    This is one of the best upgrade I have done for the Spyder. It has made the throttle response react the way I think it should. If you liked the video please leave a thumbs up on it and subscribe if you haven't. Doing so helps support future videos that I create. Thanks for your support and comments!

    Thanks to Brett Naysmith for this question and I wanted to repost it for others. The question was, will this make any difference in cruise control? I researched on the Pedal Commander website and found the answer along with another tidbit. When in cruise control or giving the vehicle gas, do not change modes or settings on the Pedal Commander. Doing so can cause an error message or warning light and may cause your bike to go into limp mode. I want to add that it is probably best to be in eco or city modes when using cruise control as well. Sorry this wasn't covered in the video but, awesome question asked!

    End of October I bought my first Spyder, a 2021 RT Limited and had the Pedal Commander put on by the dealer. When I went to pick her up, the tech who did the work asked if I knew about the Pedal Commander? Told him nope, and he pointed to the floor and about a 20 burn mark! He said it was the first one he had put on a Spyder, and he almost went into shop wall in Sport mode and that is why I have not turned it on yet! Maybe this summer! LOL

      Honestly be careful. The bike is still controlabe but in sport + it does a burnout with no effort at all. Sport + is absolutely useless to me. It was designed for racing only. Start out in city with the 0 setting (no red or green led lights) and play from there. City and +2 is about the same as the sport mode without the pedal commander. It is not dangerous in any city setting. Have fun!!!!!!! I really like where Can-Am is going with the RT lineup. You got a nice ride!

    Right off great Intro, Love the detail you are putting in. Ohhh Pedal Commander is going to get me a ticket or two. $299 I thought it was way more expensive. I know what I will be getting my self for Christmas! Sweet an educational Video to come. Awesome job again man, I am glad we Can-Am Spyder owners have some one we can go to, to get a comprehensive guide that is well put together and not focused on things we don't give a crap about. Keep it up man.

      Thanks for the comment and support! Sport plus and +4 is pretty much unusable other than racing and a huge smile when playing around. I couldn't believe that it could change the Spyder that much. I recommend creating a sign on to slingmods.com and getting emails from them. They often send out discounts and they recently had a $50 off coupon for the Pedal Commander. They may do it again for Christmas. Stay safe and ride happy! More videos coming!

      The best advice I can probably give you is....... drive it for a year stock. Put some miles on it and get use to how it handles before changing and adding things unless cozmetic. Don't skim and get a cheap helmet either! I could honestly live without the Pedal commander. It does make a difference but the Spyder rides just fine without it! I'm excited for you and hope it will be everything you look forward to!

    Your videos have been very helpful. I'm getting ready to add a Pedal Commander to my 2021 F3. I was wondering it would be easier to push the connections down from the handlebars rather than pushing the Pedal Commander up and over the gas tank. Thoughts?

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and glad you find them helpful. I may not always be right but I try hard to cover things the best I can. To be honest, either way may be a headache I approached it both ways before doing the video and this was the way that worked best for me. The connectors kept getting hung up on stuff, but the pedal commander controler was one solid piece so it didnt catch on other wires. I've got pretty good sized hands so that didnt help either! The best advice I can give you is put on some relaxing music when doing it! Have fun but be careful in sport and sport+ at first! Thanks for the support and if you want, let me know how you like it!

    Another great video 👍😀 . One question if you know, would this instant (quicker) acceleration cause any power train problems? Love to have the instant power.🤩🤩

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. This is one that is not an easy answer. There is a yes and no to every way you go to answer it.
      Yes...... faster accelerations, burn outs, etc will put extra torque and strain on any vehicle. Even if you don't have the Pedal Commander, riding it like you are a formula one racer will add to creating problems.
      No...on mine I have not had any issues yet. I ride mine on city +2 or +3 it just gives me the throttle response I feel i should have. The Pedal Commander just affects the throttle response only and does not interfere with anything else, so it should not really affect the power train. I am pretty hard sometimes on the bike too and push it every now and then, so its not babied and has been fine so far.
      The Pedal Commander does not improve horsepower, even though it feels like it does. Can-Am Spyders are also toned down a little bit compared to what the engine is really capable of, just for safety, so it can probably handle the instant throttle response.
      Do know though that if anything is wrong with the bike and you got to get it serviced under warranty, they will probably blame everything on aftermarket parts. That is the downside of adding things on from aftermarket companies.
      If you are looking for more Horsepower from your Spyder, the Pedal Commander would be the wrong thing to get.
      Hope this answered what you needed. Thanks again for the support and comments and glad your liking some of the videos. Keep the questions coming, if I can help, I'm glad to do so.

      @@waynef3s310 I think you will be happy with it. A lot of people who have the F3 limited and RT models really like it because it really improves them. Stay safe and ride happy!

      Thank you for watching it. I have had the pleasure in my life to drive both cars and motorcycles that go fast and I myself had the pleasure of owning one of my favorite vehicles (a Mustang) and also a ninja which I had done a lot of tuning on it. I have to say that I will probably never remap the Spyder. I hear a lot of people say in reviews they are slow and not that much fun, not sure what they were doing to cause this. I have maxed it out speed wise and have rode the crap out of it on curves and I couldnt be happier. I have turned the Nanny off and with the pedal commander on it, it was a blast. Can-am really made a good, different motorcycle for everyone. I am more than happy with mine now and the choice i made to buy it. If you have one I hope it is as much of an enjoyment for you as mine is for me. If you don't have one I am sure once you ride on a F3 you will understand what I am saying hopefully. They are a lot of fun and very well made. Thanks again for the support and comment!

      @@MOABMAN I own a 2015 sport..I did do a Stage II tune to it...there's a LOT of hidden horsepower in those 1330s...they are really down tuned due to C.A.R.B.
      Restrictions...everyone who's done a remap say after the remapp was done...it now runs the way it's supposed to from the factory without the lean fuel C.A.R.B. restrictions..now the bike has the fun factor..imagine a f3 Spyder with 25+ more horsepower and 20+more pounds of torque..with the pedal commander to boot...running in the canyons..that's a serious inexpensive upgrade..

    Hey MOABMAN - I just discovered your channel - Awesome! Question - Would you personally leave the Pedal Commander on while on a long tour trip? Thanks in advance!

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello D. Knight. I have found the setting City and at 0-3 is where I like to leave it. I don't change it at all hardly and have left the pedal commander on since I bought it. I have noticed different settings seem to affect mpg. I took a long trip and used the ECO setting, and don't know if it was a one time thing or not, but I was getting close to 40 mpg. I am going to try it again to see if the results are the same. The bike is not supposed to get gas mileage that good so don't know if it actually improves mileage that much until I test that a couple times. The reason I said this is because that will be a HUGE difference for long trips if it does improve mpg that much. My factory bike setting is in ECO while I have the Pedal Commander on as well.
      Thanks for the comments and glad you like the channel! I work hard to make the videos look professional and entertaining so the comment is much appreciated!

      @@d.knight6008 Thank you for the support. You may find a different setting works better for you. I have noticed that people who have the bigger models (RT,etc) are using the sport mode more. Which makes sense because it is a bigger bike. The Pedal Commander does a good job of allowing you to fine tune your Spyder's throttle response. You won't regret the purchase. Stay safe and ride happy.

    Can you tell me the difference between the f3 and f3s?

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Different years and models have different options, so it is easier for me to tell you the main differences that vary in the US. The F3 is the most basic with the fewest features. Then depending on the year of bike each "step up" has one or two extras. They involve: 10 more horsepower, the ECO/SPORT modes, cruise control, shocks, sometimes color options, and now Screen sizes and BRP Connect. 2021 has the F3, F3-S, F3-S Special series, and the F3-T and F3-T limited. The T's have different storage options available as well. Check out my video th-cam.com/video/5g_TMkzGieQ/w-d-xo.html to see what is different between models. Hope this answered what you needed to know and thanks for the comment and support!

      @@MOABMAN thanks for the info.i want to buy a f3 this spring. So many options. I always refer back to your bike it has the look I'm after. Dad 82 just sold off his Bergman scooter and bought a brand new 21 ryker rally. I hope to ride with him soon, but I would rather jump up to the f3 because my wife loves to ride as well.

      @@darrengarlough5121 Your welcome and hope it helped. I would suggest an F3-S if you can afford it. The features it has over the F3 are things you can't add later and will be a better fit for 2 riders as well. But the F3 is still a good motorcycle if you choose it. The BRP backrest is an option you may want to add as well. It is nice and big plus fits the bike with no issues, unfortunately it is about 500 bucks. My wife is grateful for it. I definitely don't suggest the Ryker if you know your going to have passengers.

    Will this make any difference in cruise control ?

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question and I do not think it would. My suggestion is that you can actually turn it off. I would do that if using cruise control, or set it on eco or city and you do not have to worry about it. You would not be using it anyhow. There is actually no documentation about that on it so good question and thank you!

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your question was awesome and after my reply I researched it through their website. The only thing that is an issue in cruise control is this; you do not want to change modes when in cruise control or giving it gas because this will cause an error code or the bike to go in limp mode. I would not recommend using sport or sport + as well. I want to post this as a main comment for others as well so thanks again!
