btw, for y'all talkin bout anthony in the band, go check out circa survive! his newest band (a few years old) but he does a great job and the intsrumentalists are awesome. it's not post core though. just rock. saosin's post core three years was the best :3
I have to say I like what Tilian did here. His twist with the highs and screams are great. The harmonies remind me of their first cd but way more advanced. I think he would be a great addition to saosin. He fits really well with this style of music
i'm not just saying they both sang for saosin, but tillian honestly sounds like a hybrid of anthony and cove. In the mid range notes he has the masculinity of Cove. But high up he sounds a lot like AG.
@PeanutButterGtr They'll lose fans that they got from the Cove Era, but they will regain a lot of old Saosin fans like me that couldn't stand any of Saosin's newer songs. This is going back into the right direction
I stopped listening to Saosin after Green left and has since followed circa and his solo stuff which is great, I could never find a Reber song I liked but this has potential.
@saosurvive126 IKR and that person didn't even have a clue what real Saosin was to begin with! Tillian has a great voice man, i think he's got it man! Cove's got this new band i think its called Patriot, very different needless to say...and yeah that is what makes it so much better, they are coming back to their original sound which i think will take them much further than their sound they had with Cove
Translating The Name = self-titled album = this demo > In Search Of Solid Ground. It's all good rock music though, no matter what singer takes the helm in this band.
@020stevenleu iron maiden actually has gone thru more before releasing anything they had paul day, their first 2 albums had paul dianno. they became more famous with bruce dickinson who was later replaced by blaze bayley before dickinson returned in 1999. however, saosin has done it much faster than iron maiden ever did
I would audition since I can hit those Cove and Anthony Green high notes, but I dunno how to get in touch with them and plus I'm not sure if I like this direction. I've always loved Saosin so it'll be interesting to see where they go from here.
@xYOURxNOTxALONEx I totally agree with you. Saosin is even going back to self producing. It's like the Anthony Green years all over again. I predict they'll lose like half their fans. :( It's sad.
Cove was completely on point with the self titled album. Band members as well..only album I ever owned I listened to every single song and I own wide variety of music
His voice has a good tone here... I agree with what other posters have said... the mix needs to kick the mic volume up on Tilian... he's getting muffled by the music. All in all... I am digging the new jam. It's going to be hard to beat their self-titled album though.., that album was...is... fantastic.
he sings more closer to Anthony Green than Cove was, i think, at the same time, it kinda makes me think of a cross between the singer from Scary Kids Scaring Kids and the singer from Sleeping With Sirens, what ya think? ^.^
@TheThespian23 dude, play 2 Tides of Man albums back to back to people who don't know who they are, and it sounds like a bunch of Circa Survive... Tillians voice hits numerous "Green" tones and I love it
i miss cove but if this the new singer it pretty good as long as saosin sticks to that melodic and progressive sound (if i say something wrong about their type of genre im sorry cus i don't my kinds of genres to well so dont freak ).
@zubin27 They were. The old Saosin was the best. Kinda mainstream-y rock with a unique twist. After AG left Saosin turned into Just Another Screamo Band.
you guys all realize the production of this demo has a very negative impact on the actual music itself? if this were to be recorded in a professional studio environment everyone would love it, but you can't hear the depth of the music or vocals since it sounds like a pre-production demo. i'm stoked nonetheless. up until the self titled saosin album was all i could stand. anything after that went downhill in my opinion. glad to get back to almost anthony green roots.
@tedwards2012 Hahah no dude, I am fully aware that Tilian is the vocalist for this track, you can tell it's him. I'm purely speculating how uncannily similar to Anthony's the backing vocals are at that specific time. I know he would have never come in to record this song. It just weirds me out a little how much the line "it seems so clear" sounds like Anthony is all..
if you count bury your head as a demo, the vocals on that were a lot more memorable than this. I love saosin, but I feel like these demos sound like they're back at their local gig stage. nothing really grabs onto you, the way their music always has since ttn. even some of the stuff I didn't like on isosg was still catchy.
I know Tilian DOES sound a lot like Anthony Green on this track (which I fricking love, even the music sounds like the Anthony-era Saosin), but a friend pointed out to me... the backing vocals in the chorus at 0:57; "It seems so clear", sounds waaaaay too much like Anthony to be Tilian :\ the pronunciation and everything... hmm... I don't know :S
im sick of hearing people saying that these new songs remind them of old saosin or anthony green... maybe some of the instruments have some elements from translating the name. but the singing... yeah right... this guy would be alright if he put some balls in his high pitched singing... its like hes whispering almost...
At first, I didn't really like this. Then, I listened to Tides of Man (so good). Promises came up on my ipod and I was all like... WHAT IS THIS?! I'm uber psyched now.
not crazy about the edit, but the CD will be great. Those not familiar with Tides of Man should check them out and imagine Tillian with a band like Saosin behind him...can't wait
but i love cove and i love the music they made with cove and anthony it's not just about them you know guys saosin is great because the music as a whole they make it art. ill love and understand anything they release because they get it...
@chadams123 dude are you serious. this is a rough demo. why dont you go listen to the change demo or tides of man. this guy can hit high notes extremely well
@cardboardtox I prefer Anthony to Cove but their first album was their best work. There was no screaming after Anthony left so your argument is invalid anyway
I remember when this song was titled "Back to Greatness". Regardless, Saosin needs a vocalist who can perform as good or even better live than on the recordings. If Tilian can do that, then he has a chance.
@gavinasaurus what im saying has nothing to do with how high he can sing, or his vocal range. im saying. stop whispering. put more power in his voice. the music in saosin has power. and it just doesnt sound right if his voice has no power. i know hes a good singer. maybe it will sound better live. but on recordings... he needs power.
@tedwards2012 if this were to be true, saosin has just confirmed that they were at their best with the TTN EP when anthony was singing and the guitars were shredding. This sounds like their older stuff imo
@ACMC85 he was not,at least not the whole time, that's the reason they kicked him.. I saw live in '05 the first time (i live in Germany or else I'd have seen them more often, believe me) at this gig, he was awesome, really.. in 2006 as well, but in 2008 his voice was kinda bad and I thought, he was sick or something, so I watched more live videos and it's true, he became worse. I remember, beau said, he was smoking a lot, even for concerts and he also complained about his other behaviour.. :/

I think Tilian made a mistake leaving tides of man to join saosin - that band was killing it, just listen to /watch?v=JEW5gMqhid0 - now he's put it all on the line and to me there is nothing overly new sounding about this track, plus who wants to walk into that annoying Anthony Green, Cove, whose the better vocalist bullshit that 15 yo girls and boys talk about. Saosin have done sweet f/a in the last 2 years which could have been spent promoting tides, but whatever his choice and all the best
@RGdood ehh i agree and disagree man, i prefer cove or anthony but we can't have them. im glad saosin is not sitting on their asses ,and instead actually doing something. i think someone said it perfect earlier he needs a more aggressive voice (like cove).
You guys musnt have seen Saosin live. Coves voice wasn't what it is on the records. It really was quite poor but I agree that it won't be the same without him. HOWEVER this song is just a demo. When its released it will be alot better.
I loved cove and Anthony but this song and exfoliator really makes me think tillian was the best choice I mean these are easily in my top 10 saosin songs now
I like Tillan's voice but i definitly prefered Cove. But i'm not an idiot i know Cove aint coming back. Tillan is definatly a very talented singer. I think he just sings to "cutesy" He needs to get more agrresive and show the passion. But then again you can't judge anything from a demo track and if you do you're an idiot. Come on Tillan get in my face and show me you mean it!
This guy has got a decent voice, but i dont think he fully fits with them. I'll always think Green did the best out of the three, especially considering Cove's perpetual decent live which helped get his ass bumped. But i think there are definitely better vocalists out there who could fill this void nicely.
You've obviously never met him. I've met him quite a few times and he also sang to my then girlfriend (ex now) over the phone when I asked him to. So I would have to disagree with you.
@chadams123 but it doesnt sound like hes whispering at all. how can you say any of that after they had cove for 2 cds. that guy was terrible. his voice sounded like crap and live it was even worse. i know everyone has their own opinion but dude come on this guy blows cove out of the water. he may not be anthony green but no one ever will be able to compare to him
then i'd stop listening to Saosin :p seriously, i think the best option would be Chris Carrabba from Further Seems Forever/Dashboard Confessional. his vocals on the new FSF album are phenomenal and he knows when to sings louder/more aggressive as shown on their new songs. too bad he's already busy. Moon from Story Of The Year could also be a great fit but he's also busy :/
This is a diamond in the rough for someone who grew up with Saosin who has come to love DGD and Tillian's vocals. Love this.

Tillian is amazing. I saw him fill in for Johnny Craig when he was in Detox during an Emarosa show, he's such a nice dude.
btw, for y'all talkin bout anthony in the band, go check out circa survive! his newest band (a few years old) but he does a great job and the intsrumentalists are awesome. it's not post core though. just rock. saosin's post core three years was the best :3

Ok! I'm feeling the old Saosin now! Yah keep it going Saosin!
Personally, it reminds me of the anthony green days, but the instrumentals are so much better and evolved than what they once were.
The fuck is with all these comments treating this shit like a football game? It's fucking music and I love it.
@saosurvive126 IKR and that person didn't even have a clue what real Saosin was to begin with! Tillian has a great voice man, i think he's got it man! Tilian is going to be so good with Saosin.
consider the passion from tides of man..
hell be bad ass..
trust me/..
omg not everything has to be an eruption of fucking insanity these vocals are power as they are
God I wish they would continue with Tilian. I haven't been this excited about saosin since before the s/t came out.
Well, Tilian is in Dance Gavin Dance now. Gonna be kinda weird if Tilian records the new album with Saosin.
tillans better then both of the other ex leads , this guys talented, lets just see if soasin can keep up
he sings more closer to Anthony Green than Cove was, i think, at the same time, it kinda makes me think of a cross between the singer from Scary Kids Scaring Kids and the singer from Sleeping With Sirens, what ya think? ^.^

lol love the comment! haha. "Get in my face! Let me have it!" hahah very nice
Great singer, if you disagree go listen to Tides of Man and then lets see your opininon....honestly

I wish Tilian was slightly louder in the mix! Love his voice.

so much win

THIS SONG IS THE SHIT MAN ITS AN UPGRADE FROM THE LAST ALBUM!
I personally like this dude singing he sounds a little like Anthony Green which is when I thought they were at their best
im sick of hearing people saying that these new songs remind them of old saosin or anthony green... maybe some of the instruments have some elements from translating the name. but the singing... yeah right... this guy would be alright if he put some balls in his high pitched singing... its like hes whispering almost...
this is pretty good but nothing's gonna come close to self-titled album that shit kicks more ass than a fucken automatic ass kicking machine.
Tillian Pearson + Saosin = AMAZING.
@perezfernando57 I miss him too.
@OmegaDork31 that was the first thing i thought too lol
At first, I didn't really like this. Then, I listened to Tides of Man (so good). Promises came up on my ipod and I was all like... WHAT IS THIS?! I'm uber psyched now.
Ich finde den Song gut.
is this the only powerful and epic rock band with a career three singers long?
i think this sounds alot better than the demos with cove maybe because...tillian can actually consistently hit notes? haha just a guess
@thesaps Do you realize he took Saosin places they will NEVER go again?
Is it just me, or is there a little Coheed and Cambria in there?
reminds me of vocals from edison glass
not crazy about the edit, but the CD will be great.
YOU CAN HEAR THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN TIDES OF MAN (Tilian's old band) and THIS NEW SAOSIN!!!
HAHAHAHAHA!
CURSE U FOR LEAVING TILIAN!!
it sounds lik jamies elsewhere without the screaming
i'll love most of anything they make if they don't scream. they're too good to need to.
@chadams123 dude are you serious. this is a rough demo. why dont you go listen to the change demo or tides of man. this guy can hit high notes extremely well
@cardboardtox I prefer Anthony to Cove but their first album was their best work. There was no screaming after Anthony left so your argument is invalid anyway
lol i stop listening to the band for about a year or so i come back and the vocalist has changed lol
I've got a download link on my video of this song.
Download link, please.
I remember when this song was titled "Back to Greatness". Regardless, Saosin needs a vocalist who can perform as good or even better live than on the recordings. If Tilian can do that, then he has a chance.
I want to hear Tillian do some well known Saosin songs :)
Someone help me. Who was their vocalist for their album 'saosin' ? Cove ? Cuz he is my favorite vocalist
@gavinasaurus what im saying has nothing to do with how high he can sing, or his vocal range. im saying. stop whispering. put more power in his voice. the music in saosin has power. and it just doesnt sound right if his voice has no power. i know hes a good singer. maybe it will sound better live. but on recordings... he needs power.
i think .. the best voice option for saosin would be craig owens from Chiodos :))
@tedwards2012
if this were to be true, saosin has just confirmed that they were at their best with the TTN EP when anthony was singing and the guitars were shredding. This sounds like their older stuff imo

i love tillian....tides of man was good stuff. yall be trippin cuz anthany green has been gone for years, not months Time to let goo bro
it's like a mix of claudio from coheed and cove. trippy shit. loving the new song though.

@JrFirefighter8 i agree.
Cove did "Saosin" yes and also "In Search of Solid Ground"
@REX: Progressive and melodic are not genres.
reminds me of when anthony was the vocalist, which is a good thing.
@jgruv20 how it isn't Saosin ?
Theyre starting ro push more towards Anthony's little kid sound now
@RGdood ehh i agree and disagree man, i prefer cove or anthony but we can't have them. im glad saosin is not sitting on their asses ,and instead actually doing something. i think someone said it perfect earlier he needs a more aggressive voice (like cove).

i hear anthony in this song
I loved cove and Anthony but this song and exfoliator really makes me think tillian was the best choice I mean these are easily in my top 10 saosin songs now
is this really promises or a new song ? its diff than the other one they recorded with tilian .
@punkazn Within a year, the name Saosin won't even be relevant anymore :(
Cove
I like Tillan's voice but i definitly prefered Cove. But i'm not an idiot i know Cove aint coming back. Tillan is definatly a very talented singer. what will happen to Saosin?
actually i change my mind. tilian rocks!! XD
for real he kinda sounds a lot like anthony

Shit I didn't wanted Anthony back,he is better of on Circa now.... Tillian was a great choice tho
coheed meets mello. if they tried harder, it would work. sounds lackluster. good song though.
@chadams123 but it doesnt sound like hes whispering at all. how can you say any of that after they had cove for 2 cds. that guy was terrible. his voice sounded like crap and live it was even worse. i know everyone has their own opinion but dude come on this guy blows cove out of the water. he may not be anthony green but no one ever will be able to compare to him
then i'd stop listening to Saosin :p
seriously, i think the best option would be Chris Carrabba from Further Seems Forever/Dashboard Confessional. his vocals on the new FSF album are phenomenal and he knows when to sings louder/more aggressive as shown on their new songs. too bad he's already busy. Moon from Story Of The Year could also be a great fit but he's also busy :/
