Oh my God, Sansa and Tyrion need to be reunited. Both of them have been treated like crap despite being relatively likable people and they make such a cute pair.
That's what I'm saying, this is the show and some characters have been a but altered to be more sympathetic, like Tyrion. This is more based on the actors than anything else I believe. So in the context of the show Tyrion and Sansa are still a cute couple because Peter Dinklage and Sophie Turner make them a cute couple.
@De skape also I don't think so. Sandor is not even a guy that must be united with Sansa. In the book he is no less than an abuser, he felt pity for her yes. But he terrified her all the same. Just because they had some moments does not make them foreshadowed canon. IMHO, Sandor and Sansa is horrible pairing. I ship Tyrion with Sansa in the show, but in the book none of Tyrion & Sandor are ideal men for Sansa. 🤷🏻♀️
Well that was in mutual combat which was a risk fighters took in a tournament. Ordering an execution is a bit more direct. Also he did get a year of war so in a way the axiom held true.
Dontos’ alcoholism is a lot more understandable when you learn his backstory. He was the last surviving member of House Holland after the Mad King had his entire family executed after the Defiance of Duskendale.
I liked it better in the books that The Hound didn’t even bother competing because it was all beneath him. He’d already one the _real_ tournament, the one for Ned, they didn’t even have enough knights to fill out this one.
So I've watched this scene a couple of times already. You have to give her some credit where it is due. With everything that is happening, and what Sansa is seeing, she knows for a fact her life is in danger and she's doing everything she can to keep herself alive. Still can't believe that it's taken me this long to really realize why Sansa nonchalantly said that.
I would love to see what season 7 Sansa would have acted if she was back in that position. Also, I just realized that Sansa was why Sir Dontos had his life spared and later on in season 4 he saves her life.
+svennie pennie You missed the point completely. The lie was about that superstition. Is it an actual superstition that is held or did Sansa make it up to save the man and Sandor supported her lie? So I have no idea what your question is supposed to be about. And yes, you could kill someone if you force to drink enough of anything until their bellies explode.
+jessc1979 Nobody knows wether that's true or not in Westeros, this is the only mention of it. My point was that Joffrey died by drinking poisoned wine.
+jessc1979 it's possible it was a lie but I wouldn't be sure. He never went straight against injustice, even when he didn't like it. When Jeoffrey was having Sansa beated, he just stood there and did nothing. If Jeoffrey had ordered him to beat her, he would have done that, even if he wouldn't like it. If Tyrion didn't arrive, Shansa would have been beaten very very badly that day. Only after Tyrion said he was having none of that and ordered somebody to give Sansa a mantel or something to cover herself, the Hound offered his. He is not in the position to oppose a noble man or a King and it wouldn't be in his nature to do so in any case case, so I wouldn't be sure he lied.
First of all, the stripes are facing the wrong way for the american flag, secondly the stars aren't stars but crowns, and thirdly y'all all talk a bunch of shit but when something big happens who do you look to for guidance? That's right. The U.S.A.
Untrue actually. He's wearing red, pink, gold, and blue. Also even if he was several other places have the exact same colors as America. Examples: France, Russia, Dominican Republic, United Kingdom, Taiwan and Czech Republic.
Besides Tyrions brother Myrcella and Tommen truly loved Tyrion and treated him like family and not like a monster or dwarf. Tyrion was wrong to say Jamie was the only member in his family that didn’t treat him like a monster.
I just realized that the knight Sansa saved was the same one that Lord Baelish had killed the night they escaped. That’s probably when Sansa first knew she couldn’t trust him as the knight already owed Sansa his life!
I think Sansa wasn't really stupid, but she had been groomed to appear dim. That's why she seemed like a slow learner when in fact she was unlearning fake naivete.
The Hound had higher strength and poise than the other bloke. If this were Elden Ring, he would have ended up with a critical hit after breaking his poise, instead the enemy fell off the edge.
I love how Sansa has figured out that the best way to survive Joffrey’s petulance is to tow the “party line” and unsubtly kiss his ass. And how Tyrion picks up on it and grows to respect it.
Sansa had her fair share of child groomers but I'm super glad the show didn't make Ser Dontos one like he was in the books. He was a nice guy who genuinely wanted to help Sansa.

De skape I agreed with you until you said Sansa is going to end up with The Hound. He’s a grown ass man and Sansa is a child
Why do people always have to ship Sansa with old men that abused her
I love the fact that Tyrion bursts of dominance in this scene without even trying😂😂😂
I Love the look in Tyrions eyes when sassa Recited her loyalty to Joffery... "Of course you are"
0:33 that was her one shot at manipulating him the same way Margaery Tyrell did.
The say Tyrion says "of course you are" to Sansa, his eyes and face say "you poor thing, I can see you are terribly broken"
I like that despite how you could easily take it as him being cool, the guards know it's torture time based off of previous commands
I think this is the moment when Sansa starts to become badass. Just small things here and there. All Hail Queen Of The North!
vomits
4:20 I like how The p-Imp implies that Joffrey doesn't do anything except indulge in entertainment.
Tyrion is one of the few people to mock the Hound straight to his face
“It would be bad luck to kill a man on your nameday.”
Glances at the huge puddle of blood.
“A little late for that…”
It was wine
@@roguevlogs4424 they threw a knight over the bridgehe desd
Well that was in mutual combat which was a risk fighters took in a tournament. Ordering an execution is a bit more direct.
Also he did get a year of war so in a way the axiom held true.
Dontos’ alcoholism is a lot more understandable when you learn his backstory. He was the last surviving member of House Holland after the Mad King had his entire family executed after the Defiance of Duskendale.
Strangely, of all the scenes in this series, this one is one I remember the best.
“this one doesn’t like me”
“can’t imagine why” 😂😂
Hound: Isn't it enough that Tommen already has me beat in the looks department?
Tyrion is such a good uncle
I love that opening, probably one of my favorite fight scenes in the show, I'm pretty sure it's the only one with Maces.
The hound has such a great speaking voice!
I just realized that Tyrion reminds me of Dr. House with his jokes, intonations and facial expressions 😎
I would love to see what season 7 Sansa would have acted if she was back in that position.
Also, I just realized that Sansa was why Sir Dontos had his life spared and later on in season 4 he saves her life.
I like that they had a horn with an open end ready, in case anybody wanted to play a drinking game.
It was actually a fairly common funnel. Much cheaper than copper or iron. Horn was the plastic of it's day.
Ser Dontos the Red
Overweight
Foolish
Shows up late to a fight
Has American flag armor
Coincidence?
exactly
SuperFunnyGuy "most Americans aren't overweight..." No that's why America has the highest population of obese people in the world
FoolishInk America isn't even in the top 10 for most obese by population.
I dont think so
@Skip Bayless most Americans aren't smart lol, Americans don't rank the top 10 in mathematics or literacy rate
2:19 Was that Sandor lying to support Sansa because he doesn't like bullies?
+svennie pennie Obviously about that line about "What a man sow's on his name day, he reaps all year." Is that true or did he just make that up?
+jessc1979
Trying to kill a man by making him drink wine, can you think of anyone else who died by drinking wine?
+svennie pennie You missed the point completely. The lie was about that superstition. Is it an actual superstition that is held or did Sansa make it up to save the man and Sandor supported her lie?
So I have no idea what your question is supposed to be about. And yes, you could kill someone if you force to drink enough of anything until their bellies explode.
+jessc1979
Nobody knows wether that's true or not in Westeros, this is the only mention of it.
“We looked for you on the battlefield, but you were nowhere to be fouuuuund…” 😂😂😂
I fucking love Jofferys actor he is the perfect casting for a childish king
"See that he drinks his fill"
*Proceeds to start shoving barrels down this throat*
"Wtf guys I said give him a wine not drown him"
"Beloved nephew" - strikingly richer than that appalling season finale. Lol
Tommen chewing his medieval gum.
shh you caught me
Mastica, it was used since the time of the Ancient Greeks and was also popular with the romans.
I love how Marcella and Tommen love Tyrion. ❤
Some say Lothar Brune the Freerider still stands there to this very day waiting for an opponent.
Sansa is so beautiful and clever here
I love the sounds sandor makes in the Helm.
Asmr....
The growls of a battle-craved beast.
Let’s all agree it was rather well-struck
Back when the show did *gradual*, masterful character development. Moments like this should have kept coming!!
Ser Dontos appears to be wearing the American flag.
A fat drunken fool late to the fight and happy for more wine? Sounds legit.
First of all, the stripes are facing the wrong way for the american flag, secondly the stars aren't stars but crowns, and thirdly y'all all talk a bunch of shit but when something big happens who do you look to for guidance? That's right. The U.S.A.
Troll Master ... We’ll see your country on the podium at the next Olympics. We’ll just have to look down to do so.
Untrue actually. He's wearing red, pink, gold, and blue. Also even if he was several other places have the exact same colors as America.
Examples: France, Russia, Dominican Republic, United Kingdom, Taiwan and Czech Republic.
si e vero
Besides Tyrions brother Myrcella and Tommen truly loved Tyrion and treated him like family and not like a monster or dwarf. Tyrion was wrong to say Jamie was the only member in his family that didn’t treat him like a monster.
Jerry: I thought it was well-struck.
Rick: I DONT GIVE A FUCK WHAT YOU THINK, JERRY!
Joff being the easiest to manipulate character without realising it.
1:31 the hound was used to his masters call, the cruelty, the violence, and the trouble jofferys rule wrought on all
I just realized that the knight Sansa saved was the same one that Lord Baelish had killed the night they escaped. That’s probably when Sansa first knew she couldn’t trust him as the knight already owed Sansa his life!
Beloved nephew!
Then you realise he’s only referring Tommen in here
0:56 .... i just realised thats lothor brune. What a sad short cameo he has
Sansa learning how to play the game of thrones through the adapt-or-die methodology. She played this idiot of a king for the fool he truly was.
anyone else realize at 8 seconds in the hound is shielded with his left hand...and 15 seconds in he is shielded with the right?
I think Sansa wasn't really stupid, but she had been groomed to appear dim. That's why she seemed like a slow learner when in fact she was unlearning fake naivete.
I've got a thing for Tyrion in an armor
The Hound had higher strength and poise than the other bloke. If this were Elden Ring, he would have ended up with a critical hit after breaking his poise, instead the enemy fell off the edge.
04:25 "Yours, my nephew. I'm here to do your job."
Sansa totally saved that dudes life
Yep. And in the books, he does a lot to help her because of it, actually getting a bit of a redemption arc
Tyrion : ...much better looking, this one (The Hound) doesn't like me
Bronn : Can't imagine why
Burn!!!!!!
My best part in this scene..
I wish there was more scenes like this showing how smart Sansa actually was.
Beloved scrip writing, we looked for you in season 8, you were nowhere to be found!
0:59 That is a hammer Robert would be proud of, look at that thing!
I love how Sansa has figured out that the best way to survive Joffrey’s petulance is to tow the “party line” and unsubtly kiss his ass. And how Tyrion picks up on it and grows to respect it.
this is alot of foreshadowing! guess who choked to death on their own bile?! all because of what he did to that guy
I like that he’s smart enough to know that Sansa just saved his life
Sansa had her fair share of child groomers but I'm super glad the show didn't make Ser Dontos one like he was in the books. He was a nice guy who genuinely wanted to help Sansa.
