I am excited to see what times I can get. I probably do not write many comments here but I want to say thank you for your content. Have an amazing day! Greetings from Germany :)
I’m gonna keep watching but it just blows my mind people were getting 25.6 and .7 laps on moo moo meadows with no short hop! The short hop saves so much time but the overall driving matters so much too
This whole video I kept coming back to how insane it was that I was watching ghosts of races done when I was 9 years old. Pretty bizarre, but really awesome
Video/series idea: mini, maybe progression-style videos detailing some of the historic WR battles you mentioned in this video. It would also be really informative and cool to see a video on when/how much of the tech used today was discovered.
i really wonder what these players are up to now! and how old they were when they set these pioneering times. I wonder if theyre even aware of the fact that mkw is still alive and well and whether theyd be interested in coming back to see what they can achieve.
Lets just say I'm an old man now 😅 I was the MC3 WR holder in this video, and also had WRs in many other tracks in the first year or two of MKWii. I was 17yo when I set most of them.

I played this game as a kid with my younger brother, and we both remember seeing the weird millisecond times on the leaderboards. never knew what that was until just now. very cool video
As someone who got into mkwii cuz of Troy (and hence my natural and first play style has decent lines and tactics) it’s crazy to see small things like not tricking off the corner on moonview that are part of my Normal gameplay
This is real cool! Idk if we got the game right away but I never played for world record but after seeing the most recent records this will be cool to see

Luke, Colton, Sosis, Liam, Braixen, Kasey, Blaze, Steve, Doom, I can go on forever! To Mario Kart Wii, you and me, Nick making friends via twitch, and to all of the amazing players of this beautiful game! 2008 was a beautiful year for a game like this, I was 3 then turning 4 in November and I got the game during the lock-down in March 2020 and as of today, I unlocked everything! And, oh MAN it feels so good to be a time trailer like you! Plus, yes it's still me, Peach Fan from Twitch! 😁 14:52 Wario's Gold mine
Around like 9 minutes in you are talking about how leaderboards were messed up because of cheated times it reminded me of a picture I took with my DSI camera of the grumble volcano leaderboards every time was Ronald lmao
I remember as a kid I as I watched the hacked world records the game just showed somebody staying still forever so I thought they waited for the timer to go to 99:59:999 for it to like restart and get a super low time but then I tried and it didnt work. Sad

I really like you as far as I can say that after watching FlounderFest and some other videos from you and I absolutely love how dedicated you are to this game. You are such a kind person and I hope you keep pushing and enjoy this game and everything else in your life. :D
You have motivated me to try out time trials in the future in MK8 after I finished my exams next month and I will probably focus on my favourit tracks like Sunshine Airport, Shy Guy Falls, Mount Wario, Cheep Cheep Beach, Royal Raceway, Ice Ice Outpost or Shroom Ridge. I am excited to see what times I can get.
I probably do not write many comments here but I want to say thank you for your content.
Have an amazing day!
Greetings from Germany :)
VERYYYY excited for this. Thank you Nick!!
I’m gonna keep watching but it just blows my mind people were getting 25.6 and .7 laps on moo moo meadows with no short hop! The short hop saves so much time but the overall driving matters so much too
Low jump my bad.
This whole video I kept coming back to how insane it was that I was watching ghosts of races done when I was 9 years old. Pretty bizarre, but really awesome
This video is sooo epic! Keep up the great work Nick!
@@blazemkds thats amazing! You were one of the pioneering giants for the game!! thanks for getting back to me you should totally try and get back into mkw haha
Thank you so much for your efforts NMeade i love your videos so so much, please never stop doing what enjoy
I really got into MKW around 2014. It's so interesting to see these early day WRs!
Me : not again… dont say these words!!!
Nmeade : BACK IN THE DAYS!
Very good video mate :))
I played this game as a kid with my younger brother, and we both remember seeing the weird millisecond times on the leaderboards. never knew what that was until just now. very cool video
I began playing again during covid 2020 and am still learning a lot about this game that i never thought i would
As someone who got into mkwii cuz of Troy (and hence my natural and first play style has decent lines and tactics) it’s crazy to see small things like not tricking off the corner on moonview that are part of my Normal gameplay
This is real cool! Idk if we got the game right away but I never played for world record but after seeing the most recent records this will be cool to see
drinking challenge: take a shot every time NMeade says “ahead of his time”
I would say take a shot whenever he says "back in the day"
@@kylian_fr6115 🤣
take a shot every time he says "an old clanmate of mine"
I love learning about this game’s history like this
Dude these videos are so great, thanks for putting so much work into these
Seeing the spear gameplay on moonview was so freaking enjoyable
An amazing video, so interesting to see the differences waaaay back in 2008 :0
Oh, and just to fix a lil mistake, Degausser is Belgian, not German xD
Clicked this video as soon as I got the notification - EG
Best mario kart game back in the days. Feel the nostalgia with my Wii wheel. Lmao
oh my god this is amazing thank you so much! what a throwback i had you friended on youtube when i was a little kid back when that was a feature. much love
hyped as hell. getting my popcorn ready
Hey, Nick I think Bubbles is the real winner at the end of the day because I learned a lot from his Wario's Gold Mine run, and I'm sure speaking of which you may just celebrate with a bottle of bubbles, grab some champagne... 🍾🍾 You know, just to celebrate the legacy of all of these players. I wanna make a toast to all of these amazing players! Plus MKWii turns 14 years old in April! So, Mario Kart Wii, forever. 14 years, and beyond. This also goes out to today's best players. 😁 14:52 Wario's Gold mine
i could only imagine how long it took to write the script and film this…
good job on the hard work
THIS IS GOING TO BE A CERTIFIED TT CLASSIC
Yes! Yes! YES!! 🤣🤣
HECK YA! I've been looking forward to this vid!
It’s crazy how much we have improved in this game
a lot of these 2008 performances remind me of nick casually playing in time trial lounge ngl
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how much effort Nick puts into his videos
cringe
@@therealpepefrog4975 says the dude named TheRealPepeFrog
@@wyatturd1 see wasnt so hard to put in some effort and type an original comment after all was it?
@@therealpepefrog4975 walking W
@@wyatturd1 Absolutely, this man is a legend for videos this long!
Drinking game idea-drink every time Nick says “ Back in the day”. Just kidding, Nick. Good times and cool videos!
Damn the SD Ev era lol STanney the goat
Ohhh can't wait for the next years!
loved the topic of the video, great one
So nostalgic
Around like 9 minutes in you are talking about how leaderboards were messed up because of cheated times it reminded me of a picture I took with my DSI camera of the grumble volcano leaderboards every time was Ronald lmao
Nothing says nostalgia like 480p replays :)
Like i said, Nostalgia can hit you harder than a train!
Awesome video, very entertaining! :)
Drinking game, take a shot every time he says "literally". You'll be unconscious in 5 minutes.
The dc wr hit 8 cones and still got a 1:30, impressive! Watch the speedometer if you don’t believe me
nice video man!
you are the best content creator. I love you
I remember as a kid trying to beat other people's records I've beaten some don't remember the number
ooh this is gonna be interesting to watch
i’ve always wanted to see what the wr’s were like in 2008. also it’s kind of embarrassing that some of the times are better than my current times.
Ive seen a lot of these only after a bunch of years later, as i started in 2009
The best next video would be all the CURRENT world records
i remember cole implements shroomless on kc but on a smaller portion without hiting grass
The craziest thing for me is how bad the soft drifts are, other than that they are super similar
I remember as a kid I as I watched the hacked world records the game just showed somebody staying still forever so I thought they waited for the timer to go to 99:59:999 for it to like restart and get a super low time but then I tried and it didnt work. Sad
hells yeah
Me realizing that the lc war didn’t even use delayed-drifting: Feeling proved!
GO TEAM NICK 👏
Fascinating
Awesome vid
