John is such a stand up guy! Took the time to look at a data log screenshot and shared his opinion, much appreciated. The whole LHT team is the best in the business, wish I was a part of their team! Love the testing you guys are doing, it's a very welcome addition to your videos for those that crave information and don't have the funds to do what you are able to do!
Love it! The wheels look great. Great fitment and no need to roll the fenders so thats a winner!!! The color is really cool, it almost looks like the original Kaiser Silver in some angles.
John I love your enthusiasm and your expertise in what you do and somehow maintain a humble attitude…. If I had your knowledge my head would be so big lol … thank you for the channel and keep it up!!!
That tire size looks really good with that rim on that car. Well done. I appreciate the detail you bring to this type of content. And everyone is a bit different in how they do their stuff/keep their cars, for me it's just cool to see them done nicely and cleanly, even if you move on. It keeps the next thing coming!
Love the Q&A format John more please , but maybe not always at 2:00 am. I definitely know what it means to find a good “wheel guy” when replacing tyres, I always try to encourage them with a few extra bucks if they do a good job. I know it’s not the right way to go about it but if it works , it definitely cheaper than having your rim refinished. Keep up the great work.
Yes. I never ask for cheaper rates, I want better work as it is cheaper in the long run. I had a tire guy remove the ties on the NSX, not only did he damage the wheels, but 2 tires as well. Then the ZO6 Carbon, another guy scratched 3 of the wheels and ruined 3 tires. Its unbelievable and frustrating. Carlos did perfect.
The things you say and the quality that comes out of your shop at LHT definitely resonates with me, John. Those wheels look amazing, btw.👌 Great video and I enjoyed the bonus Q&A session. That ol' exhaust system at the end looked like quite a workout.😅 Have a good evening, buddy.
Omg 😱😱 I cant believe you got the wheels and tyres fitted up then removed them all again just to weigh them 😂😂😂😂😂 I'm loving this s2000 build looking forward to seeing it in the flesh soon
Nice video John I’m super excited to do my turbo , Greetings from Texas, a big hug to you and Team LHT, good health and life so that you continue enjoying your hobby, Let's Gooooo Baby….. Honda S2000 PR in The House 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Loving this build! I know you don't want to roll the fenders, but I'd recommend at least rolling the fronts if you plan to take ot to the track anytime. On stock AP2V1s, just a bit lower than yours during a sharp corner and a bit of curb ride the tire grabbed the fender and pulled the inner fender lip down flat. Happened tp a few other buddies as well on various track and autoX events.
I really love this oem+ builds what you are doing! Working as a calibration engineer its really cool to ser that old hondas are capable for the same torque qurve with a grear calibration :) keep it doing guys!!!
great video! rims look amazing and your exhaust work is ridiculously cool. I know trolls get the attention but I really enjoy your channel and always look forward to your new videos.
John, you're a stand-up guy. You and your team are all A+ quality people.. it takes years to build your reputation and good name and only seconds to lose it. Keep up the good work you guys do. I follow your videos on a regular basis as I own a fully stock 2006 ap2 that's in excellent condition with about 41000 Mi on it. I Especially like your question and answer session at the very end of this video. I watched all your 3 part videos of this build, plus this one. Also, TH-cam says this video is 9 months old, and I'm wondering what's the update on this build, is any additional update to provide or comment you have about this build? Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the kind words. We’ve only been on TH-cam a short time but I opened the shop in 1996. I started in CRX, civic , Integra etc and do more engine swaps, turbo builds, custom fabrication etc. Many things we developed and tested before we really concentrated more on the S2000 as today. We’re actually building and testing a NA package on this car. We just removed the turbo kit and filming now for a mini series. I like to test things to make sure I’m happy before ever offering it. I’m a big fan of minimal comprise when it comes to upgrades. So I hope this package is worth it.
I like a tad of tire roll-in as it adds a bit more stability during hard cornering. That said, I get your preference for the squared up sidewalls. They do look good!
John oh John what have you done. You said the V3’s were your favorite wheel for the S2K and I’m in the process of powder coating my V3’s to match that Kaiser silver. I spoke about the Balladesports turbo kit but I’m going to wait for your kit to become available. Oh I wished I lived near your shop instead of PA. That bit of you benching the exhaust was hilarious glad you decided to go home.
The V3 is my favorite OEM S2000. The MF10 is my favorite wheel period. If our kit passes my expectations it won’t be available without our installation. 80% of our work comes from our of State.
I know it's only been 6 months, but I was curious if you were still happy with the quality of these wheels. I like the look myself so I appreciate your trialing them
It still blows my mind if they don't make a 225.40-17. its given me so much trouble over the years owning second gen MR2s so much so that I finally just went with 17x7.5 215 40 17 up front.
Lol. I remember in college, They pulled out a big piece of paper stuck it to the wall and then draw a dot in the middle. He said write your answer down. 95% wrote ‘ a black Dot’. 5% said ‘ a huge piece of paper with a black dot in the middle’. I was in the 5%. I won’t say what the professor called the 95%. Lol.
Also s2k ap1 is already a handful now with 400hp plus.. its crazy. That's why you see 500hp plus s2k with Dot drag radials on the street That takes away from the car
Nothing wrong with purchasing replica wheels, build to your budget. I Had a 89 CRX SI did an SIR front conversion, lowered the car and sitting on Mugen M7 only to have the car stolen and stripped. I left the car scene after that.
I'm the same way with my vehicles. If I can get away breaking free cost wise I'm a happy camper. Are you planning to sell those wheels on your website at some point?
Hey John, where did you get you tires mounted that doesn’t scratch the lip of the wheels been looking for a shop that does good quality work without damaging my wheels?
I’ve always wondered how busy your shop is and what your shop rate is? You’re always doing those extra little bits, as though it was your car, but that has to make your price high, right?
Our shop rate is $105. We often charge less as we give away time. I’m not a businessman and don’t buckle and dime. There’s a reason we make many friends from customers and you see so many gifts and gift cards come our way. It more than makes up for getting rich.
@@LHTPerformance You're an actual repair shop, unlike the Honda/Acura swap-a-part guys and they charge $165/hr. You should advertise an OEM+ 4 wheel suspension package that includes engine/tranny/exhaust mount package. These s2000/Integra/Prelude/Civic cars aren't getting any younger.
Mugen MF-10s are no longer made. On the used market they can bring stupid money if in good shape. Plus, these are designed for the S2000 to be 1” Wider and have perfect fitment. So far the savings are priceless
Is the cat the limiting factor on the OEM exhaust? I want to keep the OEM exhaust, so I'm wondering if just switching to one of those cats might be the way to go. At the end of the day I will be happy with 350whp anyways, I don't think I really "need" 400whp.
On a supercharged S2000 the stock exhaust will make 400whp. But it kills the power on a turbo build. If you watch the video on the blue car called , low Down torque’ I think we show it. That car sold and the new owner brought it back for an exhaust and re tune. It make 500whp more afterwards.
which one of the catalytic converters on the Stainless Brothers would be a good fit for a stock S2000? My car has 42,000 miles would a new catalytic converter help the car breathe better? Or don't bother?
Epic build John! From working at a Motorsports park a well setup turbo S2000 will give most Porsches a run for their money! Do we get a track day when this is done?!?!

So do you think that going 235 front and 265 back is going to be ok for the fenders at that height?
The 24ish lbs you saved on the wheels is unsprung weight, which is like taking 65lbs out of the sprung part of the car.
Imo, i just like 18s better. Sure they ride harsher, but they fit out the S2000s massive fender wells way better.
