If you want to turn your standard seeder into a direct drill you can put a subsoiler in between your tractor and seeder as long as it’s the same working width and your tractor is strong enough to pull both you can seed and cultivate in one pass without spending 100+ K.

@@jimmypage1969 just remember it will create stones. I think the direct drill does as well. The only way around that is to use a shallow cultivator. I’m not sure how bad the stones damage your equipment or the effects of damage. I’ve heard that a damaged harvester can effect the yield but I haven’t done any testing yet.

Some of the little things like you can get an extra 10% if you mulch and roll the field before you plant and the game doesn’t tell you about the loss for using a seeder or harvester that isn’t in good working condition. Before the only way you could tell if something really needed repair is it would slow down.
Or you could put the Subscriber machine into the Notification drill and get notified when the subs get to be harvested.
This was very helpful. I reset my game thinking the field growth was glitched because it was taking so long for crops to grow now I know how long it takes

I have an idea for another test video. With grapes, you can not get the vines close enough to get the whole row in a single pass with the subsoiler. Maybe we can test if that is really needed. Say, no pass, one pass, and two passes getting as much of the field as possible. Then see the yields. I am hoping there is a little fudge factor in there and close enough is good enough. Doing two passes super close to the vines is a pain in the butt. You snag on them pretty easily when that close.

All my fields say 30% fertilized.No matter how many times I fertilize the fields it always say 30% fertilized.Great video,very informative.
Grow oilseed radish and cultivate it in at the first growth stage.
like in FS19
1) direct drill (1state of fertilization)
2) herbicide (right after seeding - the AI worker won't do it thou)
3) roller (2nd state of fert)

PSA: Weeds are currently bugged.
Weeders will not remove even the first stage of weeds if you have a crop planted (any stage of growth). Weeders can only be used to remove weeds from a field that has nothing planted.
Also, after you've used herbicide on a field to remove weeds once, if the weeds grow back again BEFORE the field is "ready to harvest", you'll have immortal weeds that can't be removed by any means - not even herbicide.
These are bugs, because while the field info indicator will show a weed value of 50% after afflicted with immortal weeds, the map will not show any weed presence / pink highlight on that field.
i use weeders all the time in my game and always use it after a crop planted (first stage growth). never counter any bugs. weed value always 0% after using weeders, no weed presence in the map or in the field either.
weeds can grow more than once? never saw it in my game, maybe because i always cultivating it before plant a crop?

If you used shallow cultivation or direct drill then the first weeds will be at 75% growth and thus you need to remove them with herbicide as the weeder will destroy only some of them. Weeds never grew back for me. Can you provide what implements did you used and the steps you did take so I can replicate those and varify your bug?

Question. So if I use a plow, do I not need to use a cultivator and can go ahead and seed? Or will I need to use a cultivator first, then plow( if required)?
If plowing is required use a plow, if not a cultivator will work fine, but you do not have to do both
4:50 Hey Farmer Cop. I use the silo and place it on my farm for seeds.
It does charge extra for the convenience though.
Her farmer cop does rolling before and after both improve yield for a 10% bonus and if I have rocks turned off will I only have to roll after seeding or before
Not sure, I will be doing some tests on it in the future, my guess is you can only get a max of 5% of a bonus when using rollers
Hey, I have a question. After I harvest, do I need to reseed the field? Or what should I do?
Also, lime seems to be broken for me I assume. It does not get applied after I plant seeds.
After you harvest you need to cultivate the field (if you have periodic plowing you have to use a plow or a subsoiler first) then you can use a seeder or planter during the proper season and let it grow.
If I have periodic plowing enabled, and use a subsoiler do I then need to cultivate afterwards?

A lot of the stuff in 22 can be accessed through mods in 19. So id do that until the mod support picks up for 22.

One thing I dont understand. After harvesting my field needed weeding (it wrote), so I did that and removed the weeds. After that it said fertilize. I did that. Question is, do it always "say correct"? Problem: Everybody is telling to seed after every harvest (I am making wheat). But the field says I still have wheat on it, so in my mind I dont need to seed /replant the wheat at all - otherwise it would have told me to, right? The other issue is, everybody says cultivate. My filed do not require anything according to the field text, so what is the true here?
Follow the steps in this video. After you harvest weeds will grow but they will go away as you plant or cultivate over them.
you got mixed up with the plowing and lime. Plowing no longer is required every 3 harvests, just after the beets and potatoes and such. Lime IS required every 3 harvests. It explains this in game in the menu where it talks about improving yield.

Plowing hasn't been required every 3 harvests since FS 17 so not new to this game.
Hi, when does one need to roll? My fields say they need rolling, but they don’t change when I attempt to roll them.
You roll them after you sow the land. As far as I know the only reason you roll a field is to push the small rocks down into the soil. You might be able to get rid of that needs rolling state by picking up those small rocks, but I'm not sure if that'll work. Again, you have to roll it after you sow.
I do all of this and I’m still at 85%. Could it be because I didn’t use a roller?
Is there a way for when you buy anything new from the shop to get it delivered to your farm? Going to pick things up all the time is annoying 🤣
If you are on PC/Mac there is/ or will be a mod called Store deliveries or to that type of name lol... in any other case, use the newly implemented AI system where you can have a worker bring your tractors and equipment back to where you need it :)
in construction mode, you can install a container at your farm, there is a trigger to fill the container and you then don't have to deal with big bags!! Same for fert
The one thing I didnt get answered was when you harvest how to get it to regrow

Use herbicide or a mechanical weeder, mechanical weeder will only work in the first growth states

You didn't mention adding bee's to increase yield.
Intentionally I left that out, it only applies to canola as far as crops covered in this video and I have a separate video about bees
