At what point do we have no need for people in the economy any more? Then how are we going to change the economy to account for the fact you can’t punish people for not being in work - since those jobs don’t exist.
It won't work like that.. new industries will pop up. For example, just imagine.. out of 100 people, if 90 people are job less, it creates many more other related industries.. humans pursue many more unimaginable pursuits and ultimately they become new industries.

Companies are slow because it’s very expensive, especially when they are just surviving! Hence someone needs to educate them with this area. So don’t think it’s about being skeptical but rather knowledge of how to and why and what… not fair to expect them to know everything without any introduction of any kind and just expect everyone to change! Where is the revenue going to come from etc?! They have just learned about and managing the internet and computer systems and now they have to change and update plus the cost is high to change any system, etc etc etc!

AGI IS HERE. THIS IS AGI. Those fompanies not saying its AGI are doing it to retain their lead as they keep people asleep, but these eytems are AGI. They may be primitive but they are not regular AI. If you gave todays ai to any leader in the field 10 years ago, they would call it AGI.
Respectfully, I am going to disagree. No doubt if someone from a generation ago woke up today and saw this tech, they would be blown away, but these systems still lack a basic understanding of things that even children know, but can answer more sophisticated questions. So much depends on the definition that one uses for AGI.
@@VijayGurbaxani-UCI It's not perfect but the capabilities used between now and when everyone agrees it's AGI will not change for the majority of people. Even Ben Goertzel says 90% of today's economy could be automated with today's models.
What has AI done except help kids do homework? Show me the achievements. Artificial?…….undoubtedly. Where is the AI that will keep the internet up and running without interruption? Where are all the gains that women got in the 60s-80s? They got TV dinners and dishwashers and microwaves. Show me……..something I can use. I’ve seen nothing of use…..prove me wrong.
Yes, there will be job losses, though in some fields where there are shortages, like doctors, AI will be very helpful. Also, as is often the case, new jobs that we can't even conceive of rn will emerge.
