I love the twist that the Riddler didn’t actually know Batman was Bruce Wayne. He left the note for Batman at the Wayne bombing because he knew Batman was working with the cops at the crime scenes and would be there after Bruce Wayne was blown up. A great twist when we realize Riddler doesn’t know Batman and Bruce are the same person.
It’s great writing. That’s why i hate when the media gaslights criticism to Rings of Power and She-Hulk. Audiences want to love these adaptions but lately it’s been shit.
Riddler doesn't know Batman is Bruce; he thought he could kill Wayne with the bomb at the tower and still have the fireproof envelope and the one in the bat cage in the flat delivered to Batman, he describes Bruce as "the only one we didn't get" and also compliments Batman's outfit and expresses how he was inspired by him while also expressing resentment for Wayne during the interrogation.
In my opinion Riddler does know Bruce is Batman, going by the way he says his name and the many messages and pictures in his apartment. But also because why would he reveal the answer to the biggest riddle in Gotham? It would render that knowledge obsolete, this would be taken straight from a comic if this was the case.
@@c6083 An interesting point for sure but I don't think he'd be so nice to Batman in Arkham if he really knew that. He hates Bruce, and his dad, and Renewal, and he truly believed Batman was helping him expose Gotham's corruption/revealing Renewal as a lie before Bruce explained otherwise during the interrogation. It would completely shatter Riddler's worldview if he found out that Batman was Bruce Wayne
@@c6083 No, Riddler doesn't know. When Riddler says "He's the only one we didn't get", it's clear that Riddler still thinks that Bruce and Batman are two separate people. Riddler thinks he's found an ally against Gotham's corrupt elite, and leaves Batman riddles to help him go after his next murder targets. So he says "He's (Bruce) the only one we (Riddler and Batman) didn't get" because the bomb he sent to Wayne Tower failed to kill Bruce. He wouldn't have said that if he knew Bruce and Batman were the same person.
And also the fact that, you're completely at his mercy. If he doesn't run even if you're running, it's over, you know he's gonna catch you, no need to rush, there is no escape.
The fact that battinson can easily silence his footsteps and be silent, but chooses to be heard to put fear in his prey in the first scene with the painted clown gang.

I love that Batman records everything he sees with his suit. Usually the characters always remember things, like they have photographic memory, but this explains that away and adds to the detective side of Batman.
The director of photography on this is Greig Fraser. He also worked on Let Me In, Killing Them Softly, Rogue One, Dune, and a few episodes of The Mandalorian. One of my favorite cinematographers working today.
Matt Reeves knocked it out of the park with this film, it's so good on so many levels from the acting, to the musical score and the tone was all brilliant!
I kind of like the Dark Knight more because of Joker but with Nolan Bat films the villains are usually the ones outshining Batman. While in this movie Batman is actually given the focus, the camera angles are shot in his pov, we feel what he's going through and what he's experiencing. We didn't need to see a flashback of his parents because Robert delivers that grief through his performance, like how he arrived at the first crime scene staring at the boy. And the funeral scene as Bruce, he looks so disconnected from the outside world. Plus I love how there's so many emphasis on his eyes. Robert is my Batman. " he wants to save Gotham, and he does so so by making criminals shit their pants. What it's not working , he said so constantly throughout the movie. In the story Alfred treats Bruce warmly but they still have a distance. Alfred genuinely feels like the humanity Bruce once had has been in his quest to stop crime. Bruce is just awkward he's weird doesn't know how to act like a person. For example, Christian Bale Batman was a version where he needed to isolate himself for a time to understand what he needs to do, what he needs to become, but he never felt alien. Pattinson Brews Pattinson as Batman feels alien. The dudes desperate for some kind of relationship that's beyond beating people's faces in but he doesn't allow myself to open up" - Brown table
I find this to be the first "true" Batman film in that it really concentrates on Batman while still having a strong villain that doesn't overshadow him. Cinematography and score were fantastic and gave the film a feeling of dread that fit the story. My issue with the Nolan films is that Gotham was an afterthought (aside from parts of Begins) when it should be a "character". As far as all the Dark Knight comparisons, that film is a great Joker movie with Batman in it. This film is a great Batman film that concentrates on Batman and shows his process/method and motivation in a way that no other films have (can't speak for any animated movies since I have not seen any).
I like reeves Batman and the villains, however his Bruce Wayne personality to the public is his downfall. He’s my second favourite Batman as he doesn’t kill, (I don’t think?). But yeah… KEATON ALL THE WAY
So this film shows his process/ method and motivation better than Batman Begins? You either haven't seen begins, or haven't watched it in a very long time.
@@moonknight4053 Bruce's personality to the public is actually perfectly faithful to the character considering at this stage in his career he legitimately didnt have a public persona. He's still consumed by trauma and obsessed with the Gotham project and the freedom he feels when he is Batman. Later on he learns that Gotham needs both bruce and batman and thus develops an additional alter ego the billionaire playboy.
@@jaburkie Yes, I have seen it, and I think it's easily the best of the Nolan Trilogy. But, I stand by my statement. Bales Batman is not my favorite, although he is the best Bruce Wayne. It's my opinion, you obviously have a different one, and that's ok.
If you watch "the sacred killing of a deer" you'll see why Barry was chosen to play joker. I'm really excited to see what he's going to do with the role and what part he'll have to play in the sequels
Yes but I hope they allow Barry to fully divest into the character and have fun. Instead of playing someone who's crazy, he plays the character with his own style that truly embodies who the joker is. He isn't just chaos but the man's extremely intelligent and finds joy in making Batman bend his no kill rule. Though I loved that deleted scene, because it gave me chills and feel creepy, I was hearing Heath Ledger's Joker and not Barry's. He doesn't have to look a mess to be creepy, I don't want a over top thing.
Something I respect the screenwriters for is that they're fully aware of the expectation for a shirtless scene in a superhero movie and don't even try to come up with an excuse for it, it's just "Yep, he's figuring this out with his shirt off, you're welcome"
as a comics fan, this is one of the best movie adaptations I've ever seen!! it stayed very true to what I think Batman should be: a symbol of hope for his city!!
I loved the detail that his glider suit is just an army flight suit and parachute and he clearly hasn't used it much since it's only been 2 years since he became batman
Best Batman so far! Detective Comics Batman! No ninja Batman. No IronMan Batman. No rollerblading hockey mooks. Just the world’s greatest detective who scares people before punching them into submission.
I love how emo he is i mean he lost his parents and Robert himself said that it's like Bruce never really got over his parents' death, it's like he's been grieving his whole life, that's why he's such a recluse that lives with a weight on his shoulders, feeling that he has a duty to protect the city and hopes to see it changing for the better, the things he does for the city - the batman - thats all he has left and i just love how human batman is in this movie. Also the detective vibe really made me feel antsy in a good way i loved it sooo much. And the way the scenes were shot especially that car chase scene like the sounds of the batmobile got me goosebumps istg and the catwoman's POV ughhh soo good!! Also I LOVE how we literally watch him being portrayed as "the vengeance" but then becoming a true hero in the end, not only getting the bad guys, but also actually saving people.
It seemed unrealistic how in Nolan’s trilogy how sure of himself he was after coming back to Gotham because even after returning he just slipped right into the playboy persona and didn’t really develop it it makes sense that despite how sure of batman he is he isn’t sos sure how to use his own name and privilege to his advantage
Agreed! Side note, I like how you mentioned that Batman hoped to see a change in Gotham - I wonder if that’s what inspired the Riddler’s motivation to “sea” a change as well ;) lol
Except Bruce Wayne isn't supposed to be emo its like he's screaming that he's batman when he is supposed to be this eccentric billionaire with a "huge ego" and no free time that's his true mask not batman 24/7 and that's the issue I had with this movie
@@xxraptorxx8180 yesss exactly!! i guess you could say that the playboy persona was just a way to protect himself from feeling all of the bad feelings, but you're right he didn't have time to develop it so it felt kinda too forced and i like much more how this new batman is darker and just sad all the time, i believe that he is going to mature a lot in the next movies so it will make much more sense also watching his growth is going to be really satisfying
@@angryfoxgaming6276 thats a different bruce wayne tho, i love the other batman movies too but in this new one Robert took the chance to interpret Bruce in a different way with a completely different personality i mean i loved it but i get that some people prefer playboy Bruce haha this Bruce is more focused on the pain he feels and thats exactly what made him create batman so it makes sense to me that he is emo
The Riddler was targeting Bruce Wayne because of his father's 'sins', he didn't know he was Bruce Wayne > 'He's the only one we didn't get'. The Riddler thought he and the Batman were working together to expose the corruption in Gotham. The bomb that Alfred opened was meant to be opened by Bruce Wayne, and the fireproof package inside was for Batman to find at the crime scene like he found the other riddles.
I love-love, love, LOVE-this relatively low-tech Batman. It feels like a Batman that's still building up his arsenal over time while honing his skills on the detective side of things.
Also, the last act of this movie was straight up unsettling. One man took some outcasts and infected them with terrible purpose, and as a result, they planned to lie in wait and open fire on people who came seeking safety. Just.... viscerally uncomfortable because we know how possible something like that is.
I agree. You can also see that with the level of sophistication with his technology: he’s got the eye camera sure, and the suit is pretty tactical but his bat mobile is just more of a souped up mustang than Christian Bales tumbler. His suit can fold up and make a gliding wing suit instead of Bale’s memory cloth cape. He also spends a lot of time tracking people down undercover using a motorbike. It’s a totally different type of Batman and it’s honestly great
The Joker clip was supposed to be in the middle of the film, but it was decided it would have taken away from the story. You're right in that this will be a trilogy of films. And there will be 3 HBOMax shows. Colin Farrell has already signed a contract for a Penguin show, and the other two will be set of Catwoman & Arkham Asylum. The score was done by award winning film composer Michael Giacchino. And Zoe Kravits is Jason Mamoa's step-daughter. So you can connect The Batman to GoT.
I just love this movie. I saw it in the theater twice and a few more since being on HBOmax. The score is just amazing. They give Gotham city its own character, the fact that it only rains on the days where a murder is committed is just like the city is crying. Cinematography is amazing, as is the acting. One of my tope 3 "superhero" films along with The Dark Knight and Man of Steel. Can't wait to see where they take this, I just hope that they can keep the quality up
To me, this is a masterpiece of a film. Storytelling, visuals and also the character development for Batman. Throughout the whole film Batman is just using fear to fight off villians and be "Vengeance". Fast forward to when the mayoral campaign happens and the guy who almost got beat up to death looks at Batman and says "I'm vengeance", Bruce realizes that he had it all wrong from the start. He needs to be better than just "Vengeance". Matt Reeves also likes to use biblical references in his films. When Batman cuts off the wire, he falls down in the water (signifying baptism) and he comes out leading a pack of civillians to safety, only then he realizes that he should be a hero to the people, in fact the scene where the woman is being taken away by the medical unit, she clings on to Batman and doesn't let go until he tells her it's okay. So so many small details in this film. That to me is what makes it a masterpiece.
@@theofreres1882 in an overall movie point of view, I agree TDK is better, but as a Batman film in my opinion this is the best one. Problem is, TDK is the 2nd in Nolan's trilogy and this Batman is the 1st one and it's being compared to TDK. I can't see the sequel to this being better than it.
this is my favorite batman movie, and also probably my favorite movie of all time. Saw it in theatres 5 times and can honestly say i wouldve seen it many more times if i hadn't already spent too much money on it. Just such a good movie
"There isn't an equivalent of Gotham in MARVEL" I mean, Hell's Kitchen is a really nasty and corrupt district. The Daredevil show actually does a great job portraying it as a Gotham of sorts
I've seen this movie in cinemas so many times and what can I say. In my opinion this is the best *Batman* movie. i love The Dark Knight but this movie is a real Batman Movie and made me walk out of the cinemas feeling like i have never felt in any movie before it speaks to me a lot more than the the Dark knight or other Batman movies and i just love this version on batman that he is a younger Batman Is so awesome and this development of Vengeance towards Hope so brilliantly done 10/10 the soundtracks 10/10 the acting just perfect I love The Batman Why everyone that react on this film not now that this Batman is a more younger version he is just 2 years Batman so far that's why they didn't now him he is at the beginning
He definitely didn’t know Bruce and Batman were the same person. It’s in how he references Bruce as “him”, and Batman as “you” when they’re talking in the prison. Batman wasn’t sure either until Riddler says “he’s the only one we didn’t get.” He also looks at the camera to see if it was recording so as to not react to him saying his name until he was sure, otherwise he would have reacted like “bro who told you?” The whole thing with the trailers and the scene here was to make us think Riddler knew his identity but he ultimately shows his cards and we learn through that interrogation that he didn’t know.
If you watch closely you notice that one of the staples on the side of the documents is missing when joker hands them back. Also would really recommend watching prisoners
For me it's a tie, just like you said no need to compare. I can see how the director drew inspiration from the dark Knight as well as this is a much different type of story to what the other movies did. Fantastic movie I saw it in the theater and it was just absolute showcase of what many comic book readers wanted

I am not sure why everyone is comparing this to TDK. Are we forgetting this is the first film while TDK was already the second one. We should compare sequels. But I think its a testament to how great this movie is if they already using TDK as the benchmark.
Pretty much because they are both at the top of the list when talking about live action Batman. You can't really compare Batman Begins with this because The Batman will win easily.
I think that when people compare this to dark knight their comparing apples to oranges and dark knight was a sequel this is the first of hopefully a series of films as well
The answer is YES‼️ Most impressive is the practical effects and very limited CGI. I wasn’t interested in yet another Batman movie or Pattinson… but by gosh I was pleasantly wrong. Fast became one of my favourite superhero movies. Dark, gritty, haunting, plot intriguing, villain terrifying, music broody and visually stunning! 🖤 P.S. So happy no mention of HP in your reaction 😊
I do believe that the green juice he put in him is a prototype version of Banes Venom, setting him up in a future film. Screw the Joker, I want more Bane, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze and plenty of other awesome villains to choose from. If anyone could make Condiment King scary, it’s Matt Reeves.
The thing I love most about this version, aside from the cinematography and the soundtrack, is just how green Batman is. Like he's clearly still suffering from losing his parents and you feel it, he doesn't give a fuck. And while you say he's "tanking" shots, in that shirtless scene you can see that he's got a lot of lasting, deep scars, even though he's only been at it for 2 years. He's still figuring everything out and he's rough.
This was not planned as a trilogy or even as having a sequel. Yes, it was left open-ended. But Matt Reeves made very clear he had no way of knowing how well this would do so he made no such plans.
I had to go back and rewatch the scenes with Penguin, cause I somehow didn't know it was Colin until after the movie was over, and my god... he's unrecognizable, but so great in the role. Hope we get to see more of him!
It is pretty fantastic. Something we don't get from movies nowadays. It's a thriller through and through and I think it's great. The Dark Knight is a more 'realistic' human hero. While this one felt much more like Gothem imo. I cannot wait for the next one.
I think you're spot-on with the injection guess. They took the time to show a shot of the vial holding a neon green liquid. Plus I believe that adrenaline needs to be injected into the heart. Batman put the shot in his leg. Pretty sure that it's supposed to be Venom. The substance that Bane uses.
In the cannon prequel book, it is revealed that Bruce loves chemistry and concocts his own formulas all the time. Maybe Bane somehow gets his hands on it and that is where his strength comes from, maybe he becomes addicted to it. Also, adrenaline is clear not green so that just adds to the theory.
I love this film so much man! The goons at the start know of the Batman but have never seen him til he train station, you can hear one of them saying “it’s him”, letting us know the goons know of the Batman, they’ve heard of a fighting masked vigilante! 10/10 film for me honestly, 3 hours went by so quick !
I don’t know this for sure, but I really think the riddler in this movie was inspired by the really life serial killer called the zodiac killer. Edit: they actually said he was inspired by the zodiac! I didn’t know it was confirmed
24:05 I think he mentioned he was against the usual hollywood "get a superhero role and take a boatload of gear to get huge" model that everyone follows

Great reaction and depending on where you are in the uk it’s still on at some cinemas and we’ll worth seeing on a big screen. Having seen it 3 times now, I think it probably is my favourite Batman film. I think everything works so well (acting, visuals, story, score etc.) and I have some things that I didn’t like about the dark knight so think that’s now in second for me.
I'm going to apologize in advance for this comment, because I hate myself for thinking of it in the first place, but once Catwoman said, "You're already spoken for", I couldn’t unsee it. Gotham is Batmans Bella Swan.
Never read the comics, never watched the other Batman movies but this gripped me from the title card to the final monologue. It's one of those movies that aren't just a cinema experience
as one of the biggest DK fans out there, after i watched the batman this year, i would definitely say that the batman is the best Batman film ever and the dk is the best Joker film ever. coz the majority of people who watch dk, the usually cheer for joker and they fall in love with the joker and stuff, but this film makes you like batman more then the villains. thats my opinion. P.S loved your video Seb, keep it up 👍
The riddler's design and "Riddles" is based on an actual serial killer called "The zodiac killer" which was famous for sending the police and media riddles to taunt them And he actually never got caught
Zodiac sent ciphers not riddles, they reference the cyphers at one point in this movie. They also reference his disguise, which is very similar to Riddler's outfit edit: didn't know ciphers is spelt with an I and not a Y
Some differences that makes this one stand out from the others: Other variants had him with an entire team of scientists who put his gadgets together for him. In here, he makes them himself. I seem to remember in others, Gordon simply slipped him case files, and he did the work on his own time. In here, he's actually working with the cops and going to crime scenes. Not to mention he demonstrates a knowledge of forensics. Also speaks directly to people who claim Batman sucks as a hero because Gotham is still crime ridden: how is he supposed to clean up Gotham when the entire system is corrupted?
That's one of the negative things I felt about the Nolan trilogy. If Batman was so smart, why did he rely on Lucius Fox for the vehicles and gadgetry?? Another nitpick that some people argue is how there wasn't much Bruce screentime. Imo, I think it was a great Batman movie. It was explained in the dialogue that Bruce didn't like "being" Bruce Wayne, as the story covers Year 2: he hasn't developed the playboy image for the public eye yet. And it shows perfectly in the movie.

The Batman is lowkey the best superhero movie released in cinema history. The cinematography is top notch, Zoe’s Selina is addictive Idc bout the costume it’s their debut year so ofc the costumes were not at their prime. The soundtrack ?….. UGHHHSHSNSN
The dark knight is on a level that is hard to comapre any other super hero film to. But honestly this movie is a love letter to batman and batman fans. So I would say this is my favorite Batman movie. The Dark Knight is more of a Joker movie to me than a batman movie. This film literally had Batman in almost every single frame of the movie.
The music for everything was great , catwomans theme was so nice , riddlers was great , batmans was great too , never know whether it’s his theme or riddlers sometimes though
The reason Batman walks slowly is to give the criminals time to make different life choices. Vs riddler jumping out of the shadows to hit someone from behind
I agree riddler is up there with ledger and Nicholson.... He did not steal the show .... Batman was beyond amazing and he personifies the hole movie .....
I liked this reaction!) Regarding catwoman, in the comics, the fact that she is Carmine Falcone's daughter has been discussed for a long time. Even in the Rocksteady games there were Easter eggs for the fact that she is his daughter. However, I don't remember that the comics gave an unambiguous answer to this. And also, it's a pity that you didn't insert the moment when the bandit says: "I am vengeance." This is essentially a turning point in for Batman in this movie. Riddler showed him who this vengeance of his could produce. And in the end, he realizes that he cannot just be retribution, but must become justice. Something like that) P.S. I'm not sure I completely liked the love line between catwoman and Batman. But Zoey Kravitz herself is good in this image.
Great reaction!! Honestly speaking if most ppl are going to compare this film, which is the first film in a new solo series, to the other batman film which was known as the best - TDK, which was the second film in its series where some groundwork was already laid down… it says more about The Batman being great than some may think. An honest fair comparison would be to compare The Batman to the first film in the Nolan trilogy bc they’re both the first Batman films in their series… but people don’t because we already know The Batman is better. It’s the only Batman film where I’ve seen people divided on whether ‘which is better TDK or The Batman?’ which says something. So irregardless of whether you like The Batman better or not, there’s no denying it’s still a fantastic film that’s at least UP there in the top. Personally speaking for myself, both TDK and TB are films as a whole that are equally ranked in #1 BUT I actually do like The Batman maybe an inch better than The Dark Knight bc not only is it a great film, it’s a great BATMAN film - the most comic accurate one to date. TDK was mainly carried by Heath’s performance if we are being real lol. But in The Batman we have Batman being a true detective, his voice is great, the fight scenes are fantastic, he never breaks his no kill code, he has a wonderful arc where he realizes what he has to become for the people of his city etc. I also cared for the BatCat relationship in this film more just bc it feels more emotionally driven.
definitely agree that The Batman is far more comic accurate and true to the character. While i usually don't expect everything to be very comic accurate, it was clear throughout this film that Matt Reeves truly understood Batman and his take on the character is my favourite.
@@Henry-fn1zw I respect your opinion. But personally, Begins was kinda meh to me. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t wow me and doesn’t feel close to as great as TDK. Also for your ‘y’all never talk about begins’, i know you can’t be talking about me in your ‘y’all’ bc I literally just spoke about how strange it was that people never wanted to compare The Batman to Begins since it would be a more fair comparison given they’re both the first films in their trilogies. That being said, sorry to say I think you’d be in the minority to think that Begins is better.
Paul Dano is so good in this movie just like every other movie hes been in and i wouldnt say this movie is better than dark knight but it is definently just as good
I love this film, but I love The Dark Knight even more bc it's literally like my favourite film of all time. I would say the cinematography is better in this, but on every other level, The Dark Knight is either about equal or better. I think its interesting how many people like this catwoman, bc honestly I wasn't a huge fan, Zoe Kravitz is a good actress but I don't think she was the right casting and the script and how she inparticular was written wasn't the best. This is just my opinion tho, so I totally understand if people disagree

I love that Batman records everything he sees with his suit. Usually the characters always remember things, like they have photographic memory, but this explains that away and adds to the detective side of Batman.
In the comics Batman has an eidetic memory which pretty much is a photographic memory

I love the shot of Batman walking towards Penguin being upside down in the car, like how a bat hangs upside down. So cool.
The director of photography on this is Greig Fraser. He also worked on Let Me In, Killing Them Softly, Rogue One, Dune, and a few episodes of The Mandalorian. One of my favorite cinematographers working today.
It’s pretty much a given that the Iceberg Lounge pops off on New Years 🔥
Matt Reeves knocked it out of the park with this film, it's so good on so many levels from the acting, to the musical score and the tone was all brilliant!
The dudes desperate for some kind of relationship that's beyond beating people's faces in but he doesn't allow myself to open up"
- Brown table
It was a misdirect, Riddler doesn’t actually know Batman is Bruce Wayne.
👆 all that.
Michael Giacchino made "Ave Maria" terrifying. Also, you're the first person that references that song being in "Hitman". Props.
"you really dont know its collin farrel unless you know its collin farrel" 🤣🤣
I was worried this movie was gonna be cheesy but it was actually SO much better than I pictured! I can't wait for the sequel
The Batman is the best live action portrayal of a realistic Batman . I also liked how this movie was more focused on Batman's detective skills .
Can't wait to see where they take this, I just hope that they can keep the quality up
They also didn't photoshop certain things and put it in New York(Nolan Trilogy).
I wish everyone would relax on comparing if to the dark knight

Both this and the dark knight are amazing, but i think TDK is better
@@theofreres1882 in an overall movie point of view, I agree TDK is better, but as a Batman film in my opinion this is the best one. Problem is, TDK is the 2nd in Nolan's trilogy and this Batman is the 1st one and it's being compared to TDK. I can't see the sequel to this being better than it.

I've seen this movie in cinemas so many times and what can I say. In my opinion this is the best *Batman* movie. i love The Dark Knight but this movie is a real Batman Movie and made me walk out of the cinemas feeling like i have never felt in any movie before it speaks to me a lot more than the the Dark knight or other Batman movies and i just love this version on batman that he is a younger Batman Is so awesome and this development of Vengeance towards Hope so brilliantly done 10/10 the soundtracks 10/10 the acting just perfect I love The Batman
Why everyone that react on this film not now that this Batman is a more younger version he is just 2 years Batman so far that's why they didn't now him he is at the beginning
He definitely didn’t know Bruce and Batman were the same person. It’s in how he references Bruce as “him”, and Batman as “you” when they’re talking in the prison. Batman wasn’t sure either until Riddler says “he’s the only one we didn’t get.” He also looks at the camera to see if it was recording so as to not react to him saying his name until he was sure, otherwise he would have reacted like “bro who told you?”
The whole thing with the trailers and the scene here was to make us think Riddler knew his identity but he ultimately shows his cards and we learn through that interrogation that he didn’t know.
You have to remember that this is Batman Year 2, so he's very young and angsty. Also in his detective phase 👍🏽
I feel like you’re the one person at the funeral who won’t stop laughing 😂
Maybe Hell's Kitchen is the Gotham equivalent with all the organized crime. But this mystery, noir feel kinda makes this my favorite Batman movie.

Pretty much because they are both at the top of the list when talking about live action Batman. You can't really compare Batman Begins with this because The Batman will win easily.
Comparing it to dark knight is basically admitting that its way better than batman begins or dark knight rises.

I do believe that the green juice he put in him is a prototype version of Banes Venom, setting him up in a future film. Screw the Joker, I want more Bane, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze and plenty of other awesome villains to choose from.

That's bullshit.
Matt reeves planned a Batman trilogy from the beginning
It seemed that he pumped it directly into his artery which would be as good as pumping it onto the heart
The thing is if it was venom wouldn’t he have very easily killed the guy he was hitting?
Also you do actually inject adrenaline in the thigh
I got the art book to the movie, according to concept art it’s just an adrenaline shot
As soon as I realized we weren't doing the Wayne parents death I knew I was going to like it.

The riddler's design and "Riddles" is based on an actual serial killer called "The zodiac killer" which was famous for sending the police and media riddles to taunt them
And he actually never got caught
Zodiac sent ciphers not riddles, they reference the cyphers at one point in this movie. They also reference his disguise, which is very similar to Riddler's outfit

I love that you just watched "UP" and how different the tones are of UP and this movie, but the same music composer
Some differences that makes this one stand out from the others:
Other variants had him with an entire team of scientists who put his gadgets together for him.
"big evil Danny Devito" lol!!...

The reason Batman walks slowly is to give the criminals time to make different life choices. Vs riddler jumping out of the shadows to hit someone from behind
I love how dark they made batman, he feels like a villain and I'm loving it
I agree riddler is up there with ledger and Nicholson....
He did not steal the show ....
Batman was beyond amazing and he personifies the hole movie .....
To this day, any scene with him punching someone was amazing to see in theater. They felt so HEAVY I remember wincing during one of them lmao
Something like that)
P.S.
I'm not sure I completely liked the love line between catwoman and Batman. But Zoey Kravitz herself is good in this image.
“Big evil Danny Devito” would be amazing if you haven’t seen the 90s Batman movies lol
While i usually don't expect everything to be very comic accurate, it was clear throughout this film that Matt Reeves truly understood Batman and his take on the character is my favourite.
yall never talk bout begins😂 imo, I dont even think the batman is better than begins lmaoooo, Batman Begins is so underrated
@@AT32556 For sure!! 👍 I feel like The Batman was a film that was almost like a ‘love letter’ to Batman fans who know the character to his core.
