Tip: dont be afraid to re boil!. Took me 2 cycles to mold it, it may take some people 3 or 4. Overall best gumshield ever. Wore it for 4 years boxing and now wearing it again getting back into boxing.
If you boil it until it's soft and wash for two seconds and put it in your mouth and hold it there it will fit only your mouth it's easy I did it with mine

Maybe it's just because I have overbite, but I molded it twice and it falls out very easily, as soon as I open my mouth. It doesn't stick to the jaw, it basically just lays in there. I really hope it's not gonna suck during sparring, but my first expression isn't very good. Expected more from the top selling mouthguard.
I had one of these for a season and it was a great mouth guard that fitted well and was good protection

We don't recommend using it with braces as the gel may mold with the brackets and damage them. We make braces specific mouthguards that are highly protective and can be molded. You can find them here: www.shockdoctor.com/products/mouthguards-1/all

hard plastic prevents soft plastic from forming a tight fit. Tried several times reboiling, and purchasing new mouth guard. Best mouth guard I ever had was 5 dollars and just made of the soft material.
Yea man this thing sucks. My muay thai trainer even had the nerve to tell me "Shock Doctor" idk where he's coming from since he used to compete... I've been wasting hours molding the thing.
The best one is the one that doesn't fall out of my mouth.

where is dental guard for EATING?? FOOD/EAT-GUARD! for upper and lower teeth, would protect teeth from any and all harms from acidic food digested by bacteria, no holes, no caries, no teeth extraction, no infection of gums, and any age can use it. Put on when eating and off when eaten, clean with water. just put two drops of adhesive gel inside the guard and it sits firmly.
There are all kinds of protections eg. from rain, umbrella, rain cloth, shoes, sunglasses, seat belt and airbag for cars, bicycle helmets for heads, but where is EAT-GUARD for teeth?! After all those years with super technology we got today this would be the simplest yet most important thing for our teeth! So much money is put into Research and development of other stuff yet no funding for EAT-GUARD development! Government, people, dentist associations must fix this FOR SAKE OF HUMANITY! Thanks.

Eddie Thomas is actually right... this mouth guard is a serious disappointment... Actually, mine felt too bulky and wasn't a good fit either and, at first, i had huge regrets too.
I did try to remould it over and over again tho, to get a better fit. and realised it needed 3:20 min in the hot boiled water instead of the recommended 1:30 sec (or 90 sec as the instructions say).
I read and followed those instructions perfectly and all i got was one disappointing fit after another. The gel is still too hard to mould around the teeth after 90sec.
So after i used my own discretion.. the mouth guard got nice and soft enough to fit well. I kept a watchful eye on it to make sure that the material will not damage as i kept it in the boiled water for a longer time.
finally after remoulding it about 8 times, i realised 3:20 was the best time to allow in to soften up sufficiently and the fit was perfect. Problem with remoulding tho, is that it stretches the gel out and spreads it onto the roof of ya mouth... which makes it thinner i guess.
i'd like to buy the mouthguard once again and see how it'll look n feel if i got the fitting right on the first attempt... but I still gat save up for it... if u guys like i can send a video to show u how well mine fits in comparison to other gel max shock doctor mouth guards that have been fitted on you tube... maybe i'll even post a video too.
bottom line, i think the mouthguard is protective and fits good but those instructions are WWAAAAAAYY OFFFF!!!!

When I wear this mouthguard I have to use my bottom row of teeth to hold it in even when I do it fall out is there any suggestion
I used it for a season it’s a good mouth piece but mine was not durable it split in half on the last game in my mouth how. That happened I have no idea

When I put the mouth guard it fits but when I close my mouth my wisdom teeth pull the mouth guard down from the front thus removing it. I want to cut a bit off from the back but I'm afraid the mouth guard wont hold anymore.

Honestly, i find it very underprotecting compared to my old cheap one. It stops too low on the teaths, even after 2 moldings, i appreciate they have a wider frame, but it’s useless if you can’t get it deep enough on your teeth..

Shock Doctor. My mouth guard fell off a lot too. The gel was too hard to mould onto my teeth after 90 sec. i was a sad customer that day.
i let it soften up for 3:20min and it had a better fit, but then i had to trim the excess gell that stretched to the roof of my mouth and some gel that also went far back behind my molars.
My only concern now is that y'all gna hold that against me if my teeth had to get busted out while I'm using it, cz obviously i have breached them terms and conditions by doing this...
This is messed up because i feel like ya'll need to get your shit right too. It's clear that those instructions are way off because this mouth guard doesn't fit good after 90sec. someday i'll post a video to let show u how well my mouth guard fits.
I’ve had the same problem as u I was really good at MMA but I had weird teeth so my mouth guard always feel into my mouth I lost lots of fights cus I already had breathing problems and the mouth guard was just a distraction

Guys the exosceletal shock frame feels like its gonna cut the inside of my lips ,in front of my mouth thats how i feel if get punched in the front teeth . Any solution to this problem? I bought the gel max product!
Get a dremel tool and try to round it more or make it smaller where You feel it is uncomfortable…

@@mr.potatoe4545 um I did it yesterday, it fits perfectly for me. Keep trying until it works, if it doesn’t I would suggest to buy a new one from a different brand.

Pretty bad mouth guard unfortunately doesn’t stick or fit firm at all after 4 cycles of boiling it still didn’t fit

SAFE?!?!?! I chipped at least 4 of my teeth while using this piece of garbage. Also they don’t fit and will never fit my teeth. Even after reading the instructions thoroughly, it still doesn’t work. This is probably on of the most worst mouthpieces to get out at a sporting goods store. I’d rather use the crappy ones that my school gives away. Those have a perfect fit in my mouth. And when I did use this “mouthpiece”, after the second game of the season, (football) it was just done being a mouthpiece and more of a ball of plastic and gel. So if you are reading this, don’t buy these things. They only want your money!
