I like how quickly FocusSight's [joking] dig at Shadow's story aged as quickly as the next AGDQ, where Gordon ran that story and beat the awful Iblis fight by deleting the boss data from the game.
Absolutely impressive run. I know from both first and second hand experience how temperamental this run is, so seeing you nail so many of these hard strats at a GDQ setting is mindblowing, you can be super proud of that run. Btw, I saw many people in the live twitch chat doubt that these tricks are legitimately frame perfect - they are. The reason he's able to do them so often is cause you do these inputs hundreds of times throughout the run, so if you run this category you get a good feeling for the timing and can get them reasonably often

Well, a 100% run of this game would definitely be that... According to Charrii's sin vid, there's 465 loading screens from start to finish if you don't fail and on PS3, that's 2 hours of load time basically. Going by what they said, the 360 version would cut off between 1/3rd to 2/3rds of that load time, which is STILL at least 40-80 mins of wait times....
I love this game for its overall atmosphere, character designs, and soundtrack. I genuinely do, and makes me genuinely disappointed it wasn’t able to be developed properly. I’d bet my life savings if executed as intended this would be heralded as best Sonic game of all time and more than worthy of the reboot title of just Sonic the Hedgehog
The funniest thing to me about trying to avoid S ranks to save time is that since they don't expect you to complete Silver's missions anywhere near close to these times, the time bonus alone is usually enough to get S rank.

Honestly it’s the wild west of S06 speedrunning, given that no one wants to do it without optimizing the individual all medals categories first... categories which aren’t even official on SRC yet! But a time will come when we can finally get 8 hours, someone’s just gotta be brave enough to tackle it.
Love how everytime I see the player having issues to do a glitch , i'm like "oof , might not achieve the estimated time" then see almost 10 minutes of difference , you really do a great job :D
I unironically don't hate this game. It's not good on a technical level by any means but I always found most of the levels reasonably fun and certain glitches can make the game more enjoyable through their sheer absurdity. The huge amount of possible exploits also makes it a very fun speedrun to watch.
I'm seriously surprised the stability is as high as it is for this game considering all the bugs, glitches, problems, and overall rushed nature of the game.
I've watched through at least 3 full playthroughs of '06 and there are still things in this game that were actually intended that I had never seen until this speedrun: - S ranks in Silver's campaign and his "Perfect!" line - '06 running at 60 fps at certain parts???

I have kind of a low opinion of Super Mario 64, and when I was criticising some aspects that I felt had aged terribly (the camera in particular) one of the responses I got was... how impressive its speedruns are. Yeah. This speedrun officially makes Sonic 06 a really good game then :P

Fix the general coding and drop SA2 Sonic/Shadow in these levels. Fan base would’ve been been praising this as SA3.

Well the difference is that even Sonic fans think 06 is bad for ruining their favorite franchise forever. 64 is too popular.
