Claudio Arrau, piano -
Finally, someone who doesn't play it too fast!
The notes just hang in the air for eternity
Shit makes me cry everytime. I love anyone who puts their soul into their work it really shows
Claudio's version is untouchable....it is perfect !
Arrau's absolutely masterful here. I've never heard anything like the third movement the way he plays it. It's completely original and exciting in it's own very unique way, but it's entirely appropriate and in accordance with Beethoven. Somehow, he plays the rubatos in a way that doesn't make the peace overly "romantic", but rather makes it an incredibly intense and energetic experience, much like I think Beethoven would want it to be.
Amazing and Underrated in my opinion. Many pianists just rush it as if its a race.
Underated??? Not by me this guy is GOATED
real and beautiful music will never change... not even in different eras, centuries. NEVER in any time
Factual
Come sempre le esecuzioni di Arrau spiccano sulle altre: tempi giusti, lettura perfetta, intelligenza pianistica a livello supremo.
yet another of beethoven's greatest moments
Antonio Vivaldi you are vivalvi, you're his rival. Get out of here!

Maestro, incredible, perfect execution of an absolutely wonderful pice of music
Cryingly beautiful.....❤❤❤❤
Claudio may have played this ten thousand times, but even the ten thousandth time he still lives and expresses each note like its his first. This was his lifes purpose you can see it in his eyes

A sonata of two halves! Arrau rocks.
Extraordinario Claudio Arrau leyenda del piano. Bravo!!!
Reminds me of Rubinstein's version with it's own world. The ladder is the one who Recognized Arrau and brought him to Fame
In my opinion an musician or interpreter must convey feelings, sensibility and passion. A technically perfect interpretation without feelings does not sound great. As a commentator wrote: a little error has not importance.
AGREED, BEETHOVEN SAID HIMSELF: "TO PLAY A WRONG NOTE IS INSIGNIFICANT; TO PLAY WITHOUT PASSION IS INEXCUSABLE.
Nice camera angles.
Don't worry about note blunders, just play with emotion
Like listening to a dream
No. Dream is Traumerei. Batumtz!
+Daniel Maia lol
Admirable, tocado por Dios...
Or Satan.

5:41 He captures Beethoven 0.0
God bless this man
I think this is what Ludwig van Beethoven wanted it to be.
The myth tells how Beethoven had a blind lover.
She asked him what was moonlight like,
so he made this beautiful piece for all humans in the beautiful world!
What myth? The name "Moonlight" was given to the sonata a good while after Beethoven died. Beethoven never called it the Moonlight sonata.

Is that no. 2?
alla marcia!

It's the same as yours.
professor de portuga do YT same? no! :) yes keys are same, but first is colorful, second gray and white.
Nuri Yilmaz That's what I meant. And what's wrong with your face??? lol
🤎
He plays the 1st movement to slowly but the second and 3rd is great
He was old and tired in this video,RIP
Certainly not. It was in 1970 and Arrau was in his sixties and at the high of his power and intensity. He had some twenty years of music making before him .
Dynamically intense but not my favorite because of the tempo and feel.
His interpretation is good , idk how u say the "feel" , tempo for my wish and think is good , and if you dont know who is Claudio Arrau , you should check his life and others , he always playing slow , because he thinks fast is for skip wrongs notes , Grettings my dear friend
PD:Sorry for my bad english , im studying english now
+superdynamite
tempo? arrau is known as the human metronome
Strange how no one plays the actual rhythm as written by Beethoven: a dotted quaver semiquaver in the right hand, and triplets in the left. I find this bad habit annoying. That is one reason why I do not like this sonata much, although some people do play it well. It is one of those hack pieces, like the F minor. Pianists like that because they can play as loud as possible and show off their techniques.
So you think this is a bad interpretation? Oh my, what a pedantic snob. There is no such thing as one only proper way of playing a piece. Beethoven's notes are important, sure, but they're a suggestion, not a iron clad law. Interpretations can still be emotionally engaging and artfully executed, even masterfully, with no regard for those rhythm notes.
Cmon man, he plays this masterfully, based on his interpretation. Beethoven would have been proud to hear his piece played Claudio's way...
