I often struggle with things which doesn't work even if I do everything exactly like person in a video, but this time everything works as it should work and I'm enormously thankful for this tutorial! Good job, keep it going!
Excellent, thank you. I tried this with a corporate logo I'm working with. It works well. There are some issues with scaling once the image goes through the ImagePlane3D node. But that can be solved by keyframing the desired size in the Transform3D node as long as the original image has big enough resolution. I experimented with adjusting the copies in the Duplicate3D node as well. Great stuff. 😀
Just a quick tip for something I just fought with for quite a few hours, if you make a loop of this, you have to make sure the length of the PNG file is long enough. So I had to edit the properties on mediain to loop as well
Excellent detail - clearly for users experienced with the UI. This is my first Davinci project and I had to keep going back, but I got there in the end!
Hello, thanks for the great tutorial. I have a question: when applying the shadows, only the front part has the color of my logo, but the back part remains dark. How can I make the logo have color on both the front and back?
bro salute to you to able to understand davinci nodes whenever i use nodes and stuff , its too complex for me sometimes [how do you understand these nodes]
It could be confusing at first but nodes start making sense some time after using them😁 I learned nodes while using blender geometry nodes and shading.
What is the issue? if the whole logo goes dark instead of just the front, then you need to move that front layer by 1 pixel on the Z axis, it might be stuck in another layer
When I connect the Transform node to the Duplicate node in order to get the shadow, it still leaves the entire thing as the darker color instead of making the front look light, like it does for you. Can't seem to figure out why. Thanks for your previous input
the duplicate node is a cool hack to make an extrusion on an image, but I'm curious, do the lighting nodes not play nice with it and that's why you went with the color corrector to fudge the shadows?
I went step by step, but for some reason when I added color corrector and connected the transform 3d node to the duplicate 3d node, the logo only shows the darkened layers. It does not show the lighter "face" of the logo. I've ensured all the nodes are connected as the video shows. I'm using Davinci 18, if that matters. Any tips on the reasoning here?
It should bring the front layer forward by default, but if it does not, you can manually move the front layer, the one that's not darkened to the front by moving it on Z axis, moving it by 1 pixel should do the job
A wonderful compact and instructive tutorial! Only that with me, with my logo animation, after connecting the duplicated transform node above with the duplicate 3D1 node of the main line, it produces and connects to the new merge node - but the whole logo remains dark (gain 0.4)! Not only - like in you video - the duplicated layers. Do you have any idea why?
@SmertimbaGraphics Thank you for the quick reply. But because of my lacking Fusion knowledge I'm not sure if I understand your advice (operation mode of the merge node: I switched on and off the white dots with no result / don't know how to move the bright logo to the front). But maybe you mean the workaround I found by experimenting? : I connected the upper transform3D2 to the ImagePlane3D1, thus creating the merge node before the duplicate node (producing a gain difference between the front and the side of the logo), adding a second color corrector in the upper line and pushing up the gain for the whole composition (to 1.4.).
shadows dont work for my logo. if i decrease the gain, the whole logo is darker and the merge does not add the bright logo back on the front. just everything is darkened
@@SmertimbaGraphics I have tried it on different occasions, though I was able to animate the logo using 3d render.. I think the issue is with davinci resolve 17.2
It's been a while since I saw a tutorial so well done, I followed all the steps and it turned out perfect, the only problem I had was that my PC stuck for about 30 seconds and the program closed, I think I can't stand it lmao do you know the way to stop me does that happen? right now I have 32gb of ram PD: this channel is amazing

Thankyou for teeling that hardware vs software rendrer bit saved me a loot of time as it was taking me hours to render 15 sec clips before
Welcome✌️
Good tutorial. Very Fast. I had to go back and forth a lot, because you were going so fast. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful after all 😁
slow down the playback speed to 0.75!
how to export this in transparent background where i can use this as on aoverlay on other videos?
Don't add a background to the animation and it will remain transparent
Your skills are crazy
No they are not😂 but thanks❤️❤️
Hello, thanks for the great tutorial. I have a question: when applying the shadows, only the front part has the color of my logo, but the back part remains dark. How can I make the logo have color on both the front and back?
If you don't want the shadow effect, don't go through those steps and leave the logo as it is, if that is what you meant

from the shadow and after 2:50 i never can do it right.....is something change to davinci?

You've got to move the layer with original bright color to the front, try it via transform 3d node
@@SmertimbaGraphics Hmm, can't seem to see anything that allows me to do so through the Transform 3D node

didnt work@@SmertimbaGraphics

Thank you too ♥️

Yeah, it's sort of a quick workaround to actual lighting and shadows😁
That's wonderful thanks you so much ❤
You're welcome 😊

Works great, but the logo I used doesn't look right with perspective turned on. How do I turn it off?

Try changing the operation mode of the merge node or move the bright logo to the front via transform node

There are always multiple ways to fix something, usually it's best to just experiment with it until you get it done, you will learn in the process
@@SmertimbaGraphics That's roughly what also my Python coding son (19) told me ... 🙂
How do I make this animation longer? I want it to rotate after it fades in
The animation is only 119 frames, and won't let me extend passed that
You need to extend fusion composition from edit page, then increase the distance between keyframes
shadows dont work for my logo. if i decrease the gain, the whole logo is darker and the merge does not add the bright logo back on the front. just everything is darkened
Add a transform node to the front layer and move it on the Z axis slightly until it comes to the front. Sometimes it glitches out
@@SmertimbaGraphics i cant understand this why it glitch alll the time

shadow thing is not working, can u please help me
after connecting transform 3D to Duplicate 3D, still every part of logo is shadow
Basically, you need to move the front layer that's not darkened down to the front, add another transform node to it and try moving it on Z axis
when i connect to duplicate3D, nothing happen ???
You pretty much have to move the layer without the shadow to the front, try moving it on the Z axis until it's at the front
@@SmertimbaGraphics i figure out this bro, thanks
if i go back to the edit tab there is no animation, the photo just pops up outta nowhere
Did you create keyframes for the animation?
@@SmertimbaGraphics yes
