The efforts generated by the spectrum in the structure are absolute values, which cannot be combined with gravitational loads (which have a sign convention according to the direction of the force). How can you give a sign to the forces generated by the spectrum and be able to combine them with gravitational charges and so on?
Nice explanation. But I have one question how can I take response spectrum in negative x and negative y direction. Can I take the positive values for both? If so RS in negative x will have the same result as RS in positive x direction and also it will be the same also in y direction .any idea?
Sir what about the design of the prestressed slab & beam, can please make a detailed video on it, means how to design on software(etabs) & how to provide detailing

To make more economical design shall we use only spectrum load combinations ? or we have to use static combinations also ?
thank you very much
Hi sandeep, will the etabs design and provide the reinforcement for a member by taking max and min values ?
+ve gives max sagging, -ve gives max hogging, ETABS designs for the most critical one at each 13 section throughout the beam length
Thankyou
Sir can you explain more about what you mean by the 13 section? Thank you 🙏
Informative video
Sir in load case you took 1.5{DL+RSx} but in calculation u took 1.5{DL+SDL+RSx} ...Why did u include SDL.. is it right or wrong
DL means Dead Load, in the combination all Deads loads are added …. D+SDL is the total Dead load
