    the reason that trimmer requires you to hold the button is so that if you toss it in a carry bag it doesn't accidentally turn on if something hits the button. it's handy if you travel a lot

  • @steelsteez6118
    @steelsteez6118 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    6:04 It's fairly obvious in my opinion; it's so that it doesn't automatically turn on if you're traveling with it in your bag. I hate products that do this though as the amount of times you'll actually get some use out of that feature is seldom. Compare that to the daily annoyance you'll have to deal with when having to hold down the power button every morning and it's a stupid decision to include a hold down feature. They should take a note from Philips and create a feature where once it's turned on, you can then hold it down to activate a lock feature. After that, you have to hold down the power button to unlock it. This is incredibly useful as you can simply only use this feature when you travel instead of being bothered everyday to hold down the stupid button.

    • @brioproductgroup1956
      @brioproductgroup1956  ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed! holding the button to turn the travel lock on and off works much better than the hold every time method.

    Beardscape comes with the retractable blade - it’s the best tool and the safest - as I’ve used it for body shaving - but the only drawback is trying to trim in the Genital area - and for that I have the 3.0 lawnmower - only because the blade is narrower and this allows me to reach nooks and crannies - however - I use the guard on the blade to prevent any nicks or cuts particularly on the sack... /
    With any remaining stubble that I clear away with shaving gel and a blade... /
    Both tools offer adequate power...

    bought a trimmer for like 15euro at lidl (silvercrest shbs600), it looks like the same mechanism and ceramic blade and it has 0.5mm discrete setting up to 2mm, then normal guards set.
    Not water proof and when opening the ceramic blade assembly it did basically explode and was a pain to get the spring and blade back in place, but from what you shown seems normal even at >50euro...

    I tried a OneBlade with just the built-in, 0.5mm guard, and I wound up cutting myself, but I understand people do use it for this. I suppose the trick is that they use very little pressure? I'm accustomed to a slightly different Philips trimmer that looks very similar (black with blue accents, rather than green accents) but has a longer, built-in guards and cannot cut you. The upside is that you don't have to be careful; the downside is that you have to run it over the skin multiple times to get all the hair, because it's somewhat down to luck whether the hair slides in between the guard teeth.
    The "fun" part was that I couldn't feel the cuts because they were too fine, unlike my old beard trimmer, which would give me quite a pinching sensation if it nicked me. (Thus I knew not to use it for this purpose.) Thus, it was only after I'd damaged quite a wide area that I realized I had done so.
    I'll try the OneBlade again, after everything heals, but I'll be more gentle this time.

    The head in my brio just crapped out on me. Then I tried to take it off to see if it was an issue I could fix and broke it. Contacted brio and basically I have to buy a new head since I “broke it.” So I guess they didn’t believe me or something. Ended up having to use my old clippers for a while. Also, don’t use the brio blades on sensitive areas without a guard. This review is misleading. Even had issues with cutting not to mention hair pulling.

    Other than a narrower blade width, are any of these trimmers any better then my barber has had for the last 30 years i can't honestly remember the brand (Wahl maybe?) but i think I've seen them in just about every salon that I've been in ever. Heavy duty and long lasting as well as extremely serviceable. They also seem to have an extremely high RPM which i have never seen with one of these so called ball trimmers... and not once have i ever been nicked by them... price wise i know you can get one cheaper than any of these. I've been watching the development of "manscaping" products of all types and brands and honestly most of it seems like a bunch of marketing hooah. As someone in their youth who made the mistake of using Nair and a similar supposedly man marketed ball safe product ( it wasn't and burned nearly as much as the Nair.... And ladies that "safe for the bikini line" is BS)at one time and another a disposable type blade cartridges and razors and add another one of those electric rotary face shavers... And on and on and still haven't found a product that I consider to be worthy of being specifically marketed to remove sensitive area body hair... LOL except perhaps electrolysis.... That is unless someone out there can recommend a reliable safe non painful undercarriage hair removal product. As an "adult" adult, I realized that going 100% bare was pretty dumb especially when a few days later you have to deal with stubble burn etcetera. It helps that i'm not a very hairy person compared to some and avoid people that have a problem with it anyway... I simply pull out the big clippers and once in awhile do a nice trim carefully. from a practical and hygienic standpoint that's about all anyone's gonna actually need. however sometimes.... special occasions and all that... and of course general personal preference there certainly is a need for things like these. I would rather have a product specifically designed for the job, but unless some of this obnoxious amount of marketing money turns into real product development, I have no interest. No offense to the brio development team because they do seem to be the best bang for your buck in this market. Another question I had was about the ceramic blade which is not present in most clippers except in this market. Is it significantly better? because not even the good professional ones that I have have that. Is there an addition that makes this additionally safer for sensitive skin areas?

      Thanks for the thoughts! I would agree that most talk of "ball trimmers" is 100% marketing hype. Overall, i don't think there is a need for a super specific tool for ball trimming, because hair is hair and no trimmer will ever be skin safe. Making a trimmer with a tiny toothed blade with moderate clearance means that it won't be useful for any other trimming task. with an adjustable blade or just using a small guard - any trimmer can be suitable for ball trimming. As far as ceramic blades - I think you will start to see these more often on professional barber clippers. The material is much harder than steel so they stay sharper longer.

      I have used them all with exception of the HappyNuts which I broke shortly after I removed it from the packaging. Most are remarkably similar by design since most of these companies were just copying Manscaped.

    I cant believe I sank 10 minutes into a video just for this guy to shit on every other trimmer and PLUG HIS OWN. (Which he conveiniently waited until the last 5 seconds of the video to mention)
    I OWN a brio beardscape and you know why i dont use it for my balls? Its HUGE!! Nevermind not waterproof!
    Idc how dry babrers recommend my hair should be, i AM NOT washing my salty, sweaty beans with my facial trimmer 🤢🤢
    Instead of leading

    It’s a shit of a product, I completely regret buying this shit. It’s not waterproof, the inner parts gets corroded very quickly.

    "Ball trimmers" exactly why I've never purchased any of these products that use that type of advertisement language, it's very cringe and calling your product manscaped and using the word balls in a humorous way 20 times in a 2 minute long commercial and doing things like subscription packages with things like boxer briefs that same manscaped on the band is just cringe dude that's not man stuff that's little boy stuff that's like something a freshman in high school would beg his mother to buy for him, and the main reason I never even considered purchasing any of these type of products is mainly how frequently they would pop up in advertisements for me even though I never searched for stuff like that it was pretty much just like okay this is a guy in his late 20s early 30s give him manscaped 4.0 advertisements every 2 minutes and it made me hate the product without even trying it same thing with Dr Squatch I think they're marketing techniques are very terrible far too silly I can definitely see the Allure for the Mindless mid-20 to early 40s smooth brained Neanderthal Facebook dweller that's about it though and those aren't the type of people that do a whole lot of online shopping so they probably just laugh along with and quote the commercials in their free time all while still using a basic $20 Walmart Razor, I've been using the Philips oneblade electric razor for about 4 years now and it's absolutely amazing, I believe it costs about $40 and it comes with either one or two blades and the replacement blade packages are about $20 a piece but they last an incredibly long time even if you shaved with it every single day you would only go through a replacement blade about once every 3 months so that's $40 for the razor and $20 every 6 months on a two pack of Replacements that last another 6 months it's amazing And there's no obnoxious childish advertisements harassing you every time you watch a TH-cam video
