I've taken it for about 12 years now and it has treated the schizophrenia symptoms but makes me very tired and unmotivated. I'll choose the ladder symptoms any day, thus why I've taken it so consistently for so long. I started at 1600mg a day when my symptoms were severe, and have gradually moved down to 300 a day and feel good mentally. Much love to anyone struggling and don't give up on yourself.

Believe me this medication saved my life. For 20 years I suffered from paranoia whereby I would feel people were staring at me when I looked into their eyes, causing me to avoid eye contact. It ruined my life. I avoided social situations . It was a dark time for me and lasted two decades.
I tried anti depressants but they did not work; had copious amounts of therapy but no use, until this came into my life.
I take a small dose of 50mg each night and started taking it about 7 years ago. Tried to come off them a few times but my paranoia quickly returned. A true lifesaver for me.

I used this medication for insomnia, I would pass out 20 mins after taking it, It worked very well for sleeping. Unfortunately I had to stop taking it as I had an increased appetite and weight gain. I got prescribed this at 13, which in my opinion was way too young to be taking this drug. Took 50 mg seroquel er. I woke up to go to the bathroom and became very faint. Felt like I couldn’t breathe. I started to go pee but I was losing consciousness and had to stop and lye down. I don’t know how long I was on the floor. I woke up cold face down on the floor. I don’t remember this. Somehow I got a granola bar from my closet shelf. All I remember is doing an army crawl back to my bed because I didn’t want to pass out again. I remember my husband asking what I was doing? I said I’m trying to get back in bed. The next morning he said I was struggling with a wrapping for about 20 minutes. I have no recollection of this. But sure enough the wrapper was on my nightstand. All I remember is pulling myself back into bed and just passing out. I took this medication at 6 pm the night before. The dizziness and fatigue stopped 2 hours ago. Definitely not for me. But if it helps other’s then that’s great. Scariest shit I have ever taken. Never again!

@@marilee8288 you sleep better on a smaller dose. I've currently went down 100 mgs from 400mgs for sleep. It's God awful. Pure hell. Be careful with this drug. I was a zombie on this drug. It's meant to dumb you down. Can not wait to get off of this crap. At higher doses it can cause hallucinations among a multitude of other side effects. Taking a larger dose as you ask? Often feels like organs such as the heart and lungs are literally shutting down. When you wake up you may not be able to move for awhile. You may feel panicky as it's hard to breathe like your lungs are asleep. It does cause sudden cardiac death. I can't warn you enough. Please stay at a low dose. Look this drug up. Read ppls reviews. Look how many ppl take this drug. I know it rates in the top 10. I would also suggest "The history of psychiatry". Now that it's proven there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance they've came up with a new catch phrase. Very interesting stuff. I was utterly shocked by what I found researching psychiatry. Rose Kennedy given a lobotomy. So sad. Now they mostly do chemical lobotomies via drugs for depression and other things. Don't let Drs define you. Make good choices.

@@marilee8288 200 MG just makes me sleepy after about 45 minutes, most of the time. Some nights I have to take 2 and on rare occasion I've taken three. they just let me sleep, but sometimes I can really feel the anxiety leave my body, which is what it takes. Does anyone else get a blocked nose from taking Quetiapine? I took it for almost 3 years to help with anxiety and it was good, I had no problems, then last year my nose started blocking up when I take it and it's still doing now every time I have one, so I basically have nothing to help with my anxiety anymore. Was wondering if anyone else experiences this and if they know why?

I started lactating and lost my period and was incredibly itchy. It turned out that the tiny dose I took for sleep gave me a pituitary gland tumour that gave me menopause at 30, the endocrinologist said I had the hormones of an 80 year old. I had to take Dostinex to shrink the tumour and spent every weekend in bed throwing up from it. The first time I took seroquel I fainted in the shower, I was 22 and I phoned the doctor saying I don’t want to take this stuff. She told me I had to so I did what she said. She also put me on Effexor 150 and that eventually gave me seizures. Then Lexapro and that gave me seizures too.

This Doctor has in no doubt been very helpful in explaining clearly and in depth medications and their uses. Those who need it probably wont have to look much farther than here. However, having recently been interested in big pharma and these medications, this Dr. seems to make this a very light hearted, relaxed discussion when talking about drugs with serious side affects such as Seroquel. Antipsychotics are not drugs to be taken lightly and alot of the side effects can be severely detrimental to your health (despite them being non-addictive). I would encourage people not to use this class of medications for extended periods of time unless you have extremely serious psychotic symptoms, and not just any and every thing under the sun. Only until now are Dr.s at least in the USA understanding the horrible side effects antipsychotics can have, and shouldn't be prescribed for such thingsa s "anxiety, depresssion,or insomnia"

    • @robertrowan8738

also what they do not tell you is how difficult it can be for some patients to come of there medications.

they will blame the return of your illness, whether it is or not.

Well thats my main drug coupled with mirtazapine and ssris for anxiety and depression. When u have severe case ssris dont help, they're like water to me. I need multiple drugs to get the hang on my anxiety. And even all these drugs combined dont do much, thats how severe it is. So yeah, its normal to treat mdd/panic with multiple drugs. The only difference is that i take low doses since i dont rly need antipsychotic effects. 50-100mg and plus mirtazapine 7.5mg and zoloft 100mg. Also lamotrigine. Its still not enough to sedate me but its manageable, i dont wanna increase it to higher doses.

I'm getting this prescribed for my burnout. Important to add that I both have adhd and autism, which were both undiagnosed intill my early 30's. So I am experiencing a lot of overstimulation without having the skills to cope with those in a healthy way. So this medicine should help me sleep, if I take it in the later evening.
Of course we're talking about a pretty hefty kind of medicine, so I'll be in contact with my doctor daily to see how it goes.
Interesting that I'm not supposed to break it. I'm a nurse in the Netherlands, and often the farmacy doesn't send smaller doses then 25mg. So I'm forced to split it in order to give 12,5mg. I'll make sure to contact our doctor about that next time.

My psychiatrist also recommended me this for taking a lower dosage. The reason he doesnt mention it in the video probably is because it is off-label use. using seroquel for sleep problems is also off-label use for example.

Ur sex drive should be ok after getting used to it plus the bonus I found was it was great at getting me to sleep 💤 take it about 30 mins before u plan to actually sleep n it should help greatly. When dealing with the actual issue of my major depression plus my anxiety & ptsd I would say it helped greatly with 2 of them which were the depression & anxiety, sadly it never helped my ptsd. All I an say is I’m sill on it n just dealing with my ptsd on its own via therapy etc. But plz trust Dr Evil & myself in saying if you have depression it will help & anxiety also. I’m on it purely so I deleted my first 2 issues as I said & i found it to be an amazing medicine, give it a go n listen to dr evil also. If u need any further advice plz ask. 😊

Have you tried exercising, but really tried it hard? That really saved me. At the beginning just the action of dressing up and walking to my street corner was exhausting. Everyday I made a new little improvement. Took me time to take my shit together and start exercising but only 2 years after starting, I was in a completely different place mentally. There’s times I stopped exercising, perhaps when I started feeling better but then relapsed in my meds. I quickly understood that the fight has no end, everyday I have to push myself and if I succeed, i stay far from those meds. Now I run not less than 6 miles everyday and I’m off those meds. It’s fucking hard but it’s possible to run that much. I’m not saying it will cure you but if you push yourself physically every single day, I guarantee you will see an improvement in your mental health. Consistency is the key. Seroquel has helped me sleep and delay depression and irritability. My life is better not getting random depression episodes and not lashing out with anger on people who dont deserve it. People like me more because im happier and nicer to others and not have a wall that blocks people from getting to know me. I can deal with the insomnia. People wanting to be your friend is worth it. Some medication works. Dont listen to those who says not the take effective treatment. Most likely they are not coming from experience or didnt find the right treatment and lose hope and say all of the meds are bad.

One of the weirdest side effects i get when i increase the dose is stuffed/blocked nose to the point that i can't breathe at all and i have to breathe through mouth lol. But it settles down after 3-4days. Not so uncommon i guess.
Edit: doesn't really settle down but it gets better 🤣🤣 even to this day after 40-50mins of taking it my nose gets blocked somewhat

I was in a chemical straitjacket. I was a zombie for 24 hours a day, sleeping incredibly long. When I finally got out of bed, it was a struggle to get to the kitchen.
And then what happens on Seroquel is that it freezes your muscles and shuts your muscle system down. So, it's really hard to walk. And when I did walk I had no control over my ability to stop walking, so I walked into walls.
With street names such as "Suzy-Q, quill, brain glue, Q-ball, baby heroin" you would think to stay far away from this ☠poison☠

If you have been on Ativan for awhile I think you will have a hard time getting off it. It’s a benzodiazepine so suddenly stopping it might cause some severe withdrawal. Serequel is probably more difficult to stop than any drug on the market today. The side effects are horrible. It’s in the literature that it causes cataracts and that’s exactly what happened to me. If you are using it for sleep it will work but try to use the lowest dose you can. I was on 100mg and I Have been tapering for almost a year to get to 50 mg. After I reach 50 able take me at least another year and a half to get to 25 mg. When I reach 25 mg I will have to make an assessment if I should go to zero. Most people can’t do it.

25mg is a really low dose. Ask your psychiatrist to increase the dose. I'm on 150mg as adjuvant treatment for Depression.

My doctor told me to break it in half and also recently told me to also use prometaziniumchlorid but I am afraid. Could you perhaps explain these two medications working together? i cant find anything online and I am afraid to use both. quentiapine already makes me feel weird.

I've been taking this for almost 2 wks and I was told to take it with it without food. I always come home late so I eat my dinner late.
    but as I have observed,
it is best to take the med before I eat like for 30 MINS or so then I can really feel sleepy even I'm still eating.
and if I take it after meals, it the meds would take like 2-3 hours before kicking in and I will feel sleepy the next whole day.
and also, I learned from your vid I should not eat grape fruit or citrus? I just ate two oranges today. lol

I will never use quetiapine again. The doctor gave me 25mg for sleep and it was terrible, I had nightmares, sedation, dizziness, a limp body, even an anxiety attack when I woke up, I couldn't get out of bed I was so lazy
NOTE: I don't want to use it as a stabilizer, I started using lamotrigine, quetiapine would be just for sleep because I'm in hypomania, I'd rather not sleep until the consultation than take it again

      ckeck wikipedia for sleep meds.
quetiapine is very addictive, so if doesnt help you stop immediately, it can cause strokes, heart attacks, blood clots anf many more.
better request a z-drug like zopicline or a classic safe benzo.

I’ve recently been partying a lot more, coming into the right age for alcohol ect ect, been on this medication since I was 15 ish and now turning 19 in the summer. Recently I’ve been getting heart palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness mostly in my eyes. Along with change in mood. I’ve always carried around more weight and recently been especially struggling with it. Besides the weight could alchol consumption be bring on extra side effects??? If anyone could help me out 🙏🙏
