I have a ton of my bibles.. I like to choose my “go to bible” for the year, and use it for prayers and studying and I make “memory notes” for blessings and answered prayers or things I’m struggling with. I have done this for about 4 years now and it’s amazing to see how I started off and where I’m at now with my faith.

I agree with all you said about Bible versions. An unused Bible is a waste, such as KJV if the reading is too hard for some folks, so they just let it gather dust on the shelf. I see a lot of Christians that go to NIV, ESV, etc. because they are easier to understand. After a few years they generally begin to trust the KJV and NKJV more and use them. I prefer any that are Majority Text, yet I do have some of those you were showing here. Yes, the notes are great! They get me to thinking! Pink is also my favorite! Next is purple. lol. I have a copy of the Adventure Bible too, but never thought of using it for myself. I was going to give it as a gift. Well, if my brain doesn't work one day as swiftly as before, maybe I will try it. lol. A new version I really am enthusiastically reading is the NRSVue which hasn't been out long. Love, in Christ. . . 😇
You know what’s funny? I have all these versions and my favorite go to is my NKJV! I love it to pieces. I do enjoy other versions though as they do help breakdown scripture and brings different insights I maybe never considered before! I appreciate you stopping by and coming to chat. thank you for covering the adventure bible. i've been away from the word for awhile now. i've tried picking up various bibles but it's been difficult. a few weeks ago, i had a dream about the adventure bible. it's not one that had even been on my radar other than hearing about it here and there. i ordered it and am so excited for it to come in soon! i think it can be useful for what it is and help those (like me) who have been away for awhile to get back into it.

I love that you have a Children’s bible. I got my son a KJV kids Bible and it has such good notes I made copies of all the beginning pages of the books breakdown and tipped them in my KNJV interleaved. I love telling new believers to get a children’s Bible because it’s a great sideline to have. When my kids and I do our catechisms and study we all use a different version so we can read more than one version of the verses. It’s been so great! I also love the NCV they don’t make it anymore I think the NIRV replaced it maybe? But it was my first adult bible and I had it for a good ten years before I moved to an ESV and NKJV. I really want to get an NLT illustrated study Bible and NASB to add to my collection!

I just bought the the ESV Study Bible in the large print. I couldn't believe how big it was. But im so happy I won't have to strain my eyes reading the personal size one I had. With the tiny font.
My fav study bible is the Holman KJV Study Bible. Not sure if the notes are the same as the CSB one - do know they did a NKJV with similar notes. The Thompson Chain Reference Bible is another good one (which I have in KJV and RV60). I think I've seen the Life Application bible in KJV, NIV, NLT, NASB (English) and RV60 and NTV (Spanish). I have an earlier edition in KJV. I also have both KJV and NKJV Spirit-Filled Life Bibles. That's from the guy who wrote "Majesty, worship his majesty". The problems with the Message and Passion versions are a whole 'nother order of magnitude. The Message plays fast and loose with the Word of God, but the Passion version was written by a guy who says he got new revelation from an angel (danger, danger), claims that God has a 22nd chapter of John in heaven, and denies the Second Coming of Christ. Mike Winger's got a whole bunch of videos on the topic.

We also recently moved into low income housing to make ends meet as I am a single, disabled mom with one still home. We struggle but make ends meet so it may take a few months to save up even longer as our transmission in our very used minivan is going out.

Apparently if you get a NLT bible that comes with the filament app the notes you get in the app are the same as the NLT illustrated study bible. I have a filament bible and the notes on there are great! The videos and pictures are awesome! I cannot confirm if the notes are the same as the NLT study Bible as I don’t have one but maybe someone who has both can confirm if that is true

Since you are a fan of study Bibles with tons of notes, you should try to hunt down a copy of “The Learning Bible”, published in both NIV and CEV translations. They have all three cover types like cow, hide, hard, cover, and vinyl avoid the vinyl if possible I’ve had a couple of them and they fell apart on me within a week so I went to the economy, hardcover, and so far that’s holding up really nice

Since it's been 6 months, did you ever get the NLT study Bible? Is there a difference between this and the illustrated one? If the notes are the same I might get the NLT study Bible. You do know that the new international bible is missing scriptures. Compare it to the king James and the NKJV. You will see there are scriptures missing

If you receive a bible and find it's not to your taste why don't you simply return it? I never understand when people hang onto bibles that aren't to their taste - 'cos they ain't cheap!!
You do have to be careful with translations. Some remove entire verses like the NIV that can literally change the meaning. If you’re new in Christ it could do more damage than good. There needs to be a standard that you measure the Bible by and I choose the KJV. And with this AI stuff coming out, word is they’re going to start changing the Bible. Don’t subsitute the historical bible for simplicity just don’t. If we can spend hours shopping for shoes and watching hours of TV surly we can study through some Thees and Thous. I’m not saying the KJV is the only translation I’m saying be very careful. We shouldn’t get too casual with Gods word it’s to be reverence and understood. There are some Bibles translations that should be bashed.

Is it Smyth sewn ? If not it does not last long. If the binding is glued it will be a shorter life span. Does it come in leather?

@@InwardBeautyMinistries you’re very welcome just to be forewarning they’re both KJV only pastors and they are very forefront and a little rough but they are both great Bible teachers. You just Gotta have a good spiritual knife and fork to dig into the meat.
They have all three cover types like cow, hide, hard, cover, and vinyl avoid the vinyl if possible I’ve had a couple of them and they fell apart on me within a week so I went to the economy, hardcover, and so far that’s holding up really nice

Since it's been 6 months, did you ever get the NLT study Bible? Is there a difference between this and the illustrated one? If the notes are the same I might get the NLT study Bible.
I have to rely on Kindle for all my Bibles due to visual impairment. The publishers don't seem to make large print Bibles without the red lettering.

If you receive a bible and find it's not to your taste why don't you simply return it? I never understand when people hang onto bibles that aren't to their taste - 'cos they ain't cheap!!

You do have to be careful with translations. Some remove entire verses like the NIV that can literally change the meaning. If you’re new in Christ it could do more damage than good. There needs to be a standard that you measure the Bible by and I choose the KJV. And with this AI stuff coming out, word is they’re going to start changing the Bible. Don’t subsitute the historical bible for simplicity just don’t. If we can spend hours shopping for shoes and watching hours of TV surly we can study through some Thees and Thous. I’m not saying the KJV is the only translation I’m saying be very careful. We shouldn’t get too casual with Gods word it’s to be reverence and understood. There are some Bibles translations that should be bashed.
