This isn't really a true top 10, it's a top 10 of what is available through Amazon. You should be more forthcoming in the description as there are some really good variable speed pumps out there that are better than many on this list but they are not available through Amazon. I say this as someone who repairs and installs pool equipment. It makes it hard to trust someone's review when their motivation seems to be more about receiving commissions from Amazon and less about helping someone make an informed purchase.
which brand would you recommend? I'm eyeballing XtremepowerUS 2HP Pool Pump, Variable Speed Pool Pump on Amazon. Much more reasonable in price, but could be utter garbage. Do you know about this brand? The price is extremely enticing compared to Hayward, Pentair or B&D.
@@arminius301 I just installed a 1.5hp XtremepowerUS VSP pump. Installation was easy. Programming instructions provided are confusing. Found a couple Utube Videos that explains the programming well. Pump seems well built and is extremely quiet. Utube videos are for the Black and Decker pump which uses the same program pad.
I had been a Pentair custimer until last year. Pentair gives only 2 months of warranty unless you have its installer to install to receive 2 years n 3 installers I checked refused to install if I do not buy from them. B&D gives 5 years irrespective where if you get your pump.
