    I have watched about 100 videos for this exact fix. My YT3000 bolts broke off and the cracks in the frame. Broke 2 fans and belt came off fast until I found everything you just fixed. I will extract the broke off bolts in the transmission and do this exact fix. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

      You are very welcome!!! I've never had another problem with those I have fixed like this so far and its been years. People who use bolted frame mounts just beg for problems.

    Just welded my Huskvarna up for the 2nd time.." I was told they make a bracket kit for this issue so why would they not send out or notify the customers of this problem...? Going to do the angle iron fix after this mowing season.. great video"

      Yeah, just welding the flange only works for a little bit. Welding the angle bracket will outlive the mower! Make sure you fix the front support mount. Nothing will hold up if the transmission still has all that torque pressure.

    I just fixed the same problem today much like you did in your video. I have a craftsman YT 3000. My symptoms were slow reverse and drive belt would come off when I push the brake hard. After replacing the drive belt I still had the same problems, so I started to look at other things. I found that all four transmission mount locations on both sides were badly cracked. Upon further investigation I discovered that the two bolts that hold the transmission at the front mount we’re both gone. One had fallen out and the other had sheared off. After a trip to the hardware store I replaced both front transmission mount bolts and used 2 inch angle iron to make new brackets to reinforce both of the transmission mounts in the rear. After bolting everything together, I used it today and it seems that all of my problems are now fixed. Thanks for the video. If not for you I would still be looking for a solution to my tractor problems, and would probably have taken it in eventually for expensive repairs.

      Thank you very much Tim! I knew this was going to be a problem for a lot of people and I'm just glad I could help. I have always welded the angle iron on the way I described in the video. Those front 2 bolts coming out is what started all of these problem and I don't trust bolts any more......LOL I'm just glad I could help you. Good luck!

      My yt3000 did the exact same thing. Barely would move in reverse.. I had to buy the torque bracket as it broke it off. I went ahead and took the transaxle out and drained the fluid and put 15/50 synthetic oil back in . That sucker will climb a mountain now ..

    Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video. I learned a lot this week. one of my front mount bolts was gone the other was sheared off. Tried using an extractor to no avail, so I ended up drilling the old bolt out from underneath. If you have this problem perhaps, I can save you some time. I used a 5/16" Bosch cobalt bit (titanium won't work) drill slow, using cutting oil. Good luck.

    Thank you so much for making this video!! I had this exact same problem with my Husqvarna and was able to repair it by watching your video to diagnose my issue. I drilled out the bolt holes exactly as you did and replaced my bolts according to your instructions. I'm back up and mowing again now. Awesome advice and extremely helpful!

    Thanks for posting up this video. I just now realized why my drive belt kept jumping off. I had the issue with the front "torque " mount and currently waiting on the parts. Awesome job on the video. Really informative and helpful to me. Good day sir!

    I had this issue on a LGT48DXL. The set up is a bit different, but this will work for me as well. I was looking for confirmation that my idea would work. You just gave it to me. Thank you!

    Thanks for the great video. My father in law's has the same problem. It appears this is a common problem with these mowers. The only difference is he has a bolt from the front transmission bracket mount broken off in the transmission case. We are going to try to extract that bolt and use your fix.

    • @Daneinwv1
      @Daneinwv1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many times a broken bolt like that won't be too hard to extract. When the pressure is take off the threads of the bolt after it breaks, it CAN come out really easy. Before you drill, try to loosen it with a pair of needle nose or try to turn it out with a mini jewlers screwdriver. One one thing to stress on the job itself....Make sure you have the front bolt(s) in and then bolt the fabricated mount bracket tight to the transmission before welding. I've done about 4 of these so far with no problems. Two of the guys who owned the mowers were pretty large guys and their mowers are still fine after hard work this summer. Good luck!

      +Daneinwv1 will do. The bolt is broken off about even with the transmission case and maybe slightly below.

    This is exactly how I repaired mine... did have to drill out the old bolts. Those suckers were totally seized in there. No leaks after 3 years. Also, there IS a repair kit for these models, for the two rear brackets. Thanks!

    • @Daneinwv1
      @Daneinwv1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's always hard to drill bolt out of aluminum. They want over $40 dollars for a bolt on kit. I think it's junk myself. If the transmission and the frame do not line up perfectly and you crank bolts tight on an aluminum transmission, something will break when you hit the first bump. By welding it up, it doesn't have to perfect. Needs to be very close to perfect so the belt won't jump but not perfect.

    Good Video, I have this exact problem and drilling through the transaxle and installing two through bolts was my next move.
    You've confirmed it can be done so thanks for that.
    What a poor design from new.

    • @Daneinwv1
      @Daneinwv1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a poor design Dude. They should have beefed up that whole frame section. Putting bolts in the front bracket that could come loose is just crazy.

    My husbands sears yt3000 did the same thing, had a friend fix it about 5 to 6 years ago, thinks trans mouth bracket is broken again. This is a lousy set up on these. When putting in the bolts put the nuts on the bottom instead of the top. Also use nuts that have plastic in the threads as the jam nuts.

    • @Daneinwv1

      Marilyn, thanks for replying. I don't see how the bracket could break if he welded it? Wow..

    With the 3"x5/16 grade 8 bolt was that full thread or partially threaded?

    • @Daneinwv1
      @Daneinwv1  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there were about 1 - 1/4" of threads on the bolt I used. I would make sure there were no threads where the case halves meet up, but other than at that point I wouldn't be too worried about it. Thanks for watching the video!!!

    This has just happened to me this week, we're can I get a bracket

    • @Daneinwv1
      @Daneinwv1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I describe how to make one in the Video. If you buy the kits, they have brackets in them but they are bolted on. Welding is better if you have the means. If you bolt it together, keep an eye on it that it doesn't loosen back up.... eBay has the kits listed somewhat like this. Good Luck!!!!!

    My transmission is facing down two inches, if I push it back up to level it again, will it still function normally? One of the metal brackets that hold the transmission broke. @Daneinwv1

    • @Daneinwv1

      If you do what I did in this video it will be ok. Brackets will have to be reinforced and some new bolts installed. Probably a new drive belt.

    I just welded my rear brackets but welded gusset too.

    • @Daneinwv1
      @Daneinwv1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just in my experience with these brackets, if you weld the original brackets they won't last very long before they crack again. Maybe you are a better welder than I am and they will be good. Just keep an eye on them. :-)
