Pulling the horse by the reins out of the stream or the ditch could be funny if it were not extremely painful for the horse. Many riders are using the reins as handles to prevent a fall. Many riders are victims of the 19th century and its whip and thrashing education. Some experienced riders with well educated horses are managing the obstacle with routine. Others are kicking and forcing their horses to jump, instead of allowing their horses to slide gradually down to finish with smaller safer less steep jumps. Many riders seem to be convinced of the efficiency of kicking and beating as a motivation aid. If it is not sufficient, they are trying to lift their horses by the reins over the ditch or out of the mood. Obviously most riders have not enough time for riding. The lack of time spent with their horses is probably the reason to use pain as the dominant method to force horses into submission. And unfortunately the younger riders are showing the same disgusting behaviour again. They cannot accept that horses are pain sensitive and suffering in silence. Most riders are treating their horses like shit, because they love them. I am sure.

Yes you CAN ride without the whip! I do it all the time. And you can certainly ride without merilessly beating your horse just because you're angry. Dear god that was dreadful. People who beat animals are criminals and should be locked up for it. Also, there are "hunts" where no foxes are harmed and killed and thank god we have evolved beyond that barbaric sport. There's no reason to terrorize an innocent animal just because you want to go riding with your friends. Hundreds of people do it all the time and the world doesn't come to an end. Think about it.
I have thought about it and I’m still going to use the whip on my horses, no harm done with the crack of the whip and some encouragement with the Spurs
@@whimsygrove9971 You have to keep it in perspective, horses kick and bite each other regularly in the paddock;. A controlled, well timed slap on the flank or shoulder with a crop is no worse, and provides a stimulus that can get both horse and rider out of trouble, because it’s hesitancy at the crucial moment that causes most falls. On the other hand I wouldn’t dream of hitting a horse anywhere near the head or trying to drag it around with the reins, either of which is counter productive and can soon result in a horse that is head-shy. In any case you have to keep your head, when you lose your own self control you’ve lost the game when it comes to animals, as that girl in the jockey silk riding the grey discovered.
Horses are pack animals and love hunting all this crap about the poor fox being tore apart is stupid one lead hound kills the fox dead with one bite this is far better than gassing or a poor shot from a farmer leaving the fox wounded for days till it dies they have to be controlled with hunting by hounds at least they stand a chance of getting away!

@@Lena-sd5xr before going of someone who doesn't know anything about horses search it up or even go and see one urself iv been and did 2 there really fun and all we do is have a blast around the country side
11:50 IM CRYING BECAUSE THE WAY THAT HORSE FELL SHE WAS WAS LIKE BLEDY HELL IM THINKING WHAT IF THAT WAS U
Very nice hunt here !
I have noticed a different style of riding in Ireland!
We slouch more :P haha
2:19
beating the horses isn't needed no but the irish are more rough with horses.
Dakota Bailey Them being Irish has nothing to do with them being rough. Just in general, these people are rough. It's not because they're Irish.
Not true they they most people with horses and dogs have their rich assholes with their nose so far up their arses they can't see that the horses and dogs can feel pain they're people like that everywhere you should see the uk it disgusting
Tiger Cub to be fair some of them are tho not all but a few are
Tiger Cub mate I’m Irish to live my whole life here to and I get that like he shouldn’t be sayin all are cuz I don’t even use a crop or a whip but some still are
Tiger Cub a mate can still be a girl I say it to everyone and what I said was I’m Irish to Ye and not all are hitting the horses but some are for r no reason
None of them can ride for toffe omggg
They cam beacuse if they couldn't they would of been of.in the first field ...
Poor things
Absolutely superb footage , great hunting, I don’t understand the negative comments if you don’t like hunting don’t watch it , you can’t mess about the jobs got to be done , you can’t ride and hunt without the whip , and you will not catch a fox without good hard trained dogs
Thank you.
@@justinneill5003 or they could not be putting their horses in this position in the first place where injury is likely.
So much terrible horsemanship in this video. This is how NOT to hunt!
It's terrible the way riders treat there horse
Been there done this so fun
Poor Animals, why is this still allowed ?
Beacuse its illegal and allowed and I bet u never been to one so shh
EVER HEARD OF, ANIMAL WELFARE?
I don't really like how they had to drag the horses out but I guess that's kinda necessary
No, it's NOT normal
You do not canter or gallop on a hard surface that is bad for your horses legs
I was turning nine on December the 6th
Not right. Evolve beyond your pompous, outdated rituals.
Yes, they love being beaten aggresively with crop and made jump dangerous ditches...
Some of the riding in this video is shocking.Surprised This is still legal 🙄 And the poor hounds 🥺
This is Awful omg the poor ponies
no not the horses,dogs and foxes ;-;
The spurs too 😖
HATE. THESE. RIDERS.
the bay one the the white star
Those riders are so stupid and so cruel
some of this was just cruel
Rylee Jones actually all of this was cruel
Am I the only one who feels bad for the dogs ??!!
Wtf sometimes I wonder if they even like their horses
that's bad for them
Grant yoder
Hmm, didn't like the lack of concern by the 'larger' rider for his horse after it's tumble into the water, nor the punishment meted out. My worry would be the welfare of my horse first. I would never canter or gallop on tarmac either, and yes l can make an informed opinion, having ridden for 45 years, and still ride x-Country.
Why are some of them so cruel constantly whipping the horse and even a dog for no reason he wasn't even that close to the horse and why do you open the dogs cage and not let them out and could you not bring another van having that amour of dogs is seriously dangerous all cooped together it reminds me of the dog meet cages and the idiots at 12:14 and 12:25 and how on earth is this a sport it's cruel to any animal involved
One question tho apart form that what do you do with dogs that are to old to hunt
FOR EVERYONE WHO IS COMMENTING ABOUT THE 'ABUSE' YOU PROBABLY DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HORSES OR THIS SPORT . HORSES THAT GO HUNTING LOVE IT THEY LOVE GALLOPING AND THE DOGS LOVE IT JUST AS MUCH THEY ARE NOT KILLING A FOX AND I CAN TELL YOU THE RIDERS ABSOLUTELY ADORE THEIR HORSES SO QUIT IT
OH YEH AND THE HORSES LOVE GETTING BEATEN AND SMACKED SO THIS IS ALRIGHT
U mad?
I WISH U BURN IN HELL, HOW WOULD U FEEL IF U GOT WIPPED AND SPACKED EVEN IF U DID NOTHING WRONG??
You people should be ashamed of yourself. Forcing the horses to jump over a ditch. 😡😡😡😡
Yeah most young horses to go out hunting educated so nobody who is ride and then gets hurt in the future
Idiots want to send them into a dressage test just to laugh them out of the arena 😂
the hunt is horrible in all ways
How is it its drag hunting search it up
Hate to say it but the English hunting looks so much better. Fast fields and lots of jumping...this looks crap in comparison.
Yes but the that type of hunting is following a laid scent. Our hunt is over natural country wherever the fox takes us.
Poor dogs to scared to come out the trailer
No there not scared to come out there trained not to come out until said
Those horses shouldn't be trotting in muddy serfaces.
Will all you people putting up stupid comments please learn to spell. 🙈🙈
Poor horses
Most of these persons should not own a horse.... So sad.
Is it an American thing to care about the welfare of your horse?? Hunts here dont do this level of ignorance to their horses and God forbid any one of these people praise their animals. Sad!
These horses are treated with no respect this is horrible 😡
Poor dogs
Running on paved road!!! What the hell is wrong with you people!!! That causes hoof pain, splints on the cannon bone, possible road founder, early onset of coffin joint arthritis.
Its because we can't stop how about u have a go ....
@@bloodyhellequestrian384 I happen to be a very experienced rider. Have done plenty of cross country jumping, and I would be able to bring my horse down to walk. Thing is, nobody in this video is even trying. Bottom line is fox hunters( atleast this group) don't seem to care much about their horses.
@@lisabaker9036 emmmm u won't be able to our hunting ur horse will turn into another horse and cross contry is different than this
