I think it's great that they not updating it. This way mods don't get outdated and we don't have to wait for modders to update their mods after every small hotfix.
Unfortunately, the player base had grown so small by the time that 2.0 had released that they couldn't financially justify further development. 2.0 was essentially a parting gift.
This game got done dirty. The launch was abysmal but once they got around to 2.0 it become one of my favorite strategy games, kinda a hybrid between CK and EU. Part of me still hopes they're gonna pick up development once again...just wishful thiking i guess but at least the modding community is awesome
what I:R needed was some kind of cultural decline/lategame empire decaying mechanic that happened organically rather than by arbritration. I:R is very much a civilization builder, and expansion to be an Empire survival game would make it perfect.
Late Game disasters to shake up end game and revamped Trade System (current one is alright but kind of bland and you basically just stack modifiers, food, and then turn on automation) and game would be perfect. Invictus already figured out how to get AI tribes to migrate more consistently but some DLC to make that system more intuitive would be nice too but not necessary as a last thing.

A mod that i was hopin to see was Terra Indomita. Its an expansion of the Invictus mod that adds Japan, Southeast Asia, and China! Its still relatively new in its production but is showing lots of promise! Also, its just awesome to storm into battle with 20 thousand Samurai!
After your last video on this game, I finally decided to give Invictus a shot. I was one of the silly geese that pre-ordered the game and I did really like playing it on launch day, at least for a good 4-5 hours before it started feeling a bit weak. After 2.0, it really became a game worthy of its place in the PDX line-up, it's just too bad it was smothered in its childhood. Thankfully, it seems Invictus has entirely revitalised it and now it's just through and through a fantastic title that more people need to try out. Too bad I can't tell anyone to buy it because it's a 40 euro corpse, they should really lower the price. Anyway, thanks for recommending more mods, I'll absolutely check them out.
I went back to Imperator after a 3 years hiatus when someone mentionned Invictus mod in your previous Imperator video. All my free time has been dedicated to this game since then. I'm mainly using Invictus and Terra Indomita mods. They're amazing.
They really should, the whole game is uplifted by Invictus. The consistency of updates and content added with each update is impressive, even for modders. They don’t mess around.
Two more mods to try out, Full Mechanical Overhaul which is an addon for Invictus which also adds a ton. Terra Indomita: A mod that adds East Asia. Bringing the Map to China, Korea, Indochina, and Japan. It already has Invictus built into the mod. Also the interesting thing about the Imperator community is how interconnected it is. Pretty much every modder is at least vaguely associated with the Invictus team and most Total Conversion have Invictus built in.
Gladio et Sale is also very good, it’s made by the same people who did “Veritas et Fortitudo” for EU4. It was Invictus before Invictus, and it very much deserves a mention!

I am really appreciating how relatively in depth the and sensible the base eco/pop/culture systems of imperator is compared to ck3 for the premodern eras.
Didn’t realize the Bronze Age mod was back from the dead, that’s great news. Invictus is such a great mod, the base game seems incomplete without it. I wonder why this game never got the player base Paradox’s other games get, even after 2.0… it might be my favorite Paradox game. My recent Rhodes playthrough was a blast.
no review for the the migration dev diary in Vic 3 ? I was really working forward to it because you both mod the game and played it extensively so you know where their designing ideas hit the mark and where they don't
Glad to see this great game getting some attention. It's so sad that Paradox managed to finally fix the game and then promptly abandon it to its fate. Thankfully modders have stepped up but it's still a great shame.
I consider the Invictus mod to be an unofficial DLC, with all the content they have added, the mission trees, expanded map. Play with Invictus and the Invictus submod and you will have a great time playing!

The worst thing about Invictus is that it doesn't add a way for Buddhism to expand as it did historically (which vanilla also lacks.) I want to be a Buddhist!
even with mods the game is still quite janky, alot of systems that are undercooked and unfinished, as well as obfuscated information that is hard to find without going through several menu's. the game is amazing but its not very intuitive. not something mods can fix.

True. However, the Imperator Rome trading system apparently influenced Victoria 3. Trade in both games is so bad and time consuming...

You should try out the timeline extender for invictus in conjuction with the crisis of the 3rd century mods!

Terra Indomita is a fork of Invictus, so it already has most of the content of Invictus.
Tbh it makes the map too big, adds a whole lot of lag to the game

The best of imperator invictus is the changing of the velite as a symbol of roman levy to a proper italian spearmen, like any other civ.

My only complaint about Imperator is that the Colossus of Rhodes is a starting monument in the game despite being built 24 years after the game start.
