I noticed no youtubers have mentioned this but been doing some experimenting and in this version you only have to give them the best food. water, straw and tmr will give you 100% productivity.
TMR recipe: your mixture works great. I also tried hay and straw from the hayloft and it's alot less hassle because you can drive this vehicle just under the pipe and fill it with 4500 hay + 4500 straw and fill up the rest with silage all the way to 17000 TMR. Go ahead and try it yourself. :)

Your videos are great, don't beat around the Bush, straight to the point and explain everything. Lots of FS19 tutorials seem to take 30minutes of waffling to explain the basics. Liked and subscribed 👍

Having seen all your FS 19 videos on animals I see that you are not mentioning that water can also be gotten from bodies of water in the game. New players may not be aware of that, and me personally prefer to do that instead of buying a tank. Maybe, late game when I have a lot more land and money is no problem, but starting out, especially in the from scracth option, saving that $5k is nice. Also, when you start out you have time to kill so going to get the water is not an issue.
If your playing on start from scratch then download a mod call government then place a billion of them its free then guess what they give you 100k per hour in game

Hey Moose thanks for the video. I used your videos to get a understanding fs17 so had to check out this version. The more I get into dairy I find just doing the 75% hay to be a better way to make money. TMR is a moneysink that causes input costs to skyrocket.
To start out with, Hay 1 / Silage 1 / Straw half. Later, you can do 2 Hay, 2 Silage, 1 Straw. Even later you'll find adding 3 Hay, 2 Silage, 1 Straw gives TMR and saves some Silage. Lean toward more Hay. If you have it laying on the ground loose or in a hay loft you can use a front loader to slowly add the hay, silage, straw. Hope this helps!
How do I get the horse out of the trailer? You opened some menu (Animal Dialog Button) but didn't say how. Please help before my horses die in there!!!!
I have a question I know how to bale now the only issue I'm having is getting the baling machine to wrap my bales. FBP 3135 I believe is the machine. Does it only wrap certain bales or something because I collected straw and it wont wrap it. Any help please thank you
Edit: I had to have cows in the pen first. I was trying to get everything ready before owning the animals. But you have to have them before you can put food/straw in the pen

You can just do TMR as a food source. Also 50/50 Hay and Silage will make TMR don't need straw. You can use it if you want as a filler but not something you have to use.

even though its 2 years later i've found that two bales of hay and one bale of wheat then two bales of silage is the best recipe for TMR

That was an impressively indepth tutorial given the shortness of it. You may now refer to me as cow master.
Turns out you can just use a forklift and over the food troughs to fill the food and you can download a TMR pallet mod as well.

Just a heads up, don't try to put the TMR in the trough with no cows in the pen... it doesn't work.

forage harvester? Loading wagons are the ones that are used for that, but I wouldn't bother with it unless you need it for animals

You can’t feed straw as bales but u can put it in the mixer wagon and it will work then add silage and hay aswell for better effectiveness

WHY CANT I FILL THE GRASS IN?

You can pick up straw and hay with a loading wagon instead of bailing. I use a fortschritt forage harvester to pick up that stuff quicker.
I can't get the pull-type mixer to accept silage bales for some reason.

why would you spread straw in the field, in the old games you spread it in the shed where the cows would sleep!
