I think the sad leaves on the Longans while it’s putting out new growth is just natural leaf cycling. It purges its old leaves to grow fresh ones. Lots of evergreen trees do that as an alternative to being deciduous (losing them all at once).

You're right. I recall avocado leaves do that at this time of year!

Plant all your lawn areas with fruit trees so it solve your problems mowing them.

Path ways around trees are needed and thats where most of the lawn grows. The taller established trees and density planting have noticeably slowed down grass growth.

Hi George! Could you kindly please advise how frequent and what method you do to water your fruit trees ?

I hand water with a hose in the summer. Frequency depends on rainfall and when over 30C. Usually, I never water anything from April to October.

Hey Kim, choko tip can cook stir fry

Thanks for the tip! We regularly use the young tips and leaves. Unfortunately, the choko is pulling down our fence and invading into our neighbours yard, so it will have to come out.

do you hand pollinate the custard apple? I just planted one few months ago and coming to life now with buds already ! I am in Perth

Sometimes I do, but usually dont. Being in Perth, it'll benefit you to hand pollinate early to get a harvest before winter. Mine ripen in December as I get late flowers in summer.

Do you have a male and a female kiwiberry?

I have Issai, which is self fertile. The fruitlets drop at the height of summer due to zero rainfall.
