Me Great Grandfather and Grandmother migrated from Scotland to Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦 And that’s were I live his Name was Teddy Robertson he fought in WW1 ended up getting hit with a shrapnel wound in his leg as well as getting hit with chlorine gas. Spent awhile in England at an army hospital I’m 62 he died when I was 10 great memories of both of them. Both of them loved the pipes as do I One day will cross the pond and see where it all began

Thank you for this beautiful piece of music. I live in Falkirk Central Scotland, but my Dad and his family are from the Mull of Kintyre. Everytime i hear this, it always makes me teary eyed and proud. I remember the sound of the ocean, the smell of the fresh air, the rolling hills that extend into mountains, the complete sense of freedom in a land untainted by the destructive traits of humanity. Part of me longs for the Muill of Kintyre and has done my entire life.

I am half Highland Scottish - Clans Gibson-Buchanan traced back 1000 years. I am proud of my Scottish heritage above all other. My ancestors were driven from the Highlands when Brit King James re-wrote the Bible. "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live". Hence, it was open season on all Clan women who were herbalists. Lord William Gibson and his family sailed to Jamestown Colony in 1625, only to find the Narraganset Indians at war with the imperialistic British. We lost a few of the clan, but finally settled in Campbell County, Tennessee. Americans have a strong connection to their Scottish roots!

I bought one of the first EPs of The Mull of Kintyre while working at General Motors in Motherwell near Airdrie Scotland circa 1978. This one made me cry even after some 43 years. The German Highlander's beard is awesome.
Yes it's not the easiest instrument to love. Hear one on its own and it's hard on the ears. Hear lots of them together along with drums and they can sound amazing, especially if the song is suited to pipes and drums like this is and some military music also is.
