What I don't understand with lel is the lack of blacksmith uprgade but the eco upgrades. As a kid I was always "it is stupid to waste resources on something that is supposed to bring me more resources" but I always wanted to have the best army possible and never did anything without clicking on all the upgrades
always entertaining watching these kinds of matches. makes me wonder if Low Elo players have ever given enough of a fresh perspective on the game to inspire new useful competitive strategies, since they truly think in a unique way
the turtle strat is super annoying to deal with when using brits its so annoying to break down stacked fortified with walls with long bows and trebs stacked behind I usually just resign even though its simple to beat in the long game by resource starving the turtle but 2 hours for a ranked game 1v1 no thank you

Playing AOE4 with two my buddies. One is brand new, the other has been playing since AOE2 came out but is probably 400 elo if you were to rank him. We only play against AI though. I was being optimistic and put all but two of the AI as hard (two of which were teamed) and 2 hardest AI. This is what I usually play against in single player. What I didn't think about was having to help my buddies the whole times so every time I get attacked I don't have any army, either because its half the map away or has died trying to defend them. First my more experienced buddy gets wiped out and runs to our new buddies, then shortly after I get wiped out. At this point I'm talking about restarting with easier AI, when my more experience buddy chimes in and says, "No, we're not quitting this is my favorite part" (referring to running to a corner and rebuilding). I'm just sitting there face palming. Three hours later the game crashed with us not having killed any of the AI. The two hardest AI killed off the rest tho. One of the few times I played against my more experienced buddy, every time I would wipe him out he had another camp somewhere on the map. I had to put outposts up covering the entire map, he wouldn't quit until I eliminated every single one f his units. Looking back it was funny, but very annoying in the moment lol. Reminds me of how I played when I was 8.
So one reason LEL doesn't send as many vils is because it doesn't scale linearly. Sending two villagers doesn't actually mean it builds twice as quick. For lel they might notice this when it comes to greater numbers so it feels like a waste to send more when they don't do as much as the first or second vil

I have played as Burgundians, and I'm honestly not sure what to do. I mean, it seems great that I can get my eco upgrades an age earlier....? But when I'm in Dark Age, I'm not chopping much wood, and I'm not farming. So it seems like a waste of resources.
1. Nope 2. It's not the house wall the problem, more like making a wall in the first place (as if there is any necessity) and making it out of houses. Usually house walls are functional both for protection AND pop space, that specific house was neither.
Just giving honest feedback with this one, the no farms concept was kind of interesting for 2 mins but the overall game was super boring - just a massive bulid up into a stomp. I'd recommend condensing these into a mini LEL form video
