I have just watched a young Derren and John Hurt in a Gideon’s Way episode from the 1960s with Derren playing an escaped psychopathic convict, and then I saw this. What a delight to hear these stories.
He was just brilliant as the sinister Gestapo officer von Hapen, what a career and so many stories to tell, get yourself over to Belfast Derren! Saw Roger Moore in an Evening With 6 years ago and he was brilliant, why not An Evening with Derren Nesbitt, if you read this Derren, it'll be a winner!
Just discovered him as the nasty warlord in the first season of Dr Who... he was amazing in that, had a Brando-like intensity... looking forward to seeing more of his work, God Bless this man!
Love you Derren, I'm Jewish too. Such a wonderful, lovely man you truly are. To play the part of an SS officer must have taken GREAT courage (money no objective). You did it for THEATRE. שלום Wayne Brill emailing (Miss Nina Evans, shortly to become Mrs Brill by my side). LOVE YOU
Frank Sinatra admired him as a co-star in The Naked Runner. Frank saw him on a London street some time later and sent him on an all expenses paid holiday.
I hated this man when I watched his parts and films- but i then came to realise as I got a older, tha a great actor will make you laugh, cry, and hate him- but I have to be honest, he puts his acting persona over with great ease, well done Mr Nesbitt.
Underated actor
Some of the his roles have been totally amazing
I'm a life long fan of Derren Nesbitt, so finding this interview is a real treat. Thank you for sharing it.
A wonderful man. Where Eagles Dare an absolute classic.
Absolutely
Great actor, I particularly liked him in Special Branch, really good interaction with the equally talented Fulton Mackay.

Wow, an icon of British cinema!
A superb actor.
Excellent interview, one of our most versatile actors

As would Bela Lugosi if he’d been born 20 years later.

if derren was a bit younger in the 1980s he would have been great in a indiana jones film .

best to derren.
my favourite actor

Lovely guy, great raconteur but humble, and when you think of the T. V. and films from 50s B & W villains, to the iconic Von Papen.

Some good, albeit brief, Patrick McGoohan info found towards the end of the interview. Dish Derren dish!!!
No. 2 !
Terrific actor. He deserved a better interviewer. 🫤
Still has those large red fleshy lips! Classic, Derren, long may he be around.
surely derren means patrick mower and not patrick maghoohan in the special branch series
Derren appeared in The Prisoner with Patrick Maghoohan
