Idk who the hell these people are but if I ever saw horses being treated like that or forced to go up that muddy jump I’m not sure what I would do but I’d probably be arrested
I ride horses, and this is not the proper way, smacking your horse to get it to up a jump thats up to their shoulders with little/to no momentum will cause injury, especially when it is wet, and slippery, there must have been another way around because of cause these horses will struggle and to smack and kick them when they do not it, i mean i now it is to motivate the horse just, you saw them in the video, they fell on their legs and the younger riders are learning that this is what to do to the horse when they refuse something, thats to hard they push them and push them, until they jump up and fall down on their knees....
How can you make such a stupid comment. None of those horses got hurt and if they did they would get all the care they need. These riders mind their horses and often go without for themselves to take care of their horses.

i watched the video and your right i used to hunt a long time ago when i was younger and we never made our horses go through something like that most of those horses will have hurt their legs while trying to jump that
I don’t know who sets the route for this hunt but that early “jump” was really a terrible choice. My brother has 10 horses and rides often in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, so they are no strangers to mud and water. But mud is a condition you try to avoid. You certainly don’t jump your mount up into a puddle of it. That was a clear risk for injury. I’m not even going to show him this video. It’s well and good to ford streams and jump when necessary. I don’t see how that particular scramble could have been necessary.
