      This case looks very interesting to me because it has air cooler clearance for a Noctua DH15 if I'm not mistaken. I'm planning a combined streaming and gaming PC with specs that can handle streaming with OBS in 1080p60 medium x264 and gaming simultaneously. It would also be my streaming rig when playing on my PS5 so mATX is necessary for the extra PCIe slot for an Elgato 4K60 Pro.
      I'm not sure if a 12700K is enough for gaming and streaming in 1080p60 medium, or if 12900K is needed. I also prefer air cooling due to it being less noisy with high quality fans. Would you consider making a video where you test if it can handle a 12700K and 3080TI, and if that config can handle gaming and streaming simultaneously without overheating? And if it runs into problems with fps or streaming quality, but cooling is no problem, then test again with 12900K to see if the case could handle that?
      It would be so nice if I could avoid building a dedicated streaming PC.
      EDIT: Btw, does the case support flipping the front panel upside down and mounting the front IO in the bottom? I like to have my PC on a shelf where it is impossible to reach the top without standing on something xd

      AND it supports radiators on top AND front! in matx that's not always true.

    My first pc was an atx and I was like wow that thing is huge, my friend even had a full atx which was even bigger, I then built a few more for myself over the years but used to build Matx for family as most would never expand. I then built myself a couple of ITX cases for sleek builds which is fun but cable management is tight and was having cooling issues (mainly gpu). My most recent build is the macube 110 which I have modified the grill on my CNC for better air flow. I’m very excited to see matx coming back as it’s the perfect balance!

    I bought the TD500 Mesh about 18 months ago after seeing your review and I've loved it.
    The only thing I'd change is a little more space (even a couple of mm) for cable management and a usb-c port on the front panel.

    One thing all of the case manufacturers should do, is make small mATX cases for those that like building smaller builds. FSP made one CT350 Plus, and it has all that you need. You can put a bigger PSU, all of the GPUs you can think of, and a lot of cooling. This case is dope BTW.

    Hi, thanks for the great video. Im gonna use this case for my first build and i'm a little scared of little cooling, so I was thinking of buying more fans of the same type that comes with the case, then I got three options:
    A) 2 intakes at the front and 2 other intakes at the top with 1 exhaust at the rear (buying the 3 pack 120mm sickleflow)
    B)3 intakes on the inside of the front panel and 1 exhaust on the rear (buying 2 more 120mm fans)
    C)2 intakes on the front and 1 exhaust on the rear (1 more 120mm)

    But oh god yes, those times when i take of that glass panel i forget how good my build actually is. You see clearly that its all white, a white build.

    just to make sure several things if you're going to use a matx case: check your motherboard pcie location. some mobos uses layout with pcie x1 located on top of the pcie x16, hence you will use the 2nd and 3rd gpu slot on cases like on the video which only have 4 slots available. if your motherboard layout is what i mentioned above, check how many space your gpu use. normal gpus uses 2 slots which means there's only a tiny room available for your gpu to breath if you're using matx cases with non perforated psu shroud, but you still won't get any temperature issues with that, except that some your gpu fans might hit a usb3 or sata cables because of the limited space.
    TL;DR: check how many slots your gpu use and check your motherboard layouts before buying or using a matx case.
    a good example of this is the gigabyte b450m-s2h motherboard. i'll guarantee you that your 2 slot gpu fans will get stuck because of the protruding usb3 and sata cables thanks to the poor motherboard design choice.

    • @AndrewTSq
      @AndrewTSq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      my old case which was a non brand was much better in this regard. and it also came with those "sticker" cable ties that you can mount where ever you want

  • @woeichyuanleong924
    @woeichyuanleong924 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    cable management is the most challenging part for matx case, I owned a MB320L from cooler master, which the height is a bit lower than this TD300. the rest are basically the same.

    • @AndrewTSq
      @AndrewTSq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just did a build with this chassie, and my old non.brand case was much better in this regard. It just needed like 5mm extra space and it would have been a breeze. Same thing on the gpuside. The powercables for the gpu is touching the glass, which they did not do on old case. It looks really great in person, the front mesh gives it a holographic look. I also loved that it was possible to remove the top of the case,

    I would like to see an upgrade to the NR400 with some of the upgrades here like the removable top panel and the built in fan hub. It just me for sure but I just don't get the crowded front especially in matx dimensions. But as always good video 👍

    The chassis is virtually identical to the Cooler Master MB NR400 case except for a couple of small but welcome improvements like the removable top panel, a built-in PWM+ARGB hub and wider screw slots at the top and bottom for mounting 3x 120mm fans on the front.
    The latter is particularly welcome for me as I had to widen the screw holes on my NR400 with a special file (didn't have a drill at the time) just so I could mount the top and bottom 120mm fans because the holes were a mere milimetre too small for the supplied screws.

    Love the real time raytracing on the ram sticks. Case is like a mix of the td500 and the mb320 i think? The cable management on the latter was a bit lacking as well, it was ultimately enough but somehow felt cramped. I do like it though looks slick

    Any chance of a solid or mesh side panel? I had a TG panel break and ruin a machine so I have sworn off TG. Chunks got into the power supply and that threw it into a 6900XTs fans and it was a huge mess. All because someone thought it would be a good idea to throw a ball for our retriever in the house and he is sweet but like a bull in a China shop when he is chasing tennis balls. Slammed into the case, it bounced against the leg of the desk and that was the end of the TG and a few very expensive components

Other than that, it is a very easy case to work with. I do not even need to tie the cables at the back as I could just stuff them underneath the lazy way.

  • @gautam7532

    Hi Nick... Cosair's closest - a quasi 3000D already exists, as the 220T, though that can just accommodate a full ATX motherboard. I use the white version of the 220T and Mrs's PC is built in the black version. Same issues such as 3 fans in the front but can't do a 360 rad... would be nice to see a comparison between CM TD300 and the Cosair 220T. 220T can accommodate a 300mm GPU, so the longer cards like Strix cards just too big...

    The removable top should be standard. I actually had a brilliant PC-case back in the late 90ies. You could remove the whole backplate where the motherboard sits, and also the supports for graphics card went with that + psu. So you built your computer "outside" and then just put in the whole computer in its enclosure.

    A bit of a strange and weird thing about 12th gen. There are some people reporting that a 12th gen paired with an AMD GPU makes for a cooler running CPU. Something about when the CPU isn't really being utilized in a game, it ramps its power usage down, but doesn't happen with Nvidia GPUs--it just keeps drinking the power, even if not really being used. All while doing the same work. Wendell, over at Level1, also noticed this, but paired with an Asrock GPU and an Asrock mobo. YMMV. We need more data to confirm. But, strange, all the same.
    Might be something to look into when hunting for parts? Just thought I'd share.

      Btw vertical GPU in a match case could work. I had my pulse rx5700xt vertically mounted in my meshify c mini

      It's literally an NR400 with a different front panel. They even cheapened out on the lower re-usable PCI-e covers lol.

    really great review :) nick
    as you said a beefy thick card can fit in like the trio or rog strix but would it okay? for cooling bcs the gap between PSU shroud and the GPU's fan would be very less also in the gap with front fans?

    I got his exact same case but I got air cooling for my CPU. Do you think it can fit a 280mm aio on top?

    Love the video! Im using this video as a template for my upcoming build when GPU prices go down but I do have a question though, I have never tried aio coolers before, would it be fine to use the same aio you used for a 12400f? I worry alot of about temperatures because I live in a tropical country and I'd appreciate yours or anyones help answering this question.
    Cheers from the Philippines!
