As a pole against the byzantines, you must use Obuchs a lot. Cheap polish knights or winged hussars are no match for byzantine halbs or cataprachts. You really need obuchs to take those fights.
In my experience, pole winged hussar actually do a decent job vs cataphract. They don't trade resource efficiently, of course, but you can spam a lot of hussar to take down the cataphracts
@@skipper472 agreed, the few times his hussars had decent numbers they did good, even against knights. Blue could benefit from watching sotl's video about the marshall square law

I love how this game shows the usefulness of the "all idle army" hotkey. That would put more army into the fight, and unblock the gate 😅

@@aka0989 I am not sure if it’s set up by default, but you can configure it in the hotkey menu.
@@aka0989 When you go into Hotkeys tab in the settings, select Game Commands from the list on the left, and around in the middle of the hotkey list in the centre, where are Select all... hotkeys, one of them is Select all Idle Land/Naval Military Units ^^
I also use Select all Idle Villagers, so I don't have to select them individually, or look where they are, keeping my camera where I want to send them

Red was like my dad when we went to the beach. I always remember as a kid carrying tons of stuff down to the sand and wanting to sit down in the first clear area we found, but my dad would always be like, “No, not here”. I still don't know why; to this day, I don't understand why he made us walk for three or four minutes before we could set stuff down; it just meant a longer walk when we left.

Easy way: sword strikes through the window and knocks over a candle or lamp. Said strike sparks so the lamp or candle is lit. Fire insues and eventually starts a fire on the roof from the inside out.

"byzantines op" at the end did feel kinda sarcastic and petty. Red could've been any other civ but his map vision and control is what won him the game.

Also having more than 4 production buildings and not blocking the path for the reinforcements kinda helped.
And have great army diversity and organizing it well- arbalests in the back, Pikemen attacking cav, Cats attacking cav, and making sure to have multiple attackers on individual blue units instead of letting the army attack by itself
There's no point playing Nomad if you just drop your TC anywhere.. the real joy of nomad is finding a good TC location
That’s true. Dropping it (nearly) immediately just means you’re playing a normal game but behind a little bit. Choosing the spot makes it more strategic

It ain't just the fact red wasn't losing units - red also made ranged units that shredded half blue's troops before they reached melee, while blue only made melee units and trebs. On a situation like that, trickling down your units directly into red's meat grinder of arbalests is the worst you could do. Mass them instead, and target down the arbalests.

This is such a broken reminder of how fucked up modern-day software development is.
The guy implementing it will probably need like 20mins to do it. It is a hashmap over the hash of a selection of unit IDs and then checking the string value behind the hash key.
But he did not sell you the source code but only the executable. And you paid him like 20k for capture age and if you now were to have others compete in re-offering you a capture age alternative, you would start again hiring a chinese (because lets be real) on fivr for 10k to do it but midway he would suffer a burnout and you get fucking nothing. Life is broke af.

Cataphract annihilate Obuch. They are great against everything except cataphract. So make some arbalests too and you have a great comp against byzantines.

I really dislike the new autoscout. This is exactly what the game loses because of autoscout: Nice hiding, tactical movement. Gone. 20 Scouts all over the place? Easy. Skill? No.

I think YT does that itself. I and others have posted comments that should have been harmless but for some reason they get removed. I doubt T90 or any of his mods would take it down. Even if it was something that went against guidelines, YT itself would probably react faster and take it down
