I’ve been watching you since middle school now I’m in college working on my bachelors in elementary education! I’m so great full to have you as a guide through my teaching journey♥️
Thank you for another fab video Michelle! I've been watching your videos since I got my first teaching job and was finding it tough (I am in my fifth year now) and I honestly feel like you have shaped me as a teacher. I was so inspired by your Google Classrooms videos that I decided to get my Level 1 and 2 Google Certifications and now I am the guide for our Student Digital Leaders at school too. I love my job and have you to thank for the confidence I have these days! If you're ever looking for a teacher pal on the other side of the pond I would be happy to be it! Thanks again, Pip
These are awesome tips! You’re definitely right where everyone runs to the Dollar store for storage bins, but it’d be best to invest in sturdier ones that will last longer! Thanks Michelle!
Thank you for the helpful organizational tips, Michelle. I am also a fan of clear bins. I am teaching in a hybrid setting with some students in-person and others on Zoom at the same time. I have a large clear bin for each student’s materials because they can’t share anything due to COVID. I can easily tell when a student is running low on supplies. I also love those plastic “woven” baskets. I use a lot of neutral colors in my room, so those would fit well. Thank you for sharing these products and your tips. I hope you are doing well during this crazy time in teaching! 😊
I just want to say that I so appreciate the enthusiasm for teaching that you convey in these videos. I teach 7th grade and have been fully virtual since March 13, 2020. I used to look forward to going to work every day but struggle now with motivation. Hearing your enthusiasm is a great pick-me-up, so thank you!
This is awesome! I wish there was a Lakeshore learning near me in VA. I love the clear bins with lids and the plastic bigger bins that are dishwasher safe!! Maximizing your space is the game changer, it takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master. I wish my dad maximized his space, I helped him out way too much before school in my high school years!
I loved your video so inspiring. I love order stuff!! However I don't have a fixed classroom in my school. But I'll save the ideas just in case I can use them someday!!
Great tips and fun video as usual! 💚I squawked out loud when you had the cameo appearance from BBT! Thanks for all of your awesome down to earth entertaining advice💚
Aww, thank you so much Wendy! 🖤 Honestly, I don't use any fancy products. I use Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo and conditioner and I spray a coconut oil on my hair after my shower!
This has been so motivational to me as a future educator. Many of these strategies are realistic and easy to implement. Does anyone have any more tips for classroom organization?
lol...so great to hear ideas from other organization freaks like me...at my school they know everything is my world is crazy organized and matchy-matchy (their term for me!). My room is black, white, and lime green for the last 4 years, so the neon green stuff interests me. Thank you. Wishing I lived in the States so I could purchase some of those magnetic book shelves. Brilliant! Thank you for all of your work on these videos. In the last year, I've learned so much from you as we, here in Ontario, Canada, have been online teaching. Heading back to the classroom tomorrow morning. Bye, bye, online teaching..may it never rear its ugly head again!!
Those book bins also make excellent Chromebook storage. We have one to one Chromebooks, but no storage carts. I ordered two sets of calender numbers, one taped to the Chromebook, and one to the bin. It also holds there personal earbuds. Best solution I have used in ten years.
Michelle, My goal is to organize my 6th grade classroom for the next school year, so this video came in at a perfect time! However, now you have made my choices for storage bins even harder!!!
THANK YOU! It's such a shock for every teacher when they enter the field just HOW MUCH MONEY we all spend on our classroom! You can see in my classroom set up videos i worship clear bins as well. They help you PACK and UNPACK your classroom quickly as you know where everything is and what's in the bin. I just posted a video entitled #FirstYearTeacherAdvice that was a tip in it! I learned so much in my first year teaching ESL Middle School Social Studies. Your video just proves how much TEACHERS ROCK!
For those viewers in Canada, Wintergreen Learning Materials is a distributor for Lakeshore. I have also had good success using the Sterilite clip boxes (easy to pack and store).
Good evening! I hope you're doing well. I enjoy watching your videos, however, I am curious where you found your black and white strip pen container? I have been looking all over the place for something like that for my classroom. Thank you in advance.
Organization is always a struggle 🤔 Im currently majoring in Graphic Design with the goal of becoming an animator/art teacher. This video definitely helps! Ive been watching for maybe two years? This channel defiantly makes me want to work harder in school to be a teacher.
Thank you so much for posting these videos! I have been following you for a while, and this is by far one of the most helpful videos you have posted. The clear storage containers are genius. I do have a quick question: The Lake Shore Learning clear bins are pretty expensive, are there any other websites you would recommend clear plastic bins that are just as durable? Thank you so much for everything!
Thanks Madeleine! I'm happy you enjoyed this video! 🖤 The only other clear containers I have used are the latch bins by Sterilite! They are also pricey... but they last years!
The Target Dollar section is truly a teacher trap! My classroom is full of great finds! Literally, my room tour video should just be a giant Target ad. #SponserUsTarget Cute finds! also the dollar store does have some nice things and it’s only a dollar! What place to save other than the dollar store!? ❤️
I agree but I will say that the bins and containers I have gotten from the Target dollar spot are not very durable at all. I think they are slightly higher quality than the dollar store but no where near as durable as the bins I mention in this video.
I think it’s good for all students to have access to supplies! You have to put in the 10 extra minutes at the beginning of the year to teach them how, but then it’s accessible to all! That way it’s not just deemed to certain students.
I'm referring to supplies that I have bought with my own money... dry erase markers, Mr. Sketch markers, etc. These are typically not for student use... they are supplies for the teacher.
Could you please make a video about teachers' backstage prep? I've understood, than US teachers buy their class supplies with their own money. Is it so? So if a teacher is not willing to spend their money, children don't have books, glue sticks ets? I teach in Czech rep. And most schools provide the basic supplies for teachers
Great video: 1. Clear storage containers for supplies 2. Investing in durable and washable bins 3. Use color coding 4. Maximize your space. "Try to use every square inch of your classroom."

Thank you for all these tips.
Thank you for watching Liz! 🖤
LOVING that sweater!
Thank you so much Lupita!
Nice suggestions! Definitely getting those magnetic book shelves because the rooms in my school all have 1-2 walls that are magnetized.
Oh my goodness... magnetic walls sound AMAZING! The magnetic bookshelves are great because they actually hold a lot of weight in them!
I love your videos, Michelle I even Subscribed to your channel and did the notification bell
