In your soluiotn: Is there any simple solution to it, that it refreshes the count when items are removed from the cart or the cart is updated - without refreshing the whole site? Thanks!
Unfortunately this does not seem to be working anymore. Can you check if the say what plug in information is still accurate? The 1 item works, but 0 items and anything more than 1 item does not work anymore -- in short, the plural 'items' isn't caught anymore. I did enter everything correctly... .

I’m not sure but perhaps it can be done with BodyCommerce from Divi Engine or Divi MadMenu from Divicious.

That could be a language issue. Which Site Language do you use in the WordPress General Settings tab?
