HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!
Trevor James.... This is so one of your best videos to date!!! Love that you are guiding these travelers thru your neighborhood!! Oh and Btw... I want... no... I NEED to eat that!!!! :D
can't agree on this, depends on the guests i guess, no offense but these guests were kindah awkward, maybe shy? & not that enthusiastic. i like guests like chuchu and maybe other youtubers more, they seem more professional and entertaining. was a bit painful to watch, but i love all his videos, just being honest here.
I don't know why some people are complaining about the video ! I thought it was interesting and I thought those guests were a nice couple and added to the video. Obviously they might be a bit hesitant when trying new things and also when appearing on camera, but I think it is a good idea to include foreign guests as well as locals in the videos. That is cool as well that the workers at the restaurants have found his videos online !!
this could work really well with airbnb's new experience platform. He could plan the itinerary, book stays at his apartment, all from a single platform.
Hope you enjoy the Chinese street food tour with my guests from America! We ate around 15 meals over the weekend!! Follow my instagram (The Food Ranger) for the photos of all these journeys! I hope you're doing well and eating lots!
Love your vids, literally watch every one of them and been subbed since you had 20k subs. You deserve so much more the content and quality is just amazing.
I've been sub'd since 15k subs or something like that. Really impressed that you've grown so much in such a short amount of time. If I ever go to China, I'll be sure to hit you up :D
Trevor, it is your enthusiasm and people loving personality that makes these wonderful videos on different food tours great! Love how we get to see the cooks and how the food is made. And your explanations about what the food tastes like and the different types of spicy flavors. Good job!
lol gonna be hard i guess, it is my dream as well but never came true as a Chinese myself. Ya know, the country is too big and diverse, meanwhile life is too short and works are too much...
hey Trevor, great video as always. but ill have to be a little picky on this one. I know the guests are guests they don't have the knowledge like you do, but at least, they need to show some passion on the food and explain why do they like/dislike it. On your part you can ask some open questions and guide them to express their opinion instead of watching you ummmmm ohhhhhh the whole time . haha. I hope you don't get offended, I just want this show to be even greater. :)
***** wow you replied. I checked my comment again and found a few typos now it's all fixed. Best luck with your school and don't stress yourself out. Of course we want new video from u everyday but I'm sure u have so many other things to do, so please take it easy, theres no need to rush. Theres a saying in China: good dish is never too late. so we can wait. Lol
bovaiveu again, I'm just being picky. Clearly, the guests didn't show much of emotion in the video and weren't talktive either. It might be the personality or jet lag who knows but I really hope they were a little bit more open.
He kept mentioning chili oil so much that I went out and bought a huge bottle of it. Now I've got this huge bottle of chili oil and no idea what to do with it. LOL
Trevor, your videos have literally been the best I have watched to prepare for China! It's been a while since I've been back but your videos help me to rekindle my language, study, and learn more! My wife and I would love to meet up if you will be in China this December! Thanks again for the amazing food insight, language practice, and travel experience!
Pig ear is so fucking good. Olive oil + garlic + choped cilantro for the 'sauce' just boil the ears a bit, cut them into pieces, pour the sauce (even without it, it's good) and just eat like that or with a bit of toasted bread.
It was absolutely a pleasure watching your videos about eating and searching for delectable food in the world ! Especially some of episodes that you videoed while you were in China ! And I am already homesick for that ! Thank you !
TREVOR- I'm watching your videos now non-stop, as I just had major dental surgery and I'm letting you know your videos are simply THE BEST my friend!!!!!!!! P.S. I could use some of that noodle soup, but I can't eat for 3 days (only protein shake by a straw).
Archangel Michael Ugh, don't remind me. We're Filipinos living in Canada. My mom did business trips in France for her company, and she and my dad (who visited her during the trips) commented on boorishness they experienced in France (also commented on Paris smelling like piss or Ammonia). I remember a professor of mine in university joking about putting the Canadian flag on his bag during a conference in Paris (he's American). He said, "That way, the Parisians will be 20% less obnoxious towards me than normal". My high school also did the exchange program with students from France, and I witnessed said exchange later on as a student teacher (in teachers college); some French kids commented on how nice everyone was in Canada, while I also witnessed some being pretty rude; they can be friendly enough, but their manners sometimes needed to be checked (I recall some of them waltzing into a music room uninvited, and laughing and making fun of students warming up during a choir club meeting).
I am now the ultimate fan of Trevor!!! A genuine joy to watch enjoying local cuisine, friendliness to others, amazing host and perfect Chinese!!!!!! If I go to China I want him guiding me on a food tour!
Trevor, because of you I made my own traditional Sichuan chili oil and then added it to my home made dandan noodles with pork mince and preserved vegetables.
Trevor I know I have said this before but your videos are excellent. I don't know how you don't weigh like 500lbs as much as you eat. You must walk it all off in China. Trevor you should consider doing subtitle in Mandarin for when you speak in English. I think it would really increase your viewership there.
Ive watched these videos for three days now. I have not seen anybody duplicate someones recipe. Every stand has its unique style. Its just amazing the variety of food china has to offer. I have to say. There food looks by far the best in the world.
Trevor every time. Person - "your Chinese is really good" Trevor - "It's so so". Person thinks "Damn, His Chinese is better then my good for nothing son"
I agree but I think those two were more like culturally shocked by the type of stuff people eat. They didn't know how to react, it's like someone is forcing them to eat. Man I wish Ranger was showing me around!
itbeginx I agree. Especially the pig brain dish is really hard for Western people to process. I personally can't process that kind of texture, and I don't think I like eat brain. The thing is if they don't know what they were eating they probably gonna be more accepted to what they put into their mouth
I follow up your each and every video. It gives me goose bumps. I am not there but still I can feel the exact taste through your expression as well as description which you get while having. Hope you come back soon to china and explore abit about vegetarian food. Never stop doing it because not everyone can do the way you are doing. Thanks bro god bless you.
Yea also northern China don't really like spicy taste that much. People in southern China love eating spicy because it's pretty humid there and people raise the habit by eating spicy food to reduce uncomfort
Just found you Trevor and glad I did. What a great job you do. When I watch your videos I can almost feel myself there with you. Amazing mastery of the language as well. That increases the pleasure. I have traveled much of the world over my nearly 70 years and now through your videos I can say I have had a true Chinese experience. I look forward to many more journeys with you.
I'm Chinese and I used to go vegetarian for more than three years and it's not even a problem for me, cuz there tons of thousands of different dishes in Chinese food, you can easily go vegan in China without any problems for sure and eating more than a thousand dishes of vegan Chinese cuisine. Chinese cuisine is more vegan friendly than you ever know. So stop judging any countries without using your brain. Read more and think more, be intelligent people.
One of the best culinary adventures Ive ever seen...very informative & educational and it ALL looked so yummy delicious. Thank You sir! Awesome video...and CUISINE !
Oh good job, I like the direction your show is going, and hope the guests to come also bring a bit of personality to your show to let us get the most of that feeling of, I wish I was there. All the best, and keep feeding our souls.
Man, I was just in Chengdu with my 8 year-old, Katia. She's been learning Mandarin since kindergarden and this was her first trip ever to China. We watched a bunch of your videos beforehand to know where to go and what to eat, but didn't think about touching bases with you there. Then there's the fact she's a vegetarian. I'm Brazilian, so I was in heaven. We'll likely go back next year. If you are still around, I hope we can see you.
I know Sichuan province has a lot of amazing tasty spicy food, but Chinese food is not only limited to Sichuan cuisine. Consider you currently living in Sichuan you will mainly making videos of Sichuan food, but I am really looking forward to see you do more videos of other 7 Chinese major cuisines in future, because the impression I get from your videos is tasty Chinese food=spicy, which is not fair to the rest none-spicy cuisines.
I think Sichuan food is also the most popular in other part of China. You can see Sichuan restaurant everywhere in China from the desert area in China to the east part like Nanjing
Hi Trever, loved your videos! I'm a native ChengDunese and watching your video made realize I've no idea about how much awesome food there is. For that, I salute you, keep up the good work !
Lot of Americans here wanting a reality show experience instead of watching honest normal people reactions and experience. Keep it up mate, we need real people not actors overacting and overreacting the kind of poison that the US has been spreading in form of Kardasians and Duck dynasty..
really awesome to see you letting people do couch surfing as you put it in one of ur videos. just remember be safe but this couple coolioo... thank you for posting
royalbengal101 I like sour tastes but not spicy... I feel if it numbs your tongue or causes pain why eat at all if you can't taste the food? But I understand... People either hate spicy or love it...
Well, not speaking Chinese makes it hard to feel comfortable. That's normal though lol I think China is really a different place from Western society countries.
I'm doing good ! I hope that I'll be able to visite you on a day =) How can we couch surf at your home ? If you ever come by Valencia Spain, you are welcome in my home !
crazy808ish The chili oil is what makes them special. Each chili oil from each different place will taste different. There's a whole process and whole art to making these.
believe me, if you don't like spicy food, don't go to western China, they literally make everything they eat spicy and nothing else. Guangdong cuisine is the most authentic and versatile Chinese food you can taste

can't agree on this, depends on the guests i guess, no offense but these guests were kindah awkward, maybe shy? & not that enthusiastic.
i like guests like chuchu and maybe other youtubers more, they seem more professional and entertaining.
was a bit painful to watch, but i love all his videos, just being honest here.
Agreed. His guests seemed afraid. I myself would have jumped in with both feet.
I love this guy, so humble and nice. he can eat!
I don't know why some people are complaining about the video ! I thought it was interesting and I thought those guests were a nice couple and added to the video. Obviously they might be a bit hesitant when trying new things and also when appearing on camera, but I think it is a good idea to include foreign guests as well as locals in the videos. You're a good host Trevor! you should start a business, Food Rangers Tours. No one goes home with an empty belly.
No-one leaves until they can't feel their mouths anymore.
this could work really well with airbnb's new experience platform. He could plan the itinerary, book stays at his apartment, all from a single platform.
no one goes home until their rectums explode!
Haha. You get to the point so correctly.
start a tour when Airbnb finishes their new guided tour feature! would love to book one with you.
Hope you enjoy the Chinese street food tour with my guests from America! We ate around 15 meals over the weekend!! Follow my instagram (The Food Ranger) for the photos of all these journeys! I hope you're doing well and eating lots!

Trevor, it is your enthusiasm and people loving personality that makes these wonderful videos on different food tours great! Love how we get to see the cooks and how the food is made. And your explanations about what the food tastes like and the different types of spicy flavors. Good job!
If I ever learn Chinese in my lifetime and have alot of money, I'll definitely explore China and try all of this country's food!

hey Trevor, great video as always. but ill have to be a little picky on this one. Its not bad to express an opinion respectfully. I felt the same about the content and have conveyed it to Trevor.
He kept mentioning chili oil so much that I went out and bought a huge bottle of it. Now I've got this huge bottle of chili oil and no idea what to do with it. LOL
EAT FOOD WITH IT LOL
make dumplings and dip them in for taste. or eat with noodles.
OMG!!! Thank you so much! I've been introduced to a whole other culture and as a food lover......Thank you!
Lay the oil on the bread。
The chili oil in Sichuan is totally different
Trevor, your videos have literally been the best I have watched to prepare for China! It's been a while since I've been back but your videos help me to rekindle my language, study, and learn more! Pig ear is so fucking good. Olive oil + garlic + choped cilantro for the 'sauce' just boil the ears a bit, cut them into pieces, pour the sauce (even without it, it's good) and just eat like that or with a bit of toasted bread.
Sichuan government should name you their honorary resident. You truly captured the essence of Sichuan cuisine.
been watching your videos for a month now. your love for food is infectious. thanks for all the hard work!
It was absolutely a pleasure watching your videos about eating and searching for delectable food in the world ! Especially some of episodes that you videoed while you were in China ! And I am already homesick for that ! Thank you !

Shreddah Lots of Canadians are like that, lovely attitude.

I randomly found one of your food videos and literally spent a whole day watching all of your chinese street food adventures, great stuff!
I am now the ultimate fan of Trevor!!! A genuine joy to watch enjoying local cuisine, friendliness to others, amazing host and perfect Chinese!!!!!! If I go to China I want him guiding me on a food tour!
You're such a nice man & host, Trevor. I enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Trevor, because of you I made my own traditional Sichuan chili oil and then added it to my home made dandan noodles with pork mince and preserved vegetables.
wowwwww thats amazing!!
The guests look traumatized.. lol
Chris Wang true lol especially that guy
Chris Wang it's called culture shock! wo ai zhongguo 😊
It's a mixture of culture shock and that some people are just not meant to be on camera.
So true.
Americans are awkward, closed off, naive and yet still think theyre superior to other cultures because they eat Chik Fil A and drive giant SUVs
The best interview formatted programming, with authentic examples of real people and food and environment. Wow, I I were forty years younger.
You seem like a fun guy to be with in a food trip. Great work!
omg I need to go to Sichuan !!!!!!!! great video BTW
Love your high quality videos!
Thanks so much!!
The Food Ranger Trevor! Hi
The Food Ranger Flawless victory Trevor.
Trevor I know I have said this before but your videos are excellent. I don't know how you don't weigh like 500lbs as much as you eat. You must walk it all off in China. Trevor you should consider doing subtitle in Mandarin for when you speak in English. I think it would really increase your viewership there.
I LOVE Szechuan food; the Firewood Chicken, pork dumplings and brown sugar pancakes look delicious
Funny how you had to tell her to kill a whole chicken, because I never knew you could kill just half a chicken. Hahahaha!!
trevor just like spongebob he's just pumped to everything, and his friends just like ''allright''
“It’s so good and tender I love it”
Rating: 7
"It's so good." Eat, repeat.
Ive watched these videos for three days now. I have not seen anybody duplicate someones recipe. Every stand has its unique style. Its just amazing the variety of food china has to offer. I have to say. There food looks by far the best in the world.
im Sooooooo happy that people from other part of this planet can find out the beauty of Chinese food. LOVE all ur video.

Haaaa....
Hmmm...
You should found a tour company. Man you deserve to have millions of dollars.
Subbed to watch your Indian food's playlist but continued to watch your other videos mainly due to your personality! Love your videos!!
Such a good location to taste food in china, in the heart of the country.
Thank for the rating by your guests and you. Another awesome video! Love your guests' comments.
Trevor every time.
Person - "your Chinese is really good"
Trevor - "It's so so".
Person thinks "Damn, His Chinese is better then my good for nothing son"
国家旅游局应该为常乐颁一个大奖
这是我最喜欢的一个外国小哥, 也感谢那些友好的成都人 给他们留下很好的印象。

好看 ^^ good~
Sure wish those two people had more personality to bring to the video, and excitement . lol
Great video.
Austin Paz agree, trever can give them more chance to express their thoughts and feelings
they are guests, not actors for the show
I agree but I think those two were more like culturally shocked by the type of stuff people eat.
Austin Paz
I'm from China, and I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!! Can't wait to go home!!!!!
I should not have smoked before this...
OMG 420 lol me too
OMG 420 same here
I remember being stoned the first time. I ate a bag of chips in less than a minute. I regretted it immediately and never smoked again...
how is that a regret? rofl
A bag of chips? I ate like ten packs of noodles... without... boiling... them...
definitely one of the best channels on youtube
I guess even water in China would have chili oil in it.. Damn!!
Sunil Samson Nadella just the province he's living in. In Guangdong or Hongkong most ppl can't tolerate chilli
cheng zhong Ohh okay. Thanks for clearing that out for me :)
Yea also northern China don't really like spicy taste that much. People in southern China love eating spicy because it's pretty humid there and people raise the habit by eating spicy food to reduce uncomfort
Fiona Ji
@(路尔辰(Erchen Lu) Nice to know such details. Thank You !
路尔辰(Erchen Lu)That's definitely on top of my bucket list bro :)
Awesome episode! Loved your guest that was cool to see.
Keep it up my brother 👍🏽
Just found you Trevor and glad I did. What a great job you do. When I watch your videos I can almost feel myself there with you. Amazing mastery of the language as well. That increases the pleasure. I have traveled much of the world over my nearly 70 years and now through your videos I can say I have had a true Chinese experience. I look forward to many more journeys with you.
Do they use chilly oil for everything?
Goku from the 6ix its sichuan cuisine, so mostly are spicy
No, Sichuan people love chilly oil but not all Chinese like it.
祝奥 do u even understand what I said bro
Leon Yu 你四川的?
Yes indeed they do. if its not dripping in chili oil you are doing it wrong.
so how's it going with the school stuff?
Going really well!

Oh good job, I like the direction your show is going, and hope the guests to come also bring a bit of personality to your show to let us get the most of that feeling of, I wish I was there. All the best, and keep feeding our souls.
I had to pause this video because Mark Weins just showed us his new baby on his channel. But I'm back now!

D4G haha read this and 5.32 am lol
? D4G what do you want to say?
I have been a fan since I saw my first food ranger video :) I now live vicariously through your posts. Keep them coming! PS: hello from Canada!
其实川菜也不是全都是辣的
missbecca Young 重点不是辣不辣的问题,而是其他菜系也需要一定的曝光度。一直是川菜,对于不是很了解中国八大菜系的会造成误会
Zhiyao Tang It is popular, but other Chinese cuisines deserve to be shown in his video
he's got to try shaanxi food. I grew up on it, so maybe there's some bias there, but its freaking amazing.
This was torture....:D, all that food look so yummi
I fucking love all your videos just wish you could show us an alternative to the SPICEY stuff! Keep up the good work and keep me hungry lol
Trevor - I really enjoy your videos! I particularly enjoy your videos with an accomplice like David and Kathy, or Choo Choo. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Ranger for reintroducing peoples into different Foods around the 🌎.
they should try some "ROJAK ROJAK ROJAK ROJAK!!!"
dude you could make a killing giving people tours for vacation, people need a westerner to guide them and youd be perfect
New life goal: learn more english, visit Trevor in China. :-)
Nice man! :D I also would like to do that, good luck! ;)
So glad they enjoyed their stay with you
You are living one of my dreams,I love your videos and I am sharing with my family, keep them coming and thank you.
Chinese people are so friendly
I feel bad for the camera guy. Does he ever eat in the videos?
Trinna Oquialda It's a she. And yes, she eats off camera.
Trinna Oquialda the camera "guy" is his girlfriend. 😜
Trinna Oquialda did you just assume their gender!
She ate a lot every night on the bed
I feel like China wouldn't be the best place for a vegetarian to visit.
right, whole east asia is kind of on the non veg side.
Nazz vegan
Nazz we also have many delicious food that made by vegetables it is very much nice in China
Nazz actually China has the best vegetarian dishes in the world. Its just he didnt try one.
chenran wen
i think vegetarians may starve to death if they visit china without the prior information of vegan eateries.
Man this guy eats anything...brave and knows all the good stuff
Hi Trever, loved your videos! I'm a native ChengDunese and watching your video made realize I've no idea about how much awesome food there is. For that, I salute you, keep up the good work !

Lot of Americans here wanting a reality show experience instead of watching honest normal people reactions and experience. Keep it up mate, we need real people not actors overacting and overreacting the kind of poison that the US has been spreading in form of Kardasians and Duck dynasty..
I got a "hunger" for more TingTing !!
Stephen Mortimer that wasn't creepy at all xD
Sergio Gerard
You can't converse with FoodRanger unless it's in food terms !! :-))
Stephen Mortimer I want more yingying. she's cuter
William Guo
Maybe but 1/2 hour later you want more "satisfying" Ting Ting !!
Haha chu chu is bae
Love the cultures in your videos. Like the way you describe the flavors of foods you taste. Also enjoy when you speak with the chefs
really awesome to see you letting people do couch surfing as you put it in one of ur videos. just remember be safe but this couple coolioo...
thank you for posting
It baffles me how you guys are not shitting blood... So much chilli oil and spicy food...
It's Sichuan! You're forced to eat spicy food there! If you don't , you'll have diarrhea! It has something to do with their water!
Tommy Chen it's almost damn if you do and damn is you don't...
royalbengal101 I like sour tastes but not spicy... I feel if it numbs your tongue or causes pain why eat at all if you can't taste the food? But I understand... People either hate spicy or love it...
The spiciness and numbness just go ground in your mouth not in your stomach. Unless you try really heavy on that.
Your body builds an immunity. I can eat ghost chili raw. I cook with ghost chili oil. You think normal chili oil is spicy? It really is not.
Is the camera man always the same guy? I feel so bad for him he never eats lol
SHE eats off camera
It's Trevor's girlfriend o_o
The camerawoman eats on camera in his most recent video.
The Dee I remember it was a guy before though.
ya, there was a guy. then Ting ting came along
the guests look bored out of their skull..... lets say they were intimidated
I can imagine the culture shock being in a place so different to where they're from, worth it for the food though I'd imagine!
yeah the gutter oil and fake ingredients is worth it
Well, not speaking Chinese makes it hard to feel comfortable. That's normal though lol I think China is really a different place from Western society countries.
Carwyn Stephen Don't know why someone would feel intimated. China is probably the safest place for a foreigner to visit.
ARVIN Exactly! China is a very safe country, especially for overseas tourists.
Really enjoy Experiencing the local markets and street vendors. We have nothing like that in Austin Texas. Keep up the great videos.
I love how much this guy loves food.
Hi Trevor !
How is cooking school ?
Hi Coralie! Going great thanks! How are you doing?
I'm doing good ! I hope that I'll be able to visite you on a day =)
How can we couch surf at your home ?
If you ever come by Valencia Spain, you are welcome in my home !
I'm traveling all the way over there from Houston Texas for the free WiFi #gotyourcode :p
You r my friend hahahaah
You don't get sick of chili oil after all that? Don't they have any other main flavors?
crazy808ish The chili oil is what makes them special. Each chili oil from each different place will taste different. There's a whole process and whole art to making these.
believe me, if you don't like spicy food, don't go to western China, they literally make everything they eat spicy and nothing else. Guangdong cuisine is the most authentic and versatile Chinese food you can taste
OldSchoolLad or Shanghai? And Northeast China?
Its like I've been to China because of your vlogs. It makes me hungry everytime i watch you eating. 😊Thanks Trevor.
She is so sweet following Trevor’s every move.. that’s why they went!
