    My brother has two broken in half. Main frame in front of seat.

      Seriously, I don't have a clue as to what to do with this thing unless I use it as an excuse to learn welding.

      Yep for what they charge it should be better. I miss my old saw that I sold. I bought a new smaller 440e. I had to order a screwdriver set just to get it running on husqvarnas own can fuel 🤷🏼‍♂️😳

      @@EricWillis77they build tough commercial stuff. This is a homeowners mower. My old Husqvarna mower from 2014 has 640 hours on it and never a frame problem. My saws and weed eater have also been great. Be sure to switch car brands the second you have any trouble with it because that makes the entire brand unreliable

    This exact same thing happened me with this exact same mower. My LGT2654. Every time I would put it into gear the drive belt would slip off and I couldn't figure it out for the longest time. Finally upon closer inspection the rear frame was cracked on the left and right side near each rear wheel where the transmission mounts and each time the mower jerked forward, the torque on the transmission would twist it enough to have the belt slip off of the rear fan pulley. Went to Lowe's, bought some nice stiff angle iron and cut two 5 inch pieces with a hack saw, one for the left side crack and one for the right and simply drilled three 3/8" holes through the angle iron and through the good part of the frame and put three bolts/nuts on the sides and drilled matching holes on the bottom of the angle iron and fed the transmission bolts thru to the new metal. Bam! worked like a charm, no more transmission twist. Solid repair. I spent $2500 on this mower thinking that was enough for some quality and longevity, but they're all junk.

      I lost count of how many husqvarna frames cracked in that very same place after the warranty

      You think they'd just weld a little plate steel in that spot on both sides if it's a known issue. But then the mower would last longer, we can't have that!

  • @michaelhummer2608
    @michaelhummer2608 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Husquavarna frames always had that issue. Two huskys two craftsman same frame all four borken

    • @quantumphaser
      @quantumphaser  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, it's a shame it was built on such a weak foundation.
      They just have to cut corners more and more. How much money was saved by skimping on the metal? Not enough to fix a tarnished reputation.

  • @tommyhunter9641
    @tommyhunter9641 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My identical mower frame broke in the same spot. Got lucky and fan blade survived. Had to stabilize the frame with plate steel to transport it and then have a weld job with angle iron to strengthen that spot in the frame.. Paid too much for it to have a frame break.

  • @ky-leisureriders6402
    @ky-leisureriders6402 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have had the frame replace once under, had to weld the frame back together, and now I will be replacing my transmission for the 2nd time in 7 years.

    • @quantumphaser
      @quantumphaser  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm hoping to get new pieces for the ones that broke and reinforce it.
      I haven't had time to get to it yet but I'd like to fix it to be better than factory since I do like the tractor and I think it's worth saving.
      This is a bigger job than I was prepared for.
      I don't know how to weld but I might be able to bolt on reinforcement metal to the weak areas.
      I will know more when I lift the body off the frame.
      Thanks for commenting and if you have any ideas, I would be happy to hear them.
      I'm pretty bummed out this happened, I was only using it to mow, so light duty but who knows what the previous owner did.

      @@quantumphaser They're junk, weak frames. It has nothing to do with previous owners. They break where the trans mounts with their anemic frames. I run a repair business sad to see how shit new tractors are.

    This is happening to so so many customers, there should be a class action! they know of the issue and do nothing! I will never buy a new mower again. Back to my 30 year old JD and I will fit a new Kawasaki motor. will last me the rest of my life. I am so over this new age of design and engineering to fail! disgusting.

    • @mrbubetube
      @mrbubetube ปีที่แล้ว

      there's no point in fixing it. it'll just crack again and even if you do fix it, it's damn near impossible to keep it as straight as it needs to be and the belt will keep coming off. it's designed to fail after the warranty so you might as well just throw it away and buy a new one.

    That is not the initial fracture you can see it next to the Sway Rod Bracket in the attaching screws area. It is a design and user failure, the frame is severely weakened by the drilling of the two screw holes that hols this braket so when the operator acidentally hit something with the deck the force of the impact is transmitted by the Anti-Sway Rod to the Braket which will transmit the force and end up fracturing the frame. After the frame is cut by the fracture the lost of support will cause more areas of the frame to get damage.

      Isn't it? Isn't it the initial fracture that can be seen in his video when first bought it? ("I bought a 2016 Husqvarna LGT2654 Tractor WITH a Bagger for $500 BUT there is a catch!" [4:29] ) It's at the exact same spot, right next to the two mounting bolts, where the two pieces butt together.

      @@quantumphaser Good to hear about cub mowing good still. Thanks for subscribing! I hope things are going well down there with the weather. I had a couple of ideas for the Husqvarna. 1st was you could sell it for about 500 bucks as is and try to get a gt2523 cub. Next was you can replace the frame with the heavier duty one, then slap a k66 in it. But you would have to convert it over to foot controlled hydro instead of hand controlled. 3 was you could sell the Husqvarna again and just get a husqvarna gt with a hydro gear g730. (Not as strong as the bdu10L-225 in the cub. The bdu10L-225 has 270 more ft lbs of torque than the g730.) 4th was to get the gt1554 instead of the Husqvarna. They came in hydrogear g730s and 12 gauge steel frames with 27hp kohler engines and 54 inch decks. The baby version of the 2500 series lacking a lot of its heavy features but still a much more capable tractor than a Husqvarna or simplicity or kubota or john deere. Those seem like the best options for a solution. Cant wait for you to start posting some tractor vids!
