Thanks for the new episode. I am glad you are ok with length for the Tasman trip. I would lift the van front a bit. More ball weight would be good for safety and may smooth the rams ride out a bit. For anyone that feels about arguing with me, on a dual axel van lowering the hitch reduces ball weight, it is the opposite of a single axel van. It does this because the vans front springs will take up the weight when the ball is lower. Wishing you all the best with your touring.
Yes that is true with tandem Axel's I did say in the video I will need to change that towball height and I'm look at them right now. Thanks for watching and supporting our channel. 😀 Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Dave once we put our canopy on the radar detection in the tail lights were taken out and we had no anti sway etc working. Just a hit if you aren’t aware, try and keep the original tail lights in your canopy .
Ok thanks for the hint Um too late the lights are not the original lights. But we have anti sway on the van anyway. The canopy has just come back from the powder coaters so next week it is going in to be fitted to the car. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
We follow you guys we like the videos. We are abit head of you currently in middle lagoon. Just a note regarding water filter from Bunnings. The hose connector will brake on the filter. Get yourself a copper . You will thank me later. Have fun travelling we may see you on the road.
Thanks for watching and supporting our channel. 😀 On regards to the filter I will definitely check that out. That trip was just a quick run down to see how it performed and if we need any changes. We are back in Perth today Still a few more weeks before we get the canopy and then the fit out then off to Karratha for a couple of months work. But hey if you do see us out and about stop us and say hi 👋 Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Braggin again about your length. 😂😂So good you can fit ! And Mum i dont smell , dont tell people i smell ! 😢 the look in her eyes 😂. Great spot, love the scones !
@@daveniksadventures2255 I had one many many years ago, ex missus took him to the pound and I've not been able to let myself have another. Sometimes I think I'd like to get one, but just tell myself it's wishful thinking. Besides, you can't buy anything but those bloody blue ones, and I won't spend $2500 on a bloody dog, ripoff thieves.
I think we paid $1500 6 years ago We wanted to breed her but travelling and her on heat was a night mare. So in the end we got her fixed. She has the best temperament but those are the breaks. Indee is a blue English staff too. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Love ya guys and of course can’t forget Indee 😊 gr8 work with these videos keep them rollin we need more per week hahaha enjoy guys absolutely love the truck it just needs a small South Sydney Rabbitohs sticker on her 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
One video a week keeps us busy trying to keep them interesting. Nik does quite a few shorts through the weeks to fill the gaps in between videos. Not sure about the rabbitos sticker but nice try 👍😀 Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
I just made it from a few different shop. A bit from here and a bit from there. I just mix it up every week to suit the decor I have out. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Great to see you both out on the road with the van on the back of the RAM 😊 Happy Days 🌞 Hubby just asked if you are using the exhaust brakes while towing? We are still a couple of months away before we can get out on the road and can't wait, it was great to hear how the RAM performed while towing.
No not yet but on big hills like Blue Mountains Adelaide Even here in WA coming down Greenmount hill I will be using it. The electric brakes work well on these too. Thanks for watching Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Spend $20 and buy DO NOT OVERTAKE A TURNING VEHICLE sticker, this exempts you going over solid lines or crossing over a roundabout or turning wide when turning left. Without this sticker and , you do as mentioned the fines are significant. Enjoy your new rig. We too are 15m in total length and just arrived in Tasmania had no issues fitting on SOT.
Wow you guys are enjoying the Ram and we love seeing that. Just a quick question did your van just plug in and all worked? I fitted a filtered single point filling system for my van, yes takes about 15 min longer to fill but its filtered and no air locks. Very happy with the rig working out for Tazzie Cheers Johnny&Rene
Yep just plugged in the van and everything worked. The factory brakes are so good too I'm running them on 4.5 - 5 Everything comes up on the dash as you plug telling you what's happening and gives you choices to pick. Very happy with how it works. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Love the channel New subscriber Love the Ram Perfect vehicle for safely towing big vans etc I hope your dog is in a harness, so she doesn’t become a flying projectile if u have to brake hard etc And R u installing a CB Radio set up ? Or, at least a portable hand held unit ? Very handy to communicate with trucks and other road users, etc Road conditions / safe to pass etc Can’t wait to c the canopy Happy travels. 👍
Yes we have hand held 2way for now , not sure if we will hard wire one in yet. As far as Indee goes she doesn't travel well in a restricted harness set up so we have got her the dog hammock. It keeps her in the back seat so she isn't distracting us while driving. she can't fall off the chair and can still move around. She used to just sit on the back seat but would fall off if you had to brake suddenly so tried a harness but that didn't work for her either but this hammock works the best for her. She loves it. most of the time she sleeps unless we are pulling into a camp then she is up and ready to get out. And thanks for subscribing too it means a lot. 😃 Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Hi guys, great videos, I’ve got a RAM similar to yours and I was wanting to know where you got the dogs cover from to fit the back seat of the vehicle, it looks like that thing fits perfectly, any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
It is from Navigator it is a dog hammock for the back seat. You can get them from any ARB store they stock them. It's great gives her room to move and stops her from moving into the front of the car (not that she ever did she is really good traveller) She can't fall forward or even onto the floor it's brilliant. Keeps her safe. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Certainly has got a few more features than our 2024 2500 . have you thought of getting a Shocker hitch for the RAM ? makes a big difference in towing :-) that 3500 will tow a lot. great videos fully enjoyable . Did you buy it from RAM australia ? estimation for fuel consumption is pretty good we get about 18 when we tow our van about 4 ton
Yes from Ram Australia The feel of the van on the back is good no jarring back through the ram. Just need to get an adjustable tow hitches I reckon. And it was so windy on the way back I think we will be around the same fuel consumption as that without the massive head winds we had. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
I went to the servo and filled up straight after the trip we had done 515km and it took exactly 100trs so that worked out to be 19.42 ltrs to 100km. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Sometimes as you roll down a hill it does creep away a little and not used to the feel yet it seems to be going slow but when you look down at the speedo it's sneaked up a bit on ya. But as a rule I'm not one to speed I hate the fines ! Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Nik, what temp did you put your Ziggy Nomad on to cook the scones/damper. Apparently they are not true with the heat readings…..either too hot or too cool, ot sure which way they go. So, query one…..temp. Of Ziggy query two…..how much flour did you end up putting in Enjoying your show, keep up the laughs Liz Walls
Ok the ziggy we are still working out. It does get hotter than the Webber but the wind was blowing the wrong way so it was sitting on about 180. We ended up using about 4 cups of flour. We wouldn't recommend that recipe though. But we will try a different approach next time scones shouldn't be that hard ! There was way too much moisture. Thanks for watching and supporting our channel. 😀 Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
@@daveniksadventures2255 Have you made the Lemonade scones yet? Also, you said you wouldn’t recommend the damper made on the pumpkin soup but did it still taste nice?
@user-ph2ys8el3g yes the lemonade turned out really well that's why I thought I'd try to do the pumpkin one 😅🙃 If I was to make the pumpkin one I think the flavour would be better with roasted real pumpkin in it.
