Kurt, I had squamous cell carcinoma just below my left ear. As you said, the biopsy results take a couple weeks. My biopsy confirmed it was squamous. They numbed me with lidocaine. It was weird watching them cut into my face out of the corner of my eye. Didn't feel a thing, and so far, all good. That was over two years ago. The hardest part was my job as a firefighter. The stitches were exactly where my mask goes, and where the headsets we were while in the truck fits. All will be fine.

Kurt, I have a herniated disc. In my experience steroids and chiropractic treatment provide temporary relief. Core strengthening and stretching are the only remedies I have found that work long term for me. I hope and pray for the best for you.

Sorry about that, Kurt, but it is important that you're taking care of it.
I had one mole on my left wrist, sun hitting my hand when I drove. It was melanoma, so they proceeded with surgery, then with a colonoscopy, found out I had advanced colon cancer, and no symptoms.
They did everything needed including surgery and two years of chemo. I changed my diet, no sugar, ate healthier and I say after all I went thru it wasn't my turn to go.
Its been 9 years, all good so far..
    Take care, get checked!!
    Think positive, get better

Kurt I've had 2 back surgeries over 20yr. Period, 2 herniated discs each ruptured about 10yrs apart (1999and2011) I tried to work through the rupture in 2011 that that was a mistake it caused permanent miserable nerve damage in the left leg, if you have a disc rupture you will probably not be able to take the pain for very long I would highly advise surgery to remove the pressure on nerve or risk permanent nerve damage, it really messed up my left leg. I do feel for you, God bless hope it goes good for you.

Kurt, there are no good cancers. I agree, what you have is minor. I had prostate cancer, so I had it removed, luckily it hadn't spread to far. After seeing my father suffer from it and the chemo. I was determined NOT to do that. Now most prostate cancer is survivable, but not 35 years ago. Good luck luck with this and hopefully there is no more.

(I was a suntanned god in my youth😂).... but the skin damage caught up... two malignant patvhes ( of the slow grow kind) have been removed and i do a yearly face cream that kills cells that are/were in the very early stages of cancerous growth... the face exploded for a month... but it killed the bad cells and gave me new skin...yikes.. sunburn gets you eventually..🎉

I have two ruptured discs, as well. Both from a workplace injury in 1981 as a punk 20 year-old. First thing they wanted to do was operate. But they needed as much swelling to subside as possible. Two weeks later I cancelled the surgery at the last minute, much to the chagrin of everyone. It just didn’t feel ‘right.’ The whole thing felt rushed. I also had more than one person tell me, “It’s rare to only ever have one back surgery.” That’s all it took. I discovered chiropractic and the rest is history.
The best thing I ever did…and this is a tough one…and I’m sincere when I say this…I was built as a little smaller version of you for much of my life. But the very best thing I did for my back was reinvent myself by losing weight. A lot of it. You’d be surprised how great your spine, and knees, can feel with a considerable weight loss. In my case - over 30 lbs. Did I keep it off all these years? No. But over the years my back would let me know when I was carrying too much. A quick 10 lb adjustment here and there worked wonders. And kept me off the operating table thus far at age 62.
Good luck. It sucks feeling like you feel. Been there. But better days are out there, if you want them bad enough. Only you can answer that.

Man, I wish you would notice this comment and go find those back machines I was telling you about. 20 years ago I had a crazy back problem. I accidentally found a clinic with these specialized machines and after three minute visits I have never had an issue since. Before that I was going to chiropractors and it was pretty much useless. If these machines were in every city in America we would have 95% less back problems. miracle machines

I think every spine doctor has noticed that our spine is not intended for our walking on our hind legs. My spine surgeon claimed that every human spine is messed up by age 30 and that the best evidence of its condition is whether it hurts or not. Of course he was only acquainted with painful spines that are likely to look bad.

As someone who has had 12 lower back injections for herniated disk’s, I understand the pain. But Kurt, have the doctors check your hips. My back problems were caused by my hips. Also, have you looked into getting a T.I.N.S unit? It is like electric shock therapy. Very low pulses that help with pain discomfort. I use my regularly.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I have had back surgery twice for 2 herniated discs in my lumbar spine. The 1st one was an absolute train wreck but the 2nd one went well. I would recommend against back surgery if you can avoid it but sadly I could not as I put it off as long as I could to the point of nearly loosing my ability to walk. Tried 3 rounds of injections before first back surgery and they did nothing. If you read up on them you may decide you don't want anymore also. It's rough having a bad back, I wish you the best going forward. My neck is starting to mess up now and it has me scared as my neck has always been a very sensitive part of my body. All this and I'm only 41.

22 years ago I had two bulging discs. I went through chiropractic route they did rupture causing no feeling from my waist down.
They did emergency surgery but only about 30% of the feeling came back. I walk with two braces and a cane .
My trucking carreer stopped that day. It took two years to walk again. For me surgery would have q been a better option but no two cases are the same. Just be very careful the spine is nothing to take lightly.

This past May I was diagnosed with Melanoma, which I originally thought was a cyst until it showed its ugly face - literally. I was overseas sailing around the world. Well, that ended quickly. I spent 3 months dealing with socialized medicine (pure f'ing evil) trying to get some kind of path forward to no avail and ended up return stateside to deal with it. My tumor was growing like a weed, and was the size of a grapefruit, half inside and half outside my arm completely exposed and smelling like death. I was prepared and already had accepted the worst, I was very lucky in that it did not spread and stayed localized with only one lymph node affected by it. I started Immunotherapy (so glad to avoid chemo) in September and have had three treatments so far and the forth next Monday. My tumor is less than 25% what it was at the start, no longer smells of death, although I have this wicked hole in my arm where it ruptured through that the skin is slowing closing up - absolutely incredible. Monday we will decide whether to operate to remove the rest or let the treatments run their course and let my natural immune system kill it off. Melanoma is a bastard but the new treatments are absolute miracles. Good luck with yours!

A year ago I was receiving radiation and chemo for throat cancer that was that same type of cancer cells. The cure really worked me over as in I will never be the same as I was. Please take this serious Kurt.

I had spinal done today. Very uncomfortable feeling. I used to be a CNA/MEDICAL ASSISTANT. If a provider tells you ,"you not in pain". Very inappropriate report it to administration department. Your right. Keep going strong blessings and prayers

gotta be patient with cortisone injections. They do take 2-3 days to work. Should feel some relief then. I would NOT go see chiropractor right after injection. Let the meds do their work. Don't be your own worst enemy. I would give it a week before going back on the road.

Check out TOPS surgery. Heard it is for the back and they are only doing it at MAYO and CLEVELAND CLINIC. I talked with a guy who had it done and he says he is 110%

Just got home from a six day stay in the hospital for the very same thing. Large lump but the cancer moved deeper into my nerves so inpatient operation was needed. 7 hours worth. Hope they get all yours. Good luck and keep on trucking

Do NOT put off anything with your squamous cell carcinoma! Please! Yes, it is often curable, but I recently lost my husband of 50 years to that. Yes, I want to scare you, because I care about you and your family.

Your cancer doctor suspects you have a squamous-cell cancer. The biopsy will decide. If you do, you need Mohs surgery. It's done with local anesthesia, and the surgeon removes thin layers of skin one layer at a time and examines each for cancer. This procedure continues until only cancer-free tissue is found. You seem to be someone whose ruptured spinal disks need surgical repair, since you probably cannot do the amount of resting that can lead to more than temporary relief. A chiropractor cannot remove the extruded pulp that's causing your pain. I've had both the cancer and disk surgeries, with excellent results. Just protect your skin from the sun, and the squamous cells will treat you right.

Anything you weren't born with, is age-related deterioration.
If they say it takes 3 days to work, don't make decisions based upon it not working by the time your burgers are handed to you.
The over/under line in Vegas on how many McDonalds trips you'll make before starting your cleaner new lifestyle, is not 1.5 McDonalds trips, in fact I'd take the over if it were 149.5 visits. I'm betting you'll change when they threaten you with imminent death, and it looks like you're not even close yet. I'd love to be proven wrong.
I just had an internal biopsy pushed out to February, because my November appointment for it got changed to removing a stent that unexpectedly had to be placed between my bladder and a kidney, when they spent 3x as long as expected removing a stone in October. If a shot bothers you, I hope you never have a stent removed through your bladder and urinary tract, without any sedation. It wasn't as painful as it was downright weird. They said it would be 3 or 4 out of 10 for pain/discomfort. I'd call it 0 or 1 for pain, 2 for discomfort, 8 for strangeness. But I can put up with anything I'm prepared for, and the serious monkey business only lasted 10 or 20 seconds, the worst of it a second or two.
