I own this byk...it is really awesome...now no need to keep different byks for different terrains...this is all terrain byk i jus love it sold my 3 byks after purchasing this❤
The performance is pretty decent. It is obviously better than any Hybrid or mountain bike out there. The bottleneck in the setup is 38T crank. 42T would make it noticeably quicker in the top end
@eggbenedict-gt7mw A week ago, I upgraded the 38T to a 44T. So it now comes with 40-11 cassette and 44T on the front, which makes it FAST. I did consider the Polygon Bend R2. One of the main reasons I went with the RC120 Gravel is Decathlon's consistent servicing. Unless you have a good bike shop near you, I wouldn't suggest you getting other brands, unless you know to repair your bike yourself. The second reason why I went for RC120 Gravel is its 1x drivetrain, and the final reason was 700C tyres. I prefer the 1x drivetrain for its ease of maintenance and no cross chaining. The Bend R2 was considerably more expensive when compared to the RC120 Gravel also.
A good bike on paper like almost every Decathlon bike, especially sweet is the price point. Great that they did not paste Hartex tyres on them, those are a nightmare... Having said that, in my opinion, I find the quality of Decathlon bikes quite sus. I don't know if its a mental bias based on owning one Decathlon Rockrider previously. But, i sometimes feel the quality of components used aren't top notch, there's something always missing and the frequent breakdowns which shouldn't happen. It could just be me, have you heard anything similar from other cyclists?
Thanks for sharing your experience. I haven't heard of anyone having frequent breakdowns with Triban bikes. I have always experienced their products being of good quality. Yes, I do feel some things are a bit overpriced, but overall I've had a good experience. 😊
RR owner here. Have used my bike for the past 12+ years regularly with hardly any issues. I mainly cycle on tarmac and its a hybrid cycle. Have replaced - The stock tires with shwalbe marathon greenguard since the stock ones were absolutely pathetic. - Seat to the same one as on RC120. - Pedals. Have installed bar ends and wrapped them with bar tape to provide the 'hood' position. Want to upgrade to a proper gravel bike but the 60k price is absolutely ridiculous. Firefox Pirate 3.0 seems like a much more sensible option...but it's almost always out of stock. Decathlon is making a big fool of the naive indian consumer with their ridiculous pricing.
I have been using the Gravel 120 for over 10 months with ~1800kms. It is a solid bike. I've had quite a few punctures, though. I've converted them to tubeless, and there is absolute peace of mind. The service is outstanding. Every 200km, I clean and lube the chain, which is absolutely necessary to maintain performance and reduce wear and tear. The gear shifts are smooth and require adjustment every 400-500km, which I do it myself. 60k is well spent on this bike. The Gravel 120 is a FUN bike. Potholes, speed breakers, milled roads, platform drops or bad roads does not reduce my pace. At first, I thought that I paid a bit more for what the components deserve, but the 1x10 XLE with Mechanical Discs has held up very well. The best part of Decathlon is its service. It makes a huge difference when you purchase bikes upward of 50k. No ordinary mechanic or bicycle shops that sell regular bikes can handle premium cycles.
Brother, recently i gave a try to BRM 200 , jisme matheran ka climb bhi tha. Jahan se matheran climb start hota hai, wahan se mein bas jumma Patti tak he climb kar paaya( 2.5 kms) . I had a rented hybrid bicycle with 3*8 Shimano gears (specs nahi malum baki). It was hybrid bike with around 12-13 kg weight . BRM wahin quit kr dia kyunki climb nahi kr pa ri thi bike and i was also very tired. Kya RC120 mein top tak climb krna possible hai. And aap kitte samay se cycling kr re? We had 4 hrs 15 mins to reach matheran top from Belapur (navi mumbai ) around 66 kms. I want to attempt this BRM again in near future and looking to invest in a good road or hybrid bike. Aap recommend karoge ye bike for this BRM ride ya fir road bike Lena chahiye? Route is navi mumbai appollo hospital- matheran top - lonavala tiger hill- navi mumbai. Total 206km in 13.5 hrs . Most difficult is matheran climb with top at 66kms from starting point and cutoff time is 4 hrs 15 mins. Would love to get some bike recommendations around 60k, speed is also crucial as i felt in this BRM ride
Hi brother yes this BRM is a tough one. CIYC from NMKC. I participated in it last year. So, I think you need to work on developing your fitness and you can do it on the Hybrid bike as well which has 3 X 8 gearing. And regarding RC 120 Gravel or a road bike you'll have to decide the type of riding you want to do. If you want speed then you can go for a road bike and for slow touring RC 120 Gavel is good enough. Rc 120 gravel can do BRMs as well. Yes, it might be slower than road bikes but it is fast enough to do BRMs in their given time in my opinion. I hope this helps you. All the best and see you next year in Climb If You Can BRM 😀
Ok, par long run mai aapke petrol and gym ke paise kaafi save honge. Also jaruri nahi hai ki aap aisi hi cycle lo. 20, 000 mai bhi achi cycle aa jayegi
