk moth While Felix tries to help hawk moth Adrien declines to help knowing it won’t solve anything which is why he was chosen to Wield the cat miraculous for mature choice

21:00 I think that Marinette learned about him being the "fake" Adrie at the end of Strike Back because when she went to take back the dog miraculous from Adrien he claimed that he didn't understand what she was talking about and then it hit him that Felix must've been behind this. So ladybug found out about him and that he was a fake
His redesign looks amazing! I can really see him talking to ladybug/marinette with a coy smile, especially when transformed, and her eating it right up. Him being more cat like while adrien is more like some puppy is such a fun thing too, and I’d like to think there was a moment of confusion amongst Frances heroes as they originally think cat noir changed his miraculous
In all honesty I need a fic or a comic of this miraculous ladybug au/rewrite this is *way* better than the original and I really don't have any high hopes for Tom he ain't cutting it for me any more

LB has always been Marinette. Bridgette is just the name the fans gave the PV version to distinguish her from the 3D version but it's always been the same character. Only Chat was changed. Love the video and takes tho! Super super cool!
On the topic of dogs, I was traumatized by my neighbors/cousins German Shepard, Eagan, when I was 5-6, he chased me down the stairs and tried to bite me(luckily my older cousin was there) so I had a fear of dogs especially German Shepards but as I got older we started getting aspins/askals(Filipino "street" dogs) so I started warming up to them and I finally pet a dog 4 or 3 years after the incident and now I absolutely love and adore dogs! I needed to share this cause I never told anyone other than my brother so everyone just thought I was just afraid of 'em for no reason

06:04 stopping you right there here name was never Bridgette that was a name the fans gave her since for the longest time Felix was said to be COMPLETELY scraped and not expected to see the light of a canon day. People still liked the gritty more teen concept of the PV and decided to take Felix as well as the old version of Marinette and rebrand her Bridgette effectively making her an oc. I think it was Thomas but I do remember a show runner confirming that the character was always just Marinette.
To my knowledge as MLB is the first Zag project it was also easier on the budget but that lead to the issues with various studios.
And as a side note this is speculation (high emphasis on speculation) but the reason why he was written back into the show was because the show runners started liking the sentimonster theory fans had come up with but couldn't have Adrian confront his father based on how they are planning to write his story with his parents.
Also its been a hot minute for me watching the show. Aren't all the miracle boxes made in china originally? I could be remembering wrong but that's what I thought.

Can I just say, Felix went from an attractive calculating design to a geeky butler looking design, to now an attractive trickster design. This design is WAY better than I expected, and you can tell that he’s the opposite of Adrian because he wears white and smiles more as opposed to your design of him looking stoic and emotionless.
I honesty would have enjoyed MLB more if Felix was the main character instead of Adrien the reason being that I'm sure Felix and marrinette's personalities would have clashed more so they would have to work out their differences and understand each other better and I would have loved that, yes it would be frustrating at first because of how cold he would be but his character devolpment would have been something I would have liked to see. Also I'm not saying Adrien is bad in anyway I just don't vibe with him as much
Yeah I really wish they went with Felix for the main character like they planned for the 2D version. It would’ve been a really interesting character dynamic. Civilian Marinette is bubbly and a bit flirty with Civilian Felix, but he’s cold and brooding. But in hero form they’re reversed- Ladybug is cold and only focused on her hero responsibilities while Chat Noir is charismatic and flirty with her. In a sense, they both experience the best and worst of each other without realizing it.
The regular Adrian and Marinette we have now aren’t really dynamic in any sense. They’re both awkward and shy, and the only difference they have is their family background. It makes a lot of their civilian interactions boring unless it involves one of them potentially discovering the other’s superhero identity (which has been done to death at this point). Felix would’ve been a more interesting contrast to Marinette’s character, and also opened up a lot more character development for both of them.

The problem is that Felix would be a genuinely awful secondary protagonist. Everything we know about him, as of so far, was that Felix was an unrepentant jerk and would have spent most of his time whining and complaining and the show would have to do a lot of leg work to make us *like* him.

Yeah that’s what I always thought as well, in Risk he actually gives Adrien advice to stand up to his father and live his own life. So to me I felt that while he was using Adrien, he does care for his cousin

Yeah, they could've just left the dots on the yoyo (and probably the mask too since they don't really need that many dots.) And change the suit only, since it's pretty plain and looks like much effort wasn't put into it.
About design: I like how the civil look is sleek and casual at the same time. Shading give the hair and vest gold and silver look.
I think that making Felix a dog and Adrien a cat is more interesting and subverts expectations. It also can act as a disguise - after all, Felix want to appear faithful to Marinette and is somewhat a wolf in sheep's skin (or rather wolf in guardian dog's skin).
I was afraid that the dog costume would give a bit of fetish gear vibe, but you manage to make it look great and really military looking. The face mask is better than eye mask in two ways: Felix actually looks like a dog, while in eyemask I thought he is supposed to be a ginger cat, and soilders usually cover mouth and nose rather than eyes, which adds to military look. Also the smell recognition thing.

Because usually when we have this dynamic, it's 'cats = evil, dog = good'. By turning it around, it's a bit of a fresh breath of air honestly. They way you drew his powered up form, gets across how menacing some dogs can be (i was 'bitten'* by one as a child and that shook me up, and lead me to be scared of the puppy we got).
* I say bitten, but i wasnt really. The dog in question would never _actually_ hurt me.
I really like that the "dog" is the villain now. But i think the characters suit eachothers animals better. It would be cool to have a hero with Felix's personality and a villain with Adrian's (Not exactly tho, but someone that like Adrian is loveble by everyone but hides something big). I don't know, it just seems sometimes that Felix would be better as a protagonist because he's more interesting. LB and CN could have a Jude Hopps and Nick Wild kind of relationship, it would be something deeper, like he would probabaly still do the same sacrifices but his attitude would be hard to deal with. This could help both of them to be better characters. As LB would learn to be more compassionate with him, trying to understand that they were a THEY his her PARTNER and he is trying to act as what he wants to be. Not the perfect boy or the ahole. Just him. (I just wrote a whole bible sorry. And i hope i wrote it right i just started to say that i know english so i'm not that confident)

11:48 imo the Chinese Miracle box being used in France wouldn't give off "colonist" vibes if the show leaned more heavily into Marinette's actual Chinese ancestry by...idk... _actually_ fleshing out Marinette's relationship with Master Fu to properly emphasise the Chinese roots they are both connected to and, through that connection, allowing their relationship to naturally reach a point where Fu has imparted enough knowledge onto the French-Chinese decended Marinette that he truly believes she could understand and care for the Miraculous/Miracle Box in the traditional (or even improved and modern) ways despite being still being confident in herself as a citizen of a country that the box itself did not originate from.
It's not a race issue, it's just another poor writing/missed opportunity issue :/

21:00 it’s not that Marinette thought that Adrien betrayed her. When Adrien said Felix, she was shocked. She knows that Felix can dress up like Adrien. The reason she gave Felix the miraculous is both that she thought Felix was Adrien and because he hadn’t been affected by risk. She knew right when Felix tried to kiss her without her consent that it wasn’t Adrien and he said “that’s right it’s Felix”
Also, she was literally with Adrien asking for the dog miraculous back when Felix "fetched" her yoyo! So she definitely knew it wasn't Adrien.
Yup. Marinette gave the dog miraculous to Felix cause she thought it was Adrien. But she figured it out by the end of the episode
Even though it's cliché, I could imagine that Félix gets close to Marinette first to manipulate her, then because he's intrigued by her and then realizing he fell for her, finally making Adrien more aware of his feelings towards her and get confusion going about who he likes and why they're so similar - then Félix finds out about Marinette being Ladybug and he's thrown off because he and Ladybug are on opposite sides, even if he's not on hawk-moths side.
I LOVE that. I would watch the heck out of that and I'm not going to lie, I would ship Felix and Marinette more than Adrien and Marinette

How is it that you have been able to single-handedly make this show significantly better, and the designs just feel like something out of a Marvel movie in this series rather than what a high-budget TV show has done in 5-6 years?! This is incredible, and won't lie - Felix's new design as a civilian and as a superhero got me weak in the knees. Literally!
In all seriousness, watching your re-design and rewrites videos has inspired me again. And totally agree with you about the show as of late, that it just has too much insanity going on that you can't really feel the natural progression of the show and feel like things are happening. And how it contradicts itself so much to try and appeal to too many points. I am still watching it more to see where this story goes, but I am certainly not as excited to watch as I once was and look for other shows to fill that void.

I’m gonna be a nerd and just say it: It is highly likely that Felix and Adrien can look “identical” since they are related by blood. Not only that but their moms ARE identical twin sisters so the likelihood of them looking the same is in the realm of possibility. For example in the European court back when that crap mattered one of the King Henry’s and the Czar of Russia (whom were both cousins cause incest is strong) actually looked near identical because of their close family ties. Plus in my own family my aunt and her daughter are literally identical (one is just darker than the other). No, joke, my cousin looks exactly like my aunt and has since she was a kid it’s the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen. So yeah, them looking identical because they both have the Twin sisters’ male counterpart look is possible. All it is is the dominant genes taking over.
Anyway! I love your remake of Felix and I am loving his dog outfit. It’s gotta be my favorite “hero” outfit so far from you. Keep it up this is amazing! And happy birthday, I hope it’s going well!

Personally, even if it’s possible I just don’t like it. I’m not a fan of evil twin thing. Plus, since I knew beforehand that Adrien originally was Felix in the creation of the show-I’ve always been into animation and I actually followed the news of this new show before it aired and saw the original 2D teaser that was dropped on TH-cam-it was just so strange.
I guess it didn’t help that I liked the original concept of Adrien better-basically I liked that Adrien/Felix seemed more intelligent back then and that he didn’t put up with Marinette/Bridgette’s girl-crazy love-he literally just walks away from her when she’s acting silly.
I will say I didn’t like Felix 100%, basically I think he probably was too cold-the being a complete loner thing was too much. But, I think they should have kept his maybe kind of cold response to Marinette/Bridgette-and explained that later in the series as he opens up as him not being interested because she didn’t know him and because she was being a scary fan girl. And that he was more interested in making friends and investigating his mother’s disappearance.
I really think Adrien could have been the intelligent, serious storyline that sucks everyone in. And I can totally see how eventually both Marinette and him would fall in love with each other over time. Because as Marinette learns more about the world around her and his story she would understand him better.
Right now as it is, I just don’t personally think Marinette really knows Adrien and likes him for who he really is. I think she just likes his “perfect” behavior and appearance.
And basically they could have Adrien being more serious because his normal life is mysterious (his dad) and sad (has no experience of normal high school life with friends at the beginning). But, when he gets the miraculous and meets Ladybug who he sees as a serious heroine-not a silly lovestruck simpleton, he can be happy and open.
I dunno, maybe it still wouldn’t work, but that’s my thoughts.
And personally I think that this concept would have worked for the protagonist, Marinette, as well. Because we would likely still see the story from her point of view first. So, some of the audience could be duped a bit into believing that Adrien is just a mean snob, since he rejects Marinette. But, then, later on as things get more serious and we learn more we realize he wasn’t a mean snob-not that he’s flawless, but that he had his reasons.
And basically you could easily have both characters be partly correct. Marinette would be right in the sense that he shouldn’t have rejected her so coldly, but Adrien would be right that she wasn’t really in love with him and over the top.
It’d lead to some nice banter between them too that they eventually work through when they realize they were wrong to assume the worst of the other.
So, basically it would lead to both characters improving and growth but also make them closer and both look good in the long run.
It would reinforce the yin and Yang too-two opposite sides (her being bubbly, cheerful and friendly and him being a bit cold, sad and reserved) but both ultimately of the same coin-both being part of the good guys.

My theory for his wanting the peacock miraculous is based on the idea that he and Adrien are sentimonsters. He wants to have the peacock in order to ensure he has entire control of himself. My only issue is with the dog miraculous design, that’s obviously the miraculous as Felix, not felix as adrien.
Maybe he originally has a more adrien design (but like cat walker) then later when it’s revealed that it’s Felix he changes. Or this would of been a hint to ladybug that it wasn’t adrien, but being an amazing actor it would make sense to go with the first one, and imagine the transformation scene between adrien as the dog to Felix the dog owner.
I really like Felix’s miraculized (idk what it’s called)redesign! Like the one on the left looks great, but the miraculized one? I’m kinda obsessed now! If callimara’s rewrite was an actual show, the villain I’d be obsessed with watching will definitely be Felix! Just look at his design!
Honestly, I actually like the 2D art style. I find it more entertaining personally. Dynamic and fun. I also think the very edgy lines are interesting. Also, so much more emotion can be displayed without it looking--awkward?

This prompted me to look up the PV, and I'm almost in tears over the fact that this version of miraculous never saw the light of day. It could have been the coolest thing ever, especially with how popular anime and anime-like styles are everywhere now. And even as a kid in 2015, I would have adored this series.

I still would love a 2D animation of Miraculous because looking at that three minute video, the stakes always seemed more devastating than what we have in the show now. It felt like there wasn't a rinse repeat for each episode, and would have caused for a continuation. I must say that your design for his dog miraculous is much more rugged than many of the designs that I have seen. It really works for the type of archetype I feel Felix is.

See, the real ladybug was originally named Marinette. But as to not confuse the Miraculous fandom when the 3d version came along we changed the anime Marinette's name to Bridgette.

Quick question: How do you see the relationship between Felix/Flermitable and Lila/Volpina? There are a lot of routes you could take from them having a simple coworker-type relationship to them being like siblings to them having a rivarly and only being able to tolerate each other due to Hawk Moth demanding it. I would really love to learn what your view of their dynamic is.
I would love to see them hating each other's guts. Not necesarilly like rivals but personality wise. It would be amazing

I have a similar idea that could still work for having the horse miraculous still have the same abilities, yes it can create portals but let's diverse it from the normal setup of portals, to play into the fact that it is based on the travel. While the concept is very straightforward. It's also slightly comforted, basically the horse miraculous need to place two portals, within the range that it can touch. Incorporating the miraculous weapon which is a horseshoe/boomerang, my idea is that both the dog and horse miraculous have similar abilities, but the dogs just teleport any object of the balls touch, as a one-way solution, it's harder for the dog to get back to a location, good for rescuing allies, but hard for them to travel. Meanwhile, the horse has the ability to transport self by having the boomerang create a portal to one location, and you touching another location allows you to teleport to different locations. If not because I'm a big fan of speedster battles okay! Also, i.e., have a great suggestion for solving the snake miraculous(and considering I'm not big fan of snakes, it's a really weird idea that gives it similar to the effect of still being similar to the bunny miraculous, but makes more sense narratively for the character. Also, it's more dark.)

@@whatever5401 well at starting level it removes basic physical damage by peeling away the old damage and creating fresh new healed skin and sometimes muscle tissue. Then if you get gradually better and stronger with it you can do better things with the healing process like repair muscles skin tissue etc. That said you start have to use fusions and if you want to do something crazy like make sure you're immortal, like for example combining the cat miraculous with with snake in order to gain the nine lives feature. Technically you can do it for more than 9 lives but it's recommended only 9 because it gets a little psychological trauma but when you've died more than nine times in a row.
Fun fact: PV ladybug was never named Bridgette, she was always Marinette. Bridgette was a name that the fandom gave PV Ladybug to differentiate her from Cartoon Ladybug, but she was always Marinette

21:16 just wanted to point out that Marinette actually knows she gave Felix the dog miraculous, that was the reason why she got so scared and had a panic Atack at the end, since she knows Felix and knew what he was capable to do (and also adrien was right in front of her at the moment she lost her yo-yo lol)
And also, with the whole sentimonster thing, I think that actually makes sense for them to be so identical, since if they’re both sentimonsters, they both weren’t biologically created (maybe that was a foreshadow since the beginning to make the audience question why they looked so alike even when they’re not twins, or maybe I’m just trying to explain something that happened only because reusing a character model was cheaper Lol, who knows? Maybe both)
And also, for me at least the dog and horse miraculous are really different, since one can transport the holder to the place they want (but they >need< to know what place it is), and the other only transports an object, without the need of knowing where it is but with the need of touching it (I get why you think they’re similar, but I don’t really think one power could replace another, different from bunny and snake or bunny and horse for example, where one does the same that the other but better), but I really liked the alterations you made on the power!

I would have loved to see the show use the other miraculous in a different way, like they were lost at some point so the holders (minus cat and ladybug) we're unknown and just showed up spur of the moment. Or have Hawkmoth hold all of them but the big 5 and he gives them to people to fight lady bug of chat noir
boy have i got news for you! /lh nah but that is what we’re expecting for season five, almost all of the episodes are named after the miraculous (s5e1 for eg is named evolution and from the trailer, will focus on -hawkmoth- monarch using the rabbit miraculous/the miraculous of evolution)
Your miraculous rewrite designs have been such a treat for me to watch. I like how you went with a muzzle for the redesign, it looks pretty cool and enhances the character. I'm not sure how I feel about the OG dog miraculous design, I get cuddly puppy vibes from it which I don't think mesh well with Felix's intentions or persona. But the german shepherd look gives him more of an edge.
As someone who doesn't watch anime, I still think the original style was much more effective. Loved your design!
I personally found the switch from 2D to 3D as wasted potential. It was so vibrant, lively, and expressive. The 3D reminded me of the uncanny feeling I got from watching stuff like Upin & Ipin back in the day. (before modern animation improvements)
I think Felix should be Adrien’s identical twin but was sent away to boarding school in London but later returns home and goes to the same school with Adrien

While Felix tries to help hawk moth Adrien declines to help knowing it won’t solve anything which is why he was chosen to Wield the cat miraculous for mature choice

21:00 I think that Marinette learned about him being the "fake" Adrie at the end of Strike Back because when she went to take back the dog miraculous from Adrien he claimed that he didn't understand what she was talking about and then it hit him that Felix must've been behind this. So ladybug found out about him and that he was a fake
His redesign looks amazing! I can really see him talking to ladybug/marinette with a coy smile, especially when transformed, and her eating it right up. Him being more cat like while adrien is more like some puppy is such a fun thing too, and I’d like to think there was a moment of confusion amongst Frances heroes as they originally think cat noir changed his miraculous

LB has always been Marinette. Bridgette is just the name the fans gave the PV version to distinguish her from the 3D version but it's always been the same character. Only Chat was changed. Love the video and takes tho! Super super cool!
On the topic of dogs, I was traumatized by my neighbors/cousins German Shepard, Eagan, when I was 5-6, he chased me down the stairs and tried to bite me(luckily my older cousin was there) so I had a fear of dogs especially German Shepards but as I got older we started getting aspins/askals(Filipino "street" dogs) so I started warming up to them and I finally pet a dog 4 or 3 years after the incident and now I absolutely love and adore dogs!
I needed to share this cause I never told anyone other than my brother so everyone just thought I was just afraid of 'em for no reason

I really like that Lila and Felix are unafraid of a good tactical retreat.
I like the fact that I can picture Felix incorporating teleportation in his fighting style but I am curious at the is it just how far he can throw the ball or is it any where he wants cause if that’s the case what’s stopping him from sending someone to space (tho I guess if he does that they’ll lose the miraculous)
