If you watch a video as soon as it goes public, sometimes not all features are available. I didn't realize that myself until I uploaded some of my own videos. Even the resolutions are restricted. There's a processing time of hours, sometimes a day or so for longer videos. A video will first unlock only at low resolution and no subtitles and then as the processing completed other resolutions and subtitles unlock over time. As a creator there may be a way around this by uploading and then delaying making them public, but I don't upload enough to know from experience. I just know new videos don't always have everything unlocked, resolution limitations and subtitles being the most obvious (to me). I'm not sure if there's other things restricted until fully processed. On the user side you need both the TH-cam processing to finish and then a browser cache refresh. (Usually automatic with a browser reload but not always)
As much as I like Dr.Mike, sometimes the satire jokes gets in the way of learning. Specially if you speak another language than English; satire, sarcasm, slang and cultural specifics, doesn't translate well. We need more channel like this; a straight YES, NO, MAYBE and NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE.
I notice in this and a previous video the specific mention of "black" coffee ... wondering if you are implying that coffee with milk might, for whatever reason ???, impact the health benefits of polyphenols contained in coffee beans.
So the study supposedly showed that they lost 15% of their body weight in fat, but 10% overall, so they must have been lifting heavy weights and eating a high percentage of protein to increase lean body weight that much. There is probably no way they could have done that in 22 weeks. That should have been a red flag for Oz but he doesn’t seem to have a red flag meter.
Was the study retracted before or after that Dr. Oz episode? Do we know the reason for the retraction? Not that I'm a Dr. Oz fan -- far from it. Also, I've never watched Dr. Mike. Now, I can see myself watching him when I need a jolt of Bronx humor.
Doctors are not scientists and doctor organizations act as a union not a scientific organization. Doctors do have some science training and a little bit of statistics. They sometimes get additional training and do scientific research such as Peter Attia when he went to the NIH and NIC. Attia's training and experience is apparent when he analyzes studies. Hopefully Dr Oz recommended the bean before the study was the retracted. He should have mentioned the small number of participants, need for replication and potential weaknesses in the the study. In his defense the type of study is generally one the strongest -double blind, placebo controlled. But as I understand it he did push magic elixirs on various shows.
it's a catch-22-situation(!). but what He says about magic is plain wrong-I hang out with Fairies and Unicorns on a regular basis, We meet up for a cup of purple coffee in a neighbouring Universe and We're All underweight now. regards.
Thanks for the feedback - I was hesitant to release this, actually. It was worth it if you got a chuckle out of it (and hopefully learned a thing or two!)

However giving a sort of a " peer review " of popular influencers with huge audiences and their claims is a big positive ,so thanks for that Nic. Edited comment to address misinterpretations and expand on originally provided information that was brought to my attention by certain members of the audience.
Well the “TV quack” had a huge audience and influence (and has a real MD degree) so ya, it makes sense for someone knowledgeable to parse his claims. No need to be snarky about other people’s degrees. A PhD has a doctorate.
@MelloCello55 I have no problem with people being actual doctors either MD or PhD. I call Oz a quack because he pushes unproven stuff to his enormous audience and that does harm.

Zero Side Effects, could be because they started with 50 volunteers, dosed them before the study started, and eliminated those who had adverse reactions.
Great video! ZumRX, which is a green coffee bean extract, is use in weight loss and pre workout products. Not for weight loss but for its slower delivery of caffeine for a prolonged energy hit. It’s supposed to deliver not more than 55% of the total caffeine at 1 hour and not less than 80% at 6 hours. Because of its polyphenol content it’s suppose to have nitric oxide inducing benefits and help with lipid metabolism. But there are a number of other extracts and foods that have a good amount of polyphenols in them. Keep up the great content.

No, milk is likely fine, but the actual compounds that benefit are the coffee itself.
He can't sense red flags, only green notes
But as I understand it he did push magic elixirs on various shows.
it's a catch-22-situation(!). but what He says about magic is plain wrong-I hang out with Fairies and Unicorns on a regular basis, We meet up for a cup of purple coffee in a neighbouring Universe and We're All underweight now. regards.
That was so funny - more of these pls!
Thanks for the feedback - I was hesitant to release this, actually. It was worth it if you got a chuckle out of it (and hopefully learned a thing or two!)
I was saving this as a reward to watch after my workout. 3:20 SAME and your face(s) make me laugh.
If this is your first introduction to Dr Mike, his channel is a great science-based source of weight/strength training information...with a batch of laughs (he is a real potty-mouth and plays with social no-nos, but knows his stuff when it comes to training, nutrition, and weight loss or gain)
In Wikipedia Dr.Oz is listed just as Mehmet Cengiz Öz. Does this mean the "Dr" is just for show?
Learn to read more than a headline.
Wikipedia lists everyone by their names not their title. His education is listed in the article (md = medical doctor)
Your reading comprehension sucks if you managed to find Wikipedia and failed to notice the information you asked is answered there.
White bean extract?
Does anyone know, why such a solid video does NOT have captions? I have to abandon it now, so if they will become available at any time, can anyone notice me, please?
Hey - I just checked on the back end and TH-cam is still processing the captions. Nothing I can do, but wait.
@@Physionic subs are there, video watched, now for the algoooooo!
3 doctors and one bean
I don't want results, I want problems always!
I can’t wait 15 min to finish the video when my comment can be so early. But knowing the punchline is going to be a doozy I am going to put it on 1.5 speed. So far I have to say Dr. Mike is pretty funny.
Nic, please, pretty please do one on "the unified theory of sleep: eukaryotes endosymbiotic relationship with mitochondria and rem the push back response for awakening"
It's a life or death quest for me as I have little sws and the connection here to my problem seems to be my best fit to my experience here with other metabolic effects too. Perhaps cyanide (i work hplc), perhaps thc, perhaps my own northern uncoupled mitochondria, who knows. You if anyone. 🙏
2:14 need to see the study for the magic claims re age 8
"Hello everybody"
"Hi Dr Nic"
You have to do a Simpsons meme
Can’t wait for Dr. Ducette to weigh in
Looks like everyone is a doctor now on the social media or claim to be. I know Nic and Mike are real doctors, and so is Oz while in my opinion he shouldn't be one. So now we arrived at having commentary on commentary on TV quack doctor. Alright. Weird times.
@@MelloCello55 For whatever reason my comment didn't get through. I have nothing against people being actual doctors. I am against pushing unproven products by a TV doctor to his audience. That does harm.
@@demonfedor3748 Right, but saying “everyone is a doctor now” implies that people without degrees that confer the title are using the title.
@@MelloCello55 They do. It adds weight to their words. Sometimes they have no title sometimes they have doctor of Chiropractic title which honestly makes them as much of a doctor as sport glasses make you an athlete.
Does Israeletz do clinical research studies?
He holds a PhD - that does mean that he did have to at one point.
I would guess, though, that he currently does not.
His "knowledge" is second hand at best.
Coffee is a coffee bean extract.
The “magic” is the humans will say/do anything or fame or fortune…imagine that!
I would like to hear your thoughts on krill oil and its potential to reduce Alzheimer’s, as discussed in Nick Norwitz's latest video. Thank you.
It is kinda wacky how some studies have such a small sample size, I get it due to budget and getting participants can be a challenge.
Coffee speeds up my digestion ie poo.😊
Whatever you say, Dr. Physionics
What a twist!
Hehe :)
About the metabolism. He was saying that they are 2400 kcal and burned 2000 kcal bmi which is an increase in weight of 400 kcal. Critical thinking is your friend.
Jesus you phrased it almost as poorly as Dr Oz. 400 cals was the approximate deficit... 17 lbs x 3500cals/lb ÷ 22 weeks ÷ 7 days/week = 386 cals/day
Participants in the study we around 170 pounds? I'M 170 pounds at 5'6". I'M overweight?
I unsubbed from Dr. Mike when he claimed that canola oil consumption is not harmful.
Makes a differece if it's GMO or not organic. Autor of "Seeds of Deception" was on CoastAM the other night he's censored off all other media.
That's called 'throwing the baby out with the bathwater'
...your loss, is basically what it amounts to.
Well, it isn't. But from this video, Dr. Mike doesn't look at original sources, which stops me from being interested in him.
Seems like your impressed with Israetel.
I'm not impressed with the juice monkey.
The average make would burn about 1600-1800 calories/day just breathing ...
This should start with if the results support drinking more coffee, so we know if we want to watch... 😅
That was a thing... the punchline was a kicker though.
The science white hats like Dr. Nic will be very busy in the coming years.
It's the holy grail stack
My youtube spheres are intersecting. 😁
Also worth nothing that green tea extract can cause liver failure. People just need to eat less and get off their asses more (not necessarily "move more" or "do exercise") and get up off that sofa, chair, or bed and live a little.
Zero Side Effects, could be because they started with 50 volunteers, dosed them before the study started, and eliminated those who had adverse reactions.
Certainly possible - that would need to be reported, which it wasn't, but who knows...
Yeah. Dokter Oz lost me when he claimed these people had a Basal Metabolism of 400 Calories per day. Did he mean to say 1,400? That's plausible.
coffee beans brown roasted NOT green
Doc, Doc, goose
I forgot I was watching nics video, you scared me there
Am I that ugly? 😂
@ more like I scroll too much.
“There are too many doctors up in here.” -Nelly
“But Nic there is a major oversight you over looked” I say in the comments
“What’s that? Something I missed?” Replies Nic
“You missed the part about Dr Israel being HUGE! After not agreeing with him, though he was basically right, he’ll eat you for breakfast ”
(Contents removed by TH-cam censor team) Yells Nic
RFK is having a "#>*°+~" start. Oops
better off w OZZY...! "no offence Ozzy"
this was hard to listen to..always appreciate info though
Dr. Oz should have talked about dr.Pepper the miracle soda, so that there would have been 4 Dr's in this title.
I am sure Dr. Oz would love to get Dr.Pepper money and totally prepared to sacrifice his first born, so this is not far fetched.
I I stopped watching "Doctor Mike" a couple years ago, when he (back then an adamant CICO proponent, dont know what he tells now), claimed that he's not only shure its only calories, he knows it for a fact. because "we have read the studies. ALL OF THEM"
As "Dr" Oz is going to hold a position in Trump's benevolent regime of truth and light, I would curb my criticism if I were you or Dr Mike...
@mbarley
That's a...
'compliance beforehand' stance - for passive cowards...
I sincerely doubt it's a strategy Dr. Nic or Dr. Mike would consider (obviously)😊
Just my 2cents...but I do know you were kidding😆
@barbarafairbanks4578 I was kidding but as I am nit an American I can act 'brave' without implications. Let's hope our bravery won't be tested as shameless people the likes of dr Oz assume positions of power
