Oh yeah good ol' Z-Bo. A constant 20-10 guys who was immature earlier in his careee but then turn things around once he joined Memphis. I was very fortunate to be around during the days of Grit 'n Grind.
@xander3420 I understand you fools are trying to sound like something special took place, I'm 37 years old, and those days are nothing to gloss over. Smdh. Fanatics, you clowns will sensationalize anything just to feel special.
One of my all time favorite players. Memphis Grizzlies legend. A consistent 20 and 10 player in his prime. Loved his play style. Old school play in the post.
As a Lakers fan Z-Bo was just too likeable to not be a big fan of his. Dude had a gangsta aura about him but with a smooth low post game and a nice jump shot. He was really skilled and underrated and had that dog mentality
ahh good ol' Z-Bo. 20-10 guy who had an immaturity factor earlier in his NBA professional career but man once he joined Memphis in 2009 , everything changed for him and that era of Grit and Grind was just amazing him and Gasol in the frontcourt was beasting
z-bo’s career arc is a reminder that these athletes are human too. most of us don’t have shit figured out going into our 20’s and 30’s yet we expect these guys coming into the league in their early 20’s to have the maturity of a 15 yr vet.
I just expect them not to act like entitled jerks that think they can get away with everything. Young or not, these guys should know better. I would never jeopardize that sort of lifestyle, no matter how immature I was. Many of these guys are unappreciative of their position in life....and the only reason they have this position is because they were born tall, athletic and can put a ball through a hoop. Not exactly the most important job in the world, yet they get paid millions.
As an Oklahoman I always dreaded when the Thunder had to go up against the Grizzlies and Z-Bo in the playoffs . Much respect to him and his team, they were so damn good.
1:12 seeing how ZBo cooked Dray, it's crazy that people think Dray could guard Shaq. Everyone's fav part of his game is how he always grab those insane offensive rebounds and all the bully ball. However the best part is his FACIAL EXPRESSION as he's posting up 9:28 that mug lmao
Finally, he gets his 💐. I always picked him on nba 2k and always gave black griffin and the rest of the league the business and in real life basketball he was giving everyone the business. Yes he is a hall of famer for sure in my opinion.
I was a late bloomer to NBA basketball. I saw him play and speak to the media and just loved his humility and grind-it-out style of play in Memphis. Years ago, I saw a video on TH-cam documenting the Jail Blazers. I couldn’t believe what he did during that era. He really is the greatest redemption story in NBA history. Great video.
Few players we're the embodiment of a team's culture. When you say Grit n Grind, Z-Bo is that player and the whole city followed. This video is a perfect nod to Z-Bo's career.
Guy who made this video. You captured the highs and lows and highs of his career perfectly. Good job, sincerely. For a second I thought you were going a bit hard but then I didn’t even remember him on the clippers lol and you didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. You seriously did a great job covering his career in 10 minutes.
The Grit N Grind Grizzlies were one of the teams I grew up admiring. Loved their hustle and tenacity, especially on the defensive end. ❤💯 And I was rooting for them to make their first finals appearance back in 2013, but sadly the Spurs were just too much for them. 🥺
He was only on the Knicks for a short time, but I always loved his game, before and after that time. He was so skilled down low, had amazing foot work, and made the game look so smooth. I could watch his highlights all day because there are so few players, especially since the 90s that played like he did. He picked his spots on the court so well and because he was not the most athletic he reacted to whatever the defense did to him and did the exact opposite. If you notice he is almost always shooting with his off-hand so he could not be blocked. The way he found angles for shots and got his own rebounds for put-backs. He hardly ever dunked and never showboated when he scored except for just showing how tough he was. I could go on and on but I am such a fan of his game. If Steph Curry is the everyman player for people who are small and have one feature of their game that is better than everyone else (his shooting), Randolph is the everyman player for people who are big and not athletic. The feature of his game that was better than everyone else was his rebounding and use of his body to get space for his shots.
That lowkey diss on LaMarcus Aldridge was unwarranted lmao. Dude's a 7 time all star, still played great in Nets and I have no doubt he will make the HOF.
I love players like a Randolph those who work super hard, redeemed themselves, maybe make a few allstar teams but won’t make the hall of fame and more sadly, are rarely talked about.
That Griz team was always the dark horse every playoffs you don't know what to expect from them but you know they will give it to you. They can easily defeat any top teams in any day and nobody will be shocked. Memphis will always be the Grit & Grind era
Z-Bo is the perfect "Coming of Age" player. I loved watching Randolph thru his career and to say he's underrated is absurd! Who cares if he didnt have a vertical, bro can straight up ball, and thats all that counts. The most unfortunate thing is that it will take people years before they really realize how good Zach Randolph really was. Even in the Social Media/TH-cam era too. Bro came from before that time.
Randolph was a beast and a grinder who loved to win, just like the Grit 'n Grind Grizzlies! Who doesn't love to see scrappy players who want to win as much as possible! Even as a non-Grizzlies fan, I think all ball fans loved the Grit 'n Grind era.
As a Blazer fan during the ZBo era it was really frustrating that the teams sucked. Everyone knew Zach was capable of being awesome but he acted like a spoiled brat half the time. A shame because he was a really likeable guy. His below the rim style was unique and was fun to watch and he had so much success with it. I'm glad he turned it around. I think he will eventually get into the HOF.
I remember the Grit ‘n’ Grind Grizzlies had a couple playoff matchups with the Lob City Clippers early last decade. When you looked at Randolph next to Blake Griffin, you would have thought Blake would easily win that battle. However, Z-Bo used to bully Blake on both ends of the floor despite him being kinda chubby while Griffin was ripped. My dad called it a matchup of “working man muscle” vs. “gym muscle” and pointed out how the former can often get the best of the latter despite what you would expect initially.
I wish z bo still in the league he is the perfect mentor for ja morant.z bo is the kind of person who will always tell the truth no matter how harsh it is
Top 5 most underrated player. His game was so smooth despite his rugged demeanor. He’s a much better person than it once seemed as well. The player he got suspended for punching was Lou Amundsen who kissed him on the lips so you can’t really blame the guy.
Looking him play I never understood how such a non-athletic guy can score under the rim and how he´s shooting these hook-shots almost not looking at the basket. Then playing myself against similar guy (but of my level) I found out how tough it is to do defend against a player, who´s pressing you all the time and know how to use the body right
Z Bo was there for Blake’s rookie season but got traded away for Blake to take his spot Z Bo should be in the HOF eventually but his reputation ig is holding him back to be in the hof
He should be in the HoF, even tho media didn’t really bother reminding people about him he was a bucket. There are worse players in the HoF so why not him
Oh yeah good ol' Z-Bo. A constant 20-10 guys who was immature earlier in his careee but then turn things around once he joined Memphis. I was very fortunate to be around during the days of Grit 'n Grind.
Be around during those dayz??? 😂😂😂😂 smh corny
@@YoREalDaddy What about you? I bet you're a newer fan.
@@AirRusher1992 I am not a Grizzlies fan but I liked watching the grit and grind era with Tony Allen, Marc Gasol and ZBo. Always a fun game to watch
@@YoREalDaddyDon’t think you understand what corny means…
@xander3420 I understand you fools are trying to sound like something special took place, I'm 37 years old, and those days are nothing to gloss over. Smdh. Fanatics, you clowns will sensationalize anything just to feel special.
Sometimes, it really takes a family tragedy to propel a man’s life forward.
One of my all time favorite players. Memphis Grizzlies legend. A consistent 20 and 10 player in his prime. Loved his play style. Old school play in the post.
He never jumped high enough to touch the rim but his post moves were really fun to watch
Without ZBo there is no Grit N Grind as he was the absolute heart and soul of that team
That was Tony Allen who started that mentality, not ZBO.
@@MoistSandwhich That trifecta (Allen, ZBo, Marc) is what makes Grit'n'grind work.
Memphis legend!!! Always will remember his playing days!!! Loved him in that blue uniform!!
Great way to tie up the story at the end. This current Memphis team definitely needed someone like Zach.
“Where I’m from, bullies get bullied.” - Zach Randolph to Demarcus Cousins
As a Lakers fan Z-Bo was just too likeable to not be a big fan of his. Dude had a gangsta aura about him but with a smooth low post game and a nice jump shot. He was really skilled and underrated and had that dog mentality
Love the new background music! It perfectly fits Z-Bo’s comeback!
Randolph and the Grizzlies grit and grind era guys, I got nothing but love and respect to them 🇵🇭
Philippines. nice

Andy I really appreciate your stoytelling and nuance. You make it feel like it's about more than basketball. Good shit
Now this was a very heartfelt video, thank you for this and my 2k16 game, imma give this guy a ring💪🏀

Boy that 2011 upset was epic. Morant should really see what Z-Bo accomplished & get his act together ASAP.
And from what i read Zbo is about that life.
Got a chance to meet him while at a Wendy’s in Vegas This summer. Reallu cool dude man! Told him I loved the OKC vs Grizz playoffs days
The Grizzlies now have D-Rose. He will provide the veteran presence that they need. Especially for Ja.

Well Ja definitely has that mentor/ leadership with D-Rose
Now he just has to listen…
I had him as a suggestion for the "hall of very good." It's nice to finally see him get a video.
Blue collar is another word for criminally inclined 😂
Whoop dat trick Memphus 😂
Those Memphis teams during the Grit' n Grind years were some of my favorites. They were tough and hardnosed and it started with him. Great stuff!
That video of him seeing the kid is golden
Bro, congrats for reaching 500K subs

I don't follow basketball much during the Jailblazer days
The way he carried himself on and played Memphis i would have thought you were lying lol
My favourite player of all time! The reason I am a Grizzlies fan for life!
Most underated PF of all time

My bar none favorite player. Dude couldn't jump but could rebound.

He was my favorite player for many years!
Can you do the remaining Fab Five Members Jimmy King and Ray Jackson. Where they are from and now what they are doing
One underrated accolade he has; surviving being part of the infamous Jail Blazers
Great video!
He is so beloved here
Memphis ZBo was just a consistent double double threat in fantasy bball, hated going against him.
That Grit and Grind era was a splinter for me as a Spurs fan but damn did I respect them
Same as grizz fan. I loved beating yall as an 8 seed but damn did yall make us pay before and after but I hope wemby is that guy for yall
I loved Z-BO growing up
Great vid 🥹
yessir let's go ANDYHOOPS
That picture of z-bo and Patterson, you did Patterson dirty by showing off that hairline. Like oh my damn 😭
50 for da city!!! #RipCity foreva ❤🖤💪
Amazing, heart warming video well done 👏👏👏👏👏
Z Bo wasn't super athletic but he did the dirty work at an elite level
Dude you should start a myleague in 2k series .. I’m sure people would love that
Top 5 most underrated player. His game was so smooth despite his rugged demeanor. He’s a much better person than it once seemed as well. The player he got suspended for punching was Lou Amundsen who kissed him on the lips so you can’t really blame the guy.
Z-Bo is one of my favorite players, nice, Z-Bo is that grizzly logo on that court.
Walking 20 and 10 man was a bucket
Great story glad to see 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Z-Bo in Memphis Grizzlies UNSTOPPABLE 💪🔥💪
Lets go andy 🔥
I got to play with him when he was at Michigan State when I was little
1 of fav AT 🏀players for round 500k, fair enought, Andy
Congrats!👏
Z-bo was like a budget version of Barkley. And I always like seeing unathletic guys like Z-Bo do well in the league.
Zach Randolph can make a great assistant coach for these Memphis grizzlies. He could put Ja in check
I really rooting for Marcus Smart to be that guy for Memphis
Loved it
I remember bumping into this guy back in Nov 2010 at the Galleria in Houston...dude didn't look like an NBA star at all 😂
“Where I’m from bullies get bullets!”

When I think of grit n grind Grizzlies, I think of clippers, spurs, thunder, tony allen, marc gasol and of course zbo. Good old times🥲
Ironically there's another Michigan State Spartan spearheading the next Memphis wave. They were so much fun and so feared at the same time.
Jaren sorry af bro never compare him to Zbo again.
Z Bo was there for Blake’s rookie season but got traded away for Blake to take his spot
Z Bo should be in the HOF eventually but his reputation ig is holding him back to be in the hof
great story bro
personally, i wont get offended if me and my team mates were called *_JailBlazers_* in the NBA.
I think it sounds cool.
Im from memphis i grew up watching zbo i was there the night we retired his jersey it was truly beautiful.
He should be in the HoF, even tho media didn’t really bother reminding people about him he was a bucket. There are worse players in the HoF so why not him
Z-Bo - where I’m from bullies get bullets. my guy
Was great at sealiing in the post.lost art
Big Zach
Mayo Gay Battier Gasol ZBo, man this was a scary Memphis Grizzlies lineup. An all-around, well balanced team that were built with no all stars
Zach looked just like Paper Boi from ATL in the beginning.
ZBo is my favorite play ever, first name 20 last name 10!!!!!!
Z-Bo made me a Grizz fan; and the Grindfather also!
