    The carnivore diet is great, but wasn't a magic bullet for my sleep apnea. However, it did marginally improve my inflammation and nasal congestion. I've been experimenting with an "animal-based" diet that has allowed me to maintain those carnivore benefits, while introducing carbohydrates. Still training heavy and going to get aesthetic AF

    Hey Jimmy, I came across your channel again in my feed, (I watched your channel previously and always enjoyed your videos). I note you are struggling with Sleep apnea, sorry to hear!
    I too suffered from Sleep apnea for 5yrs plus and I know exactly how infuriating and destructive this disorder can be. In my case, I would during the night suddenly wake and realise I was gasping for air, it was like I would stop breathing while sleeping. Apart from the stress of waking up multiple times a night and the sleep deprivation it causes, I also ended up with heightened anxiety which lead to other problems. I think I have been through the grinder with this issue however I am happy to say through obsessive research and loads of trial and error I managed to fix the problem 100%.
    Some of the things I did to fix my problem, maybe something here will help you!
    Step 1) Check your gut! - The road to fixing the problem starts with nutrition and your stomach. You need to ask yourself, after a meal or maybe some type of meal, do I belch, feel uncomfortable, or does my stomach feel bloated. If not move on! If yes, you have an alkaline gut, which will affect which nutrients you can absorb, ie certain amino acids, vitamins and minerals, you need good nutrition to fix Sleep apnea.
    How I fixed my gut... I stopped taking antacids of any kind, they lowered my stomach acid and made my gut more alkaline. I eliminated all forms of processed sugar from my diet, as it causes an overgrowth of the bad bacteria in your gut and interferes with your ability to produce stomach acid strong enough to break down proteins and absorb nutrients. I used HCL Betaine 2-3 tablets after a meal to get my stomach acid working again.
    Step 2) Ask yourself, do I suffer from blocked sinuses making it hard to breathe at night? If no, move on, if yes, you may need to point a long finger at dairy products. In my case, it was milk, yoghurt and ice cream. This for me was a massive step forward in relief of my symptoms, if your sinuses are filled with mucous, especially at night when you would like to breathe then try getting rid of dairy.
    Step 3) Ask yourself, do I feel short of breath at times? To describe it, it's like your breathing, but it just does not feel like you are getting enough oxygen. A good example is, you tend to sigh a lot or feel the need to take deep breaths before you speak. If this is not you move on! if Yes, you might have an allergy! In my case, this one took me a long time to figure out. I went to the doctor so many times about this one it was crazy. I swear I could literally see the doctor sigh with an "Oh my gosh not him again" when she would see me in the waiting room. The Joke is she never figured out my problem, I did!!! In my case, I am allergic to peanuts and peanut butter. Now, this was my nemesis because I would put peanut butter on everything including eggs and stirfry. Also, be careful of supplements like protein powders and such. Stop everything that may be the cause of an allergy and test for improvements.
    Step 4) Question if you are getting enough Sodium 1500 - 2300mg, Potassium 4700mg, Magnesium 500mg, Calcium 1000mg, Zinc and Copper, Omega3 and B Vitamins, especially Vitamin B1? Your body needs a lot of these nutrients daily and especially if you are working out. These nutrients support muscle contraction and release, the nervous system, the heart and loads more. In my case, it was a low Potassium, Magnesium and B Vitamins. If your potassium is out of balance then so are calcium and sodium, they work in counterbalance. How do you know? Do you have an eye, nerve or muscle twitch? When you go to bed you may hear your heartbeat on your pillow. If you get up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom, your heart sounds like thunder, in your ears. When you get up in the morning you may feel a need to stretch like a cat and contract muscles like legs or arms which results in what almost feels like an over contraction or mini shaking of the muscle you contract. If so check your minerals and B vitamins, they control your muscles, nerves, heart and breathing.
    Step 5) Check your Vitamin D3 and K2 levels! Vitamin D3 helps your body absorb Calcium, helps blood pressure, helps sleep, mood, and a whole ton of other things. K2 balances D3, K2 moves Calcium from the blood into the bone etc. How do you know if you are deficient? An easy method is if you suffer from lower back aches while standing around, joint aches, aching muscles etc. D3 also helped me get those deep rem sleep cycles and added to my nutrition.
    Based on my own experience, I also tried the carnivore diet. You may end up with issues around constipation and fatigue, and I cannot see how you are getting enough minerals like potassium even by eating organ meats, second, most of all honey is fake, mixed with brown rice syrup, or high fructose corn syrup, third many farmers use antibiotics on the hives which can really affect your gut, fourth honey can often be loaded with heavy metals because of where it gets stored. If you really need honey, then you should source real manuka, honey.
    So in summary, sleep apnea in my case was a micronutrient and vitamin deficiency exacerbated by low stomach acid and an allergy to peanuts and a sinus mucous response to dairy. It should also be noted peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes which include beans, lentils, and peas.
    PS, not all food is grown equal. Getting sufficient amounts of minerals, especially potassium and magnesium is not easy, soils are depleted and vegetables are not what they used to be. To ensure I get my daily dose, I blend huge fistfuls of baby spinach and whole cucumbers together with mixed berries, ginger and lemon for taste. For sodium I only use Himalayan salt, most other salt contains anti-caking agents and is no good. Green smoothies work like a champ.
    All the best!

    It takes longer than 4-7 days to adapt to a carnivore diet
    It can take months
    After that your energy and fatigue you felt will be gone 100%
    As well as pronounced benefits you would have seen after only 1 week

      Of course it would take longer for my body to fully adjust, but that isn’t the point. Approximately once every ~2 weeks, I have a great night of sleep - the rest of the nights are generally poor. I’m trying to figure what drives that one good night - i.e. is it what I’m eating, is it training or stretching, supplementation, etc. If every night was horrible, then, yes, I would need much more time adapt/get the full benefits, but I’m just trying to figure why I can sleep well one night and then horrible the next

    I understand you very well.. My nose is constantly congested all day all night for years.. it is very difficult to live normally and feel good. It affects my personal life a lot. Even if I breathe through my mouth, I feel like I'm short of air and feel anxious. I keep planning to try to start eating only healthy food in long term but after a week or two I go back to not eating properly again.. It's my own fault because I know that diet would help me and the results will be seen in the long term :) I searched for information every day for a year and I realized that too much histamine in healthy food could also be a case. Mold, dust in the house too. And even in energy level if you are blocking yourself from your dreams that you would like to fulfill but you still don't do it because of fears and doubts and then a problem with a block appears in the physical body, such as a blocked nose, a reflection of the fact that we block ourselves in many places in life. if you can, make another video someday how you manage to solve these problems with food, etc. Good luck bro !💪👍

      Carnivore noticeably improved my nasal congestion, and this “animal-based” approach has had a similar effect. Improper development of our skulls is likely at least somewhat responsible for our problems (I know it is for me), and a palatal expander such as the DNA appliance, has helped me quite a bit. Going to keep working on this until I’m at 100%

    Same for me man, carnivore diet solved my nasal congestion, my sleep was amazing, and i felt so energized all the time, i got super lean too.
    On other hand, there was other issues as you ve said, you really do get tired of just eating meat. Other thing is yeah you get shredded but you also loose a lot of weight, and if you want to maintain certain physique thats not ideal. Also my my hair started to get tin as well, and last thing is that i was having huge cravings for fat, one day i chugged olive oil, like my body just needed.
    I was 3 months on carnivore diet. Now I'm mostly carnivore but I introduced lots of plants that seem to fully agrees with me, this is: jicama, arugula, savoy cabbage, broccoli sprouts, dill and granny smith apples (without skin, if I have it with skin it introduce inflammation). Also I eat more like nose to tail now and introduced lots of connective part of animal tissues and fat source mainly bone marrow and that seem to be working great for me.
    Another thing that agrees with me are just regular potatoes, but I'm not eating them because everyone is saying it is bad for you, but besides lectins I cant find much evidence why potatoes will be bad for you. I'm really curios about what is your take on potatoes.

By the way do you think the muscle mass is causing sleep apnea?

    • @TheAestheticProfessional
      @TheAestheticProfessional  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely contributing to some extent, but doesn't appear to be the primary driver. I've taken weeks completely off training and I could sleep just as poorly during the third week as I did in the first week - I would have expected my sleep to improve as I atrophied, but that wasn't the case

    • @InsideTheJoshMind

      If you have chronic inflammation you can be skinny but your airways closed.
      Me personally I’m pretty built. Look to be in great shape. But cannot breathe through my nose. Always stuffed up. Also grains sometimes cause me to feel like I’m suffocating. And I do have sleep apnea. I am starting carnivore (3 days ago) and am planning on doing it 6-12 months to see what happens. My circulation and sex drive also sucks. Hoping that will aid there as well.

    No diet change will be efficient for a few weeks or months because your body cannot change quick enough.
    Your 4-7 days carnivore was nowhere near enough time for you to get all the benefits. Your gut biome has to change the ratio of enzymes and bacteria to facilitate the higher fat and protein content.
    Yet you still had a number of health benefits and would have had more if you had stuck with it. Your fatigue and feeling of weakness in the gym would have gone away. All of your inflammatory responses would improve (slowly or rapidly) and your body would return to homeostasis.
    As you're in good shape, like Saladino, you can still look good eating fruit and honey, but there is no reason to eat it. Not eating a variety takes discipline to start with and the lack of sweet things can be challenging.
    But they are not required in a proper human diet. And fructose is probably the most dangerous of sugars which we ate, ancestorlly, for a narrow window to fatten us up for winter.
    They are however less inflammatory and I hope that these natural foods are going to work for you. Dont change for a few months and see how you go.
    Then reduce the carbs...not add more.
    Consistency is key

    • @gf08344
      @gf08344 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      100% agree! Even someone who's been doing keto for a long period of time would still have some adaptation to go through when going full carnivore. Just not long enough, especially if this guy was eating carbs before he tried carnivore.

      So True!

    • @mrianboore
      @mrianboore ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely. At 4-7 days, you haven't really even begun yet, much less are you at a point to draw any conclusions. And the bad thing is that people watch videos like this hoping for wisdom and insight...from a guy who hasn't even done the diet!

    • @andyb190
      @andyb190 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And because he looks good people take it as read that he must be "in the know".
      Those of us who are carnivore (2 yrs) know that after the first few weeks of fighting sugar cravings and the adaption process, there are massive gains physiologically.
      But, if after a week you can't get your head around not eating other things, so you give in, you really never find out the true power of a non inflammatory diet.

    • @alexc2572
      @alexc2572 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This guy looks very good so obviously eating fruit wont change at all...hell he could eat big macs for a month and if he keeps working out the same way won't change a thing! I remember when Saladino was just preaching the carnivore diet not too long ago. now that he "re-invented" the wheel with adding fructose from the fruits in his still predominant carnivore diet it doesn't mean that for the average fat-ish North American guy this adding of fruits and honey will work.
