    22:45 "I think that ethics is the principal of negotiation of conflicts of interest under the conditions of shared purpose
    If you don't share purpose, there is no ethics
    Ethics come out of these shared purposes and ultimately, the shared purposes have to be justified by an aesthetic, by a notion of what the harmonic world looks like
    Without a notion of a sustainable world that you can actually get into by behaving in a certain way, you have no claim to ethics."
    This is so incredibly important and beautiful. Thank you Dr Bach.

    One of the best interviews in my opinion, as not only Joscha is smart here but also the questions he gets.

    The interviewer is very good. She might be doing a better job of keeping up with Joscha than I've ever seen anyone manage

    15:10 to me a machine is a causally stable mechanism that can be described by state transitions, a mathematical construct. So the universe is a machine, and an organism is a machine inside of that machine

    12:20 sentience is the ability of the self to model its environment, and model itself in the environment, and model of relationships of self to the environment

    This is a wonderful video. Thank you.
    Could have done well without the spam of Amin Omar in the comment section, but not all of life is optimal

    19:10 In some sense we all perform Turing tests on each other all the time, to figure out where are you conscious? Where do you show up, where are you real... Where are you just automatic?

    Too bad the interviewer didn't ask how we get to a conscious machine, what would be the first steps etc.

    do not be afraid of being a real human and losing the destructive irrational meanness, because intelligence is more than enough to protect you "for intelligent humans humanity become the pride, it is not weakness at all.
    you will gain a lot of valuable things, trust me.

    both tragic and funny ! thief apes, exactly like apes (not humans!)

  • @aminomar4002
    @aminomar4002 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    to live for only one day as a real human is better than living one thousand years as an ape, there is a big difference (huge difference) trust in me.

    don't be afraid of being human, it is the pride of mankind, loosing irrational meanness is not a loss at all, you have nothing top lose when you become a real human.

    I have noticed that since I was a little child, it is the planet of the apes no doubt (thief apes) "not humans"! unbelievable exactly like apes!

  • @aminomar4002
    @aminomar4002 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    not humans, mentally and psychologically !the thief apes !

  • @aminomar4002
    @aminomar4002 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    but that is really funny, human working hard for the sake of the descendants of the apes while the apes working hard for the sake of their sick imaginary faked world !
    there is no hope of any rapprochement between them (hopeless case and completely different worlds).
