We have swan fluffies!

The day started with a plea for help with an injured pigeon that I had neither the time or energy to deal with, but the poor bird needed help and the lady who had found him was unable to get him to a vet so I agreed to collect him.
Pigeon was obviously badly hurt and needed veterinary care so I took him home with me and left him to rest in my car, while I quickly walked my dog before heading out to drop the pigeon at the vets before continuing to the duck call that was already arranged.
Mama duck had made her nest under a wheelbarrow in an allotment and the lovely people who it belonged to had been caring for her. They had built an enclosure around mama to make sure she was safe and well fed while she hatched and started to raise her nine ducklings. Today was the day for them to leave their temporary lodgings and return to the wild, so Jackie and I went to collect them all and safely relocate them. We found a lovely part of the canal, not far from where she had been nesting, and watched the family swim happily into the distance… ❤️
But then, while we were on the duck call, Stacey had messaged to say she was with Wilma and that the cygnets were hatching! So off I went… and when I left the lake, eventually, there were two live cygnets hatched and sadly one that had died during the hatching process. Two more eggs were hatching, and another two were still intact.
