There it is, designed for a new era of bulk handling - our heavy-duty #allelectric transshipment crane CBG 500 E that operates emission-free and environmentally friendly. The #CBG500E combines the market demands for a reliable #crane with high handling capacity and the approach to make transshipment more sustainable. In addition to the all-electric and efficient drives with more power, a longer reach and zero emissions, it combines stat state-of-the-art inverter technology, power storage and application-specific power management That leads in a powerful drive system with simultaneous reduction of the required energy.
The CBG 500 E combines state-of-the-art drive technologies with our own crane control system "Master V". Together with an even more efficient software architecture, it forms the basis for integrating future assistance and automation systems into the crane in the long term.
Another highlight is the energy recovery system LiCatronic®, which makes optimum use of the energy available. The numerous configurations ensure that the crane is versatile and adaptable to different customer needs.
In addition to the powerful and efficient drives, the whole crane structure is optimised for extraordinary performance. The boom of the CBG 500 E was designed as a lattice boom. This makes it particularly stiff and light, which further improves the turnover performance and at the same time reduces the energy need. The result is a lifting capacity of up to 105t in hook operation. The extension of the cabin and the high positioning ensure that the crane operator has an optimal viewing angle of all processes.

Need one fabrication near slewing bolts out side, if possible make tray for when grease falling down to avoid grease spillage on Crane column and Deck . Thanks 😊

The marketing and the animations always look very nice. In reality, during commissioning of the first crane, it was rejected by the customer. Crane was dismanteled and now runs through a redesign. Let´s see if LH can solve all the issues and the crane finally delivers its promised performance.

At the end it seems like making electric giant cranes is more accessible than trucks or planes, since weight is a big factor, and these cranes don't care much for weight, I think you could even use batteries as counterweights instead of iron pieces, but there's also a big down which is how much does batteries last under such pressure and how much does a battery replacement cost, but those are other factors to take care of in the near future.

Hello Kanin,
Our crane does not have its own energy source, but due to its all-electric drive and the additional supercaps, it is designed to have the lowest possible energy consumption in the category of the crane. Renewable drive technologies can be used as energy sources, which are of course fundamental for an emission-free crane operation.

@@LiebherrGroup Hello Liebherr, The calculation that has to be made is: pollution = the sum of the extraction of materials, the construction of the crane - then the operation, maintenance and replacements. The fuel and/or its storage must also be calculated. Compare this with variants, (also more conservative)! EV-cars are clean, they say!! But when you calculate also the production of the battery and the loadings of the battery (often from a fossil fuel plant) then you you see an other outcome of the calculation. Best regards, Kanin
