No, it works also with normal wood. We have often the situatiosn where a normal chainsaw is to dagerous or in nature environments where it is fobitten to use engine powered saws. So this manual saw type ist very common in my job (with a T-Gripp, which is more economical to use). You can bring down branches / beams with 15-20 cm diameter within 20 Minutes. Most important: You chain must be one of those where the knives exisist on every chain pair. And they mustbe sharp like hell :and yes it helps if your muscels are trained :-)

Nope, there a use cases where a hand saw doesn't work well. So this is in my job a very common tool. e.g. cutting branches high in a tree standing on a ladder when it is to dangours to use powered engines. Those type of saws are not a every day tool. But from time to time we need those saws. We allway carry on in our toolbox.

Wish I would have seen this a month ago...I could have used instead of what i did... on a ladder - alone 10pm with a hand saw over my head....trying to get a lower hanging branch off a tree so a uhaul that was on the way could get past. I have seen the rope type saws with handles and wished I had one at the time... because there was no way I was stupid enough to use my chain saw... but I have plenty of extra chains I could have whipped up one of these! Because now I need to make a doctor apt for whatever it is I have done to my elbow doing it the way I did...

Simpe improvement: Use T-Shaped handles. Works much better.

Всё новое! Это давно забытое старое! Ему развернуть зубы поочередно надо. Когда нет лестницы отлично справляется ветки толстые пилить, да и в труднодоступных местах. Себе давно Смастерил

A handsaw is hard to use, eg. if you try to remove parts from a tree. We often uses such saw types standig on a ladder or on the branches of a tree, where it is to dangerous use powerd chainsaws. It my job it's a very common tool.
