    The previous kitchenaid blender did have the locking mechanism and it honestly annoyed me because it would still allow it to turn on without locking so I would always forget to lock it. Upgrading to this one and happy about it.

    I'm going to try your almond milk recipe! I found your video because I bought this blender last year at a William Sonoma. I had much fun with it and apparently used the crap out of it because the blades of the blender jar are nearly frozen from heat. I was seeing of anyone else had this problem, but I have bought a Vitamix which has been in heavy use. However I still have the KitchenAid. I'll see if some place sells replacement jars. Thanks for the video! Even if you returned the blender, I like the almond milk recipe idea!

    I just picked the K400 for $58. It was on clearance and was originally $289. It came with the class jug but not the smaller container like yours did. I think it was a good price for a blender.

      @Li Reviews did you buy your blender yet? I just bought tĥis kitchenaid blender k400 about 2 weeks. It's working fantastic . Last night i decided to give it a really good test , a peeled Frozen orange, a peeled ,cored, sliced Frozen apple, a peeled Frozen banana, 1/4 greek yogurt, 3/4 çup baby carrots, 1 1/2cups milk, 2-3TBsp table syrup. This is a lot of frozen stuff and it was well beyond the Max line. I did have to run it on the smoothie setting 3 times, i think maybe 4 times i DIDN'T try adjusting the contents at all and without a pusher i couldn't help push down BUT between cycles i added a bit more milk each time .between 1/8-1/4cup.
      It turned out perfectly smooth and creamy, delicious with NO chunks at all.

    I've seen many reviews of this blender and there is no need to hold your hand on top of it. Almost all blenders move a little bit at first and then the movement calms down as the ingredients are broken down. I also own this exact blender and I never have my hand on it.

    • @athomewithrobin292
      @athomewithrobin292 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I've seen a lot of blenders move and no one puts their hand on it. This on actually didn't move at all.

    I'm thinking of buying this blender, I bought a personal size small little cheap blender just for doing the odd smoothie and milkshake but it really struggles when the contents start to get thick so I really want something that is more powerful and also that can pulverize fruit seeds and fruit skins, I never like making a smoothie with blueberries and there's little specks of skin thoughout the smoothie.

    If you crush ice? Does it pulverize the ice or is it actually making them to small pieces as it is supposed to be? Have you tried?

    Li Fan, is the connection on the blender base to the blending jar (the contact point for the gears to spin the blades) made of metal like a vitamix or is it plastic like a ninja blender? Also is the connection on the blender jar to the blender base metal or plastic?
    Thanks.

    Hello greetings ! Can I blend foods or only fruits with this? I want to purchase it this week and want the best whilst I have the funds, or tell me, what texture or consistency can this blender NOT blend so i am aware, ive also never blended anything in my life before, this feels like im about to purchase a Mercedes of a Blender, is this true?

    • @TheGizmoGarage
      @TheGizmoGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally I think it's best to blend smoothies and fruits, as it's not designed to blend other things without much liquid. If you need to use it as a food processor, consider Ninja series of blenders that has extra blending attachments for food processing. amzn.to/3MkDHQR

      When making dough, you’re better off with either a Ninja Blender, VitaMix Blender, a Food Processor or a Stand Mixer (KitchenAid, Kenwood, Cuisinart, Bosch, Etc).

      @@sophialee840 Accidents are bound to happen no matter what and I rather do as much in mitigating them than rely on blind luck or faith.
      I just picked one up myself and although I do not have kids, I do live with vulnerable people. Curiosity often times lead to accidents. You can spin up the gears without the carafe on the stand by simply pressing the power button. It's unlikely but if you had say a fork or steak knife or some implement on the teeth and you accidentally pressed the button while the machine was plugged in and primed (on a function setting) you could have catastrophic outcomes. In an age when companies are trying to reduce litigious incidences, having no safety in place like this is a major faux pas.
