This demonstrates the uniqueness of Andy Summers and the songwriting of the Police. Great job breaking it all down.
Totally agree! Glad you liked it!
Top ten song of all time and well explained!
I gotta tell you - you're probably the BEST at teaching Police songs I've seen. Thanks for all of these lessons!
Man what a beautiful arrangement..fantastic. thank u. Love that little piano lick just want to play it over and over.
Cracking brilliant. I will always come back to this for this and Marty Music for a "Daughters" refresh. Thanks, Jon.
Thank you so much for this outstanding instruction on this song. Much appreciated.
Perfect ! Thank you Jon
that B/G add9 Oasis chord is Fantastic!!
Awesome song, & great arrangement of this Police classic
Superb lesson. Nailed it!
Love melding guitar and keys parts! 👍👍
Good lesson. You did a nice combination of the guitar and piano parts on the original recording. It is a bit mind blowing to realize this song is 42 years old as of this writing.
Awesome. Will tackle this one tomorrow
Outstanding! Thanks Jon.
Fantastic job, well done!!
Excellent Police lessons... thank you.
Great job Jon such a cool song The Police were so good thank u for this!!
You're welcome! Glad to help!
Such a cool tune and the picking is quite a great training exercise. Happy to hear it's a series. Police are such a great band that are often overlooked. Cheers!
100 percent! Here is the full playlist: th-cam.com/play/PL9t5ENlVNlEeOHCjhMHFEeOfW_MxPwO0A.html
Listen to Andy play it live back in the early 80’s and then listen to him play it on the 2007/2008 reunion tour. I like the way he plays it, especially on the reunion tour.
Agreed, in the reunion he was doing these beautiful little fingerpicked arpeggios that nailed the vibe of both the original keyboards and added the Andy touch it needed (imo). One of the best guitarists ever to do it
Excellent man
Thank you
Go on with these amazing lessons on the police!

That chord sequence is the same that Andy used on live versions of the 80's!
Check out on 2007 version!
Another great tutorial by an amazing teacher. Keep up the excellent work. All the best!
Excelent !! Thanks You!!
Muchas gracias.. muy bueno.. voy a intentar hacerlo.. gracias..☺️🌻♥️🎸... genial..!!!
I love this song because it strikes a nerve with the insecurity associated with the risk of spilling your guts to a woman with whom your mesmerized. Its a rollercoaster ride of emotion that over takes your being and whisks you away. The symbolism is that of a passage from a classic piece of literature and the protagonist must come to grips with the fear of being alone in his journey.
u are a star!
Thanks a lot!
Perfect 👏
Thanks man :D
Wonderfulll!!!!
So good, will take me a while though

Can you please teach who are you by The Who
I'll add it to my list Billy! Not many other people have covered that one on TH-cam. Thanks for watching.
Great content...but please put even just the basic chord shapes for reference.
Thanks 😊 please
Is the song in 440 tuning? It sound’s slightly out. Did the police do that? I know Van Halen early albums were a half step down but not to 440 tuning. I think Highway To Hell is also not in 440.
Anyways, great vid.
I don't understand the verse and chorus pattern. I trying doing it by ear but I think I missing something. I think it's D down G down A up D down down up G down A up D down G down A up D down in verse section. Am I right?
my number one police song is hole in my live
3:36
i think that is the piano that plays that part , not guitar
