    I was supposed to get the intelliflo vsf (011056) and I know that supply has been a real issue. Ended up with a the new whisper flo vst but can't help but think I'm missing out on some kind of features or energy savings that I would've had had I received the intelliflo model instead. Hoping to get some input on this. Can't seem to find a good unbiased source for answer
    Pool is about 15k gallon, raised spa, second story rooftop solar heat.

      Hello, unfortunately, you are correct about the energy savings you would be normally getting if you had the 011056 vs the WhisperFlo VST as you will need to run the WhisperFlo at full speed to even move your water and cycle it fully with that type of pool.

    I’m building an inground (~14k) and believe a WhisperFlow would be a good choice. However, my research on pool system design has been difficult. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of clear, straightforward guidance from either manufacturers or, my apologies, many dealers. The performance charts seem backwards in how they show the needed data and are not at all intuitive to myself or my friends who I’ve asked for help.
    I came across your video and, although it is rather informative and affirms my decision on the WhisperFlow, you did have a comment which frustrates me. You made allusions to the IntellaFlow being more efficient than the WhisperFlow in high output situations, like pop-up cleaners because the WhisperFlow would be working at, possibly, 100% where the IntellaFlow could be turned down to achieve the same output. This assertion has no explanation. Of course, the larger pump would be using less power than it would at maximum but, what really matters and should be the datapoint to mostly consider is CFM per watt. That is what really tells you what’s the most efficient choice. Unfortunately I have yet to see this metric in any manufacturer’s literature or any dealer’s. You wouldn’t shop for a car concerned about gas mileage without looking for the MPG rating. Why is this information missing in the pool industry?
    I do understand the WEF number but, until that’s specified on a graph against percent of max output it’s rather limited in an apples to apples comparison like you’re doing.
    I, obviously, don’t come from your industry but, I just seems that a few things could be easily improved to make this exercise more streamlined. Please advise.

      For more specifics, we would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer. They have great tech support specifically for those needs. 1-800-831-7133.

    Thx for the vid... Question.... On the Whisper VSP, can you just run this pump in manual mode and not a schedule? For instance, if I have a schedule set to start at 10:00am, but because of a special circumstance one day I want the pump come on at 9:00am, could I just press start and it'll start running? (I wouldn't want to change the schedule because it's only this one time that I want it to start at 9:00am). Here's another scenario where I'd just want to manually run it.... say pump schedule goes off normally at 7:00pm, but we're having a pool party from 9:00pm-11:30pm, so I'd want the pump running to run the waterfall...how could I put it in manual mode, so I can manually run it from 9:00pm-11:30pm, and then have it go back into schedule mode at 9:00am. Is that possible? (I had an old Intelliflo from 2015 and I could do this).

      Yes, this pump offers those same capabilities. Hope this helps!

    Nice video. Can the new Whisperflo VST 2.6HP be plumbed in at the same height for the suction line as an older single speed whisperflo from the late 2000s?

      Thank you for the comment! Yes, it will match up the same.

    Need a new pump, and a pool rep came out and recommended the new Whisperflo. Said the Intelliflo3 would be overkill. We would just be running it off the main filter. No spa, no automation, on a timer board, and about 14k gallons. Should we go with the 3 or stick with the whisperflo?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be fine with just the Whisperflo because even if you have an in-floor cleaning system it rates to a 2.6Hp motor which in-floor systems need 2Hp to be able to properly function. The Inteillflo3 would be more efficient for you though. Hope this helps!

    • @SquattingHen
      @SquattingHen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. No in floor cleaning system. Just the suction drains down there for the filter. We have a Polaris 280 on a separate booster pump. We also have a rarely used water feature on its own pump, on a separate switch. That gets used maybe 2 hours a year.
      Quote we were given has the 3 at $400 more total over the whisper.
      Thank you.

    I have a play pool with pop up cleaners. Soon I will have to get a new pool pump. I have a VS 3 HP now, someone said I don't need that much and recommended a 2 HP. What would you recommend? Love your video!

    • @ePoolSupply

      Bigger is a always better when it comes to pumps or filters in our opinion. More efficient and will tend to last a little longer as well. Hope this helps.

    Hi, great video, thanks. Maybe you can help me - I have a small pool (10x15x5) and I need the quietest pump on the market. Cost does not matter, it just needs to be the quietest (during the day) available. Do you have a recommendation? Thanks!

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Any of the Pentair variable speed pool pumps are the quietest pumps on the market in our opinion. Just depends on which one you need for your pool specifically. Hope this helps!

    So does it come with that cable or we need to buy it separately?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the comment! The cable comes separately for the 1.5HP and the 2.2. But the 3HP come with cables.

    Is it possible to preset a single speed and then turn the pump on and off by using an external timeclock or relay such as in an Aqualink?

    Will this pump be efficient for 2nd story roof-top solar?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible that it might but you wouldn't really be getting any of the energy savings you would normally be accustomed to with a 3 HP pump. You would have to run it all full speed at all times. Hope this helps!
