      @TheAdventureAuto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alessandro Terracciano Did you have any luck? There wasnt anywhere in my system that allowed me to adjust DRLs. I understand it as more of a hardware issue than software. The LED bulbs thtow off the system and you need to trick it with this wiring kit.

    Great video,
    The website description says that LED light output will be same in both DRL and High Beam modes.
    This means that I will be driving with my high beams always on.
    But in your video I can see that you have both functionalities of DRL and High beam.
    Is it due to a LED bulb or the R1 kit can make both DRL and high beams work?
    If the reason is LED bulbs, can you send the link to them, or say the brand?

    • @TheAdventureAuto
      @TheAdventureAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The R1 kit basically routes both lights to run on just one sides connection. It tricks the car into thinking there is enough pull to illuminate them. Each bulb isnt enough by itself because it uses less power than the halogens. So the regular DRL function has both lit up in a more dim mode, and brights send more to make them much brighter like with normal bulbs. I dont have a specific bulb to recommend, but somewhere I made a video on upgrading your car to LEDs where I have a link to a specifoc bulb.

    • @ganjjaam
      @ganjjaam 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAdventureAuto Thanks for the information, I am planning to upgrade the drls to led, and this will help a lot :)

    • @Chadman333
      @Chadman333 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAdventureAuto I'm surprised the led's will light up in DRL mode because they normally need at least 9V to light. So regardless of the resistor tricking the system into applying power it still is only giving 6V and splitting it between two bulbs. So I'm wondering also if the high beams are at full brightness or reduced somewhat as well because of splitting the power between the two bulbs, maybe bringing them down to more like a low beam light?

      +Alex Rojas No problem. I love having such bright LEDs for hi beams as well. One day a car turned their high beams on at me thinking my low beams were the high beams. I flashed my brights and the car immediately turned theirs off and put its tail between its legs and drove off. Now i dont have to lose DRL function to have the brights like that. Best of both worlds.

      Yea I believe they use the same bulb type. If so it would most definitely work.

    Thanks for the great video! Helped me alot in doing exactly the same thing. I just installed the same LED conversions set up on my 3 with the H11s & 9005 you suggested in the other video.
    I do have a question though. I have noticed that in DRL mode the 9005s flicker ever so slightly, its more of a "static" effect if you will when i looked at the beam in my garage up close. In high beam its solid and stead light. Have you noticed this effect on your lights? In the grand scale of things i don't think it matters visually on the road, just wondering if you have seen the same.

      +Anthony Bailey Jr I didnt notice that on mine, but the only time that I have gotten a good look was in my video. When the car is in park or the ebrake is on, the DRLs turn off. How were you able to get yours to stay on?

      I just put the car into reverse and held the brake. By doing this I was able to turn on the DRLs to see how the beam looked. So far i haven't had any issue. Though I am interested to know where you eventually put the resistor. I currently have it stuffed in the open area behind the Highbeam bulb. I cant really think of anywhere else to put it.

      +XxStUnTiN2422xX It doesnt list Mazda. I think the R1 kit shows Lexus. Just get the R1 kit and it will work.

      The Adventure Mazda+ I did both leds but had to switch to hids in the regular headlights because of the projection in the regular head lamps wasn't enough with the leds. If they weren't projection I would've kept the leds in. When I put one led in the DRL/high beams it worked and was bright but when I put the other one in that's when they shut out.

    Did the resistor also have to get flipped around in order for the lights to work or could you just clip it on regularly with the tab?

      I had to flip it around quite a few times before it worked. It was a lot of trial and error. I dont specifically remember which ones ended up using or not using tab.
