Fascinating video - thanks for all the work. I moved into Chelsfield Lane in 1951/2 aged 5 or 6 with my parents and brother (age 2/3) and know the area very well. We went to Wellington Road School where Miss John was head teacher with her magic ointment that cured most things - she tried it on my broken leg but that failed :-(. I went to Cray Valley Technical High School where Mr Kingsland was heard teacher. Eventually I met up with a girl from St Pauls Cray, got married and moved away in 1971 to Berkshire (still with her in 2021). The 1930s images of the butchers etc predated me so I have no recollection of those at all but it was fascinating viewing

My memories, although sparse now, stretch back to at least 1943, when my brother was born. We lived in St.PaulsCray and walked to the shops in St.Paul, St.Mary and FootsCray. We also took the 51 bus to Sidcup or Orpington. I remember been taken to see Robin Hood and Bambi at the Commadore. Vague memories that things hadn't changed much from when those films and photos were taken.

Loved watching this. Brought back so many memories. Sad to see its demise as it was such a lovely village. On a recent visit it was very sad to see that.

Amazing facts and photos of SMC where I spent many years living next door to Doctor Arthure's house, Willow Garth. The story of the bull in the garden there is so very sad.
I before this, lived in St Pauls Cray so know the area quite well.
Thank you for such a wonderful and beautifully narrated documentry! Looking forward to Part Two!
