The day that Peter Cullen no longer voices Prime, will be a sad one as not only would any new films seem bad, but it would mean that the world has lost one of (if not the) best voice actors to live.
We lost a legend last year in Kevin Conroy. He was Batman until his last breath. Even if you think Peter's voice isn't as good as it used to be, appreciate him while he's still around and active.
Exactly! The greats aren’t getting any younger. It gives me chills to still hear the voice! Another is Hamill! I cherish these legends cause you never know how much time any of us have.
Exactly! Never disrespect the guy that said he will take back Scourge's key and then take off his head. He promised to end Scourge and he kept that promise.
Just as James Earl Jones will always be the voice of Darth Vader, Peter Cullen will ALWAYS be the voice of Optimus Prime. Thank you, Mr. Cullen for all that you have given us!
Agreed. But James Earl Jones' performance in Rogue One was iffy at best. They used voice deepfake in the Kenobi show, which sounded perferct - and they still gave James Earl Jones credit, which I totally agree with. I hope the same can be done with other iconic voices such as Peter Cullen's. I know there are other actors who can pull off a pretty good Optimus Prime, but they just don't have that certain timbre in their voice as Cullen.
There's two things that keep Peter coming back: 1. He loves the fans and the fans love him. They petitioned for him to be the voice in 07 and he simply loves them continuing to show him love as the icon 2. Prime is a link to his brother. He tells that story of before he went in for the audition and the influence his brother had on how he approached the role and continues to approach him to this day. I think Peter will be like Kevin Conroy; voicing this character until he passes because he loves this character, working with other actors like Frank Welker and the fans
Mel.blanc played all his characters til he died Clarence Nash voiced donald duck til.he passed In the old days you couldn't replace a voice actor til he or she died June foray voiced granny, magics desksll and rocky tol she passed Don messick voiced all.his characters to he couldn't Alan reed played Fred Flintstone til he died and Henry Corden took over til he passed
@@bannedfreespeechPrime of the cartoons was a good character but I think the best Prime comes from the Cybertron games. He’s so desperate and realizes the gravity of Cybertron’s death as a planet, so he has to be brutal, but at the center of it all, he’s still incredibly caring for his allies, treating every soldier of the Autobots like his own brothers. Not just that but his mid battle banter always expresses regret for having to kill. It’s such an overlooked performance
Judging from the title, I was concerned something bad happened with him, but seeing people disrespect him is really annoying now watching the video through. He's an awesome guy, and if people think they can disrespect him, then they're unworthy of even being Transformers fans. Plus, I also agree how his performance in the Bay films is easily one of their best aspects. If you disagree about my "unworthy of being transformers fans" statement, that is fine, but I'm simply disgusted with those who'd dare disrespect this legend of a voice actor!
Right?! And these same people have the audacity to say you’re not a real transformers fan for not agreeing with their perspective. (Which is usually very homophonic, racist, or some other bs reason no sane person would agree with)
Right?! And these same people have the audacity to say you’re not a real transformers fan for not agreeing with their perspective. (Which is usually very homophonic, racist, or some other bs reason no sane person would agree with)
I just met him yesterday and had him sign my MP Optimus - I talked with him and he is so kind. Hearing him say transform and roll out is unreal, and it's way better than I could have possibly imagined.
Why would people be mad at someone who still works hard to provide quality work and also cares about the fans. He’s an incredible person. Never tell a legend to stop being legend.
Honestly if he wants to retire than he will that's his choice but he enjoys his work as optmus prime and continues forward in whatever new incarnation he's in
Peter Cullen is 82 years old and still remains working actively, but a huge portion of the fanbase, still live in their parent's home and are collecting action figures that man voiced.
Im with sunshine on this one i live on my own and dont use mommy and daddies money for masterpiece figs, work for that shit like a man LOL, as for optimus people need to stop the disrespect, as someone who grew up without a father, prime helped with that.
If you don't have Peter Cullen, you don't have Optimus Prime. He makes Prime the character we all know and love. They could get someone else to voice him, but it wouldn't be Optimus. Something would always be missing.
I saw him in panel and he was absolutely fantastic. He really IS Optimus and resides emotionally with the character. The one thing that stuck out to me is that he never took requests to swear with the Optimus Prime voice because it is not what Optimus would say. He distinctly said that he hated some of the lines he had to read off for the Bay films, specifically, the Ebay line. I am sure that Age of Extinction had some lines tha the was not too fond of either. I respect him so much as a person
God Bless Peter Cullen. This Legend voiced the roll of 1 of the greatest characters ever created in fiction. Optimus was literally a father figure for so many kids. He's brought us so much joy over the years. I hope Mr Cullen voices Prime for the next 10 years and I wish him nothing but health and happiness for the years to come 🙏🙏 💙
Omg this is so true like just his voice as optimus prime he himself has literally carried the tf franchise for 3 decades excluding the 90s so mfs better be giving this man the respect he deserves and his flowers when he eventually passes away cause he's getting much older
True, that talent is hard to find. Especially in a generation range who doubts their own talent and gets easily discouraged to practice and get a great talent.
Hoping Peter gives the thumbs up to ai keeping him alive long after he’s gone instead of getting someone else trying to be him this is the Optimus prime legend ❤
You can tell that Peter had so much fun reading his lines in ROTB, and the change in direction really helped with that. He said those badass lines with such raw power, it was amazing! A lot of people were complaining that his voice sounded off and bad in ROTB, but I actually love how deep and raw his voice sounds in ROTB. Peter's voice has aged rather nicely in my opinion.
Honestly, if he wants to do the role, I'm all for it. He helped create the character of Prime and his performance in RoTB was actually quite fun. I hope he comes back for the sequel and I hope he and Frank Welker get to share the screen together again in said sequel.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Peter three times at various conventions. He is the most humble and thoughtful celebrity I’ve met. He loves the fans and is grateful how we’ve supported him all these years. He created the voice. And I hope he’s with us for many more years. When I was a kid in 80s he was another father figure for me. My father was always there but it was always great to have another positive father figure for me even if it was a cartoon. This past June I lost my father after a long battle with dementia and he would’ve turned 86 yesterday August 26th. My father didn’t retire until the age of 83. He kept working because he enjoyed what he did. So to those who think Peter should retire, piss off. You better hope you can live to that age and still have your health and all of your facilities and do what you enjoy.
Hell, in Bumblebee he says pretty much up front that they wanted him to do a delivery that matched someone who was known for doing a parody of the voice he codified. The voice directors wanted him to literally deliver a shallower imitation of his role.
How anyone could disrespect the voice of an amazing hero, is beyond me. The man doesn't have to keep playing the role, but to the die hard fans, it is more than appreciated that he does. I, as well as many, wish Peter Cullen nothing but happiness and wellness moving forward
@tailed_valor im also pleased with his performance. I didnt see any issue with it. There are just some fans that you can never please for whatever reason
@@TheOptimusprimefansome ppl get an idea of what something is and they think that's just how it should be. Which is fine but don't get mad cuz other's don't see things that way.
Met Mr. Cullen at fan expo a little bit ago. Literally, the sweetest man I’ve ever met in my entire life. He held my hands and thank me for being a fan and my childhood self inside almost cried. He’s always a hero.
I don't think transformers fans understand how lucky we actually are. He could've retired years ago if he wanted to... But we got blessed with the best voice actor in history (In my opinion) and he still continues because he loves it, THAT is dedication to the character and the fans of the series. Do NOT tell this man what to do and what not to do with his life when he's spent more than 40+ years doing the voices of characters we love and adore! Keep going doing what you do peter, don't let people tell you what to do! 💙
@@michaelencinas7855 He is the best one we'll ever have, no one will be able to come remotely close to how perfect he does. They don't need to butcher him while he's still here yk?..
Rise of the Beasts, barring maybe Dark of the Mooon, was probably Cullen's BEST performance. The more gritty, grounded and more intense nature of this 'younger' prime really came to life here. Absolutely stellar performance by Cullen.
The only thing I can say about it, yea he's 82, he's still voice acting though, and still giving us the awesome optimus prime voice, and he can retire whenever he feels like he can't do it anymore. Until then, I will gladly accept any performance he gives us. Much love Peter! Edit: To be honest, I didn't even realize he was that old, he looks like he's maybe 52, not 82! But that just means he aged gracefully!
Not to mention that he was uncomfortable voicing prime during the bayverse where optimus is really craze and bloodthirsty and still continues. Yeah he may be a bit murderous in rotb but i give it a pass since he blames himself from being stranded on earth and that will take a toll on someone knowing your friends is fighting and dying and you cant help them.
@@EvA1_Anahein Well, not the entirety of Bayverse lol! Some of it is good unlike the G1 purists who thinks of a benevolent Prime. If there's one thing the other versions of Transformers did was to give Prime depth especially the FoC and WFC games. Even the idea in AoE of Optimus losing hope was compelling.
@@dadian803 I've never found "hero falls to depression/sorrow/etc" "compelling". The idea that a hero must be broken down I've never found a good thing. Personally, I think the world needs some "pure/true" heroes. Ideals exist for a reason, to give people things to strive for. Heroes can be mortal and not all powerful, but not all heroes should be. Sometimes, it's good to have characters that are just incorruptibly good. And it isn't unrealistic, there ARE Humans in history that have gone through terrible things, but refused to bow to them. Their strength of will and unfailing hope and/or faith maintained them through it and out the other side, and they refused to be jaded or weakened by it, and are generally revered for their strength of will and unfailing goodness. Having heroes that are truly benevolent and don't give in to hopelessness or the like isn't a bad thing, nor is taking such a character and making some version of them that falls (in part or in whole) "compelling" or a positive. The initial form of them was compelling already, and the "fallen" form an imperfect corruption. Being edgy is not inherently "compelling".
Both Peter Cullen and Frank Welker deserve so much respect. The two of them being able to come back to voice these characters in a age where hollywood does change the voice actors but that they lets them stay and Peter is just killing it and is just so amazing.
They're part of the reason why I can't stand when they have "celebrities" doing voices for animated movies. The voiceover community is so overlooked and underrated and they deserve the same respect that on-screen actors get.
@@thomaslake2946 Megatron, Soundwave, Thundercracker, all of Soundwave's casette minicons (Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, Ratbat, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw), Mirage and Galvatron just to name the most prominent.
Words can’t describe how much I love this man. He and Frank have always made my childhood memories. I respect Peter and Frank because of how much they love what they do. They genuinely care about what they make.
There hasn't been 1 bad performance from Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. The man the best and still able to play the part. And he loves it. So let him go as long as he wants and is able.
This man has been Optimus longer than most of these haters have been alive. They have no say in what he can and cannot do. Let this man live his life how he wants to live it.
How anyone can disrespect this man is beyond me. He is so kind and amazing for voicing Prime for so long, even in his 80s! He doesn't have to do this, but he does it anyway.
Peter Cullen is simply irreplaceable. He makes Optimus Prime the character we all love. The Rise of the Beasts movie was not the best movie, but it was so much better with Peter Cullen behind the voice of Prime. Another thing is that Peter Cullen has been voicing Prime for a hot minute now and the fact that he loves it so much that he is willing to do to for as long as possible is simply amazing. It takes true skill and special care to take words off a script and build a character that we all love. He truly gives Optimus Prime that certain touch.
82 years old... too old to be a politician. Not too old to have fun being a voice actor. He's not gonna live forever, let him cook. He's earned it by being the best person for the job and having an iconic voice.
Whether or not Peter retires is his choice and his choice alone. If he wants to continue voicing Optimus then we should not only respect that but encourage it!! It’s remarkable that his passion for this franchise still runs strong. When Peter does pass on, the world is going to feel it. So instead of questioning his passion and work, enjoy Papa Prime while you can ❤️💙
If anyone sees this and has a story to share about a time they’ve met Peter, please do!! I love reading about wholesome interactions with him and I think now would be a great time for others to read them too :)
^^^Adding onto this- Meeting Peter in person is surreal. When I first entered the signing room and glanced at him, my immediate thought was “He’s _glowing_ !” His eyes were so bright and just full of life as he was greeting each fan in line. He looked so happy to be there. I saw someone right before me hug him and I knew I had to ask for the same. The hug I received from him was so comforting. In that moment I couldn’t help but tell him “Meeting you took a little energon and a lot of luck. Thank you for everything you do.” It really did take a lot for me to see him. I flied alone to the other side of the U.S. for the first time in my life to get to the convention. It was nerve-wracking but I don’t regret any of it. I hope Galaxycon starts having virtual meet and greets again so others can get the chance to speak to him!
I adore this man. I met him at fanexpo boston last week, and he was so sweet, so precious, and I will die fighting for him. The fact this video even has to exist to begin with, the fact he has to fight to continue to fill the role, pisses me off so much. Peter Cullen is not only a national treasure, but also an absolute gem, and so invaluable to Transformers. And it will be a tragic day when we do finally lose him, but I pray that's many more years from now.
I met him at GalaxyCon Raleigh this year and it was one of the greatest moment and honors of my life to meet such a legend who has been such a huge part of my childhood and life
I met the guy heard his voice face to face and it gave me goosebumps and that was last year. I’ll always be here for Peter just as he’s always here for us.
Peter Cullen is legit one of the best part of the TF movies. They, along with TFP, RiD15, and G1 wouldn't even be as impactful as they are without his performance!
Peter Cullen and Frank Welker hold one of the longest friendships in their careers. It a shame that fan’s can’t associate themselves with that level of respect
The people who dare tell this man to retire because you didnt like ONE of his performances, this man has been voicing Prime since before we were born. HE is Optimus Prime, HE is not replaceable, HE has done literally NO wrong in his career and has been as loyal to the fans as the fans have been loyal to him. He made this character shine and breathed life into a legendary pop culture icon without your help because again, we werent born yet. Humble your opinion before you share it. As for the ones who were old enough to remember the start of his career, shame on you too. Dont expect perfection every time especially from an 80 year old man. That thing you used to be really good at when you were 20? Do it again when you hit 80 and make sure its perfect.
I met Peter Cullen at the Boston Fan Expo this year, and he is so nice. And you can really see how much he loves his fans and loves what he does. I don't care how old he gets, he will always be Optimus Prime. And I honestly believe that he will continue to voice Optimus Prime until the end of his days.
I could definitely tell Peter Cullens age was starting to catch up to him in Rise of the beast but as long as he’s alive he’ll always be Optimus prime. His voice is the definition of an Angel.
Honestly, I weirdly like his recent Optimus voice more than his original portrayal. It really has that 'old, stalwart fatherly soldier' vibe that defines the classic interpretations of Optimus. He's seen a lot of battle, and he's by no means young, but he still keeps fighting because it's not about what's easy, it's about what's right.
The fact he’s 82 and is still acting, tells me he still has a few more years in him voicing Optimus. Frank Welker is 77 and still sounds like Fred from 50 years ago.
I can't imagine thinking Peter Cullen shouldn't voice Optimus Prime. He has one of the most icionic voices I have ever heard. And to me he is essential for this character. His voice is perfect for a character like Optimus Prime. He sounds exactly what I would expecet like from the way Optimus looks and his personality as a father figure and a leader.
Seeing Peter crying about Prime in The Bumblebee Movie made me so sad and people probably think that’s just stupid. But this is a huge part of his life. Prime and Cullen are basically gonna be together forever
When he talks about how he got the role for Optimus and retelling exactly what his brother said, it still feels so loving and preserving of a voice for what feels like more of a person than we can be. And I bet this is because Peter said he wasn't going to voice for TV shows anymore. Like good fuck.
I still remember watching the first "Bayformers" movie in 2007, and Peter Cullen's opening narration made me feel like a kid again. No matter how bad the prior live action films were, Peter Cullen was always their saving grace as he is the one link between them, and the '84 cartoon. If Cullen CAN, and DOES want to continue voicing the character...then by god, let the man do it. It's certainly his right for how he contributed to Optimus Prime's success and popularity.
Peter Cullen deserves major respect!!!!!! He chooses to voice the characters he plays, and there's no one who voices Optimus better than him, I will always respect Peter Cullen, he deserves it!!!!
gary chalk isnt half bad. he was my first introduction to a character named optimus. i wasnt old enough or even around for G1, so i got my start with transformers through beast wars. and grew up on the cybertron trilogy. so to me, gary chalk is the voice i grew up with. he's very much up there with peter cullen
I couldn't believe some people where calling for his retirement. Cullen is an absolute blessing and it's amazing he's graced the character of Optimus Prime for so long. I hope he can do it forever.
Late to this video, but it popped on my feed. As someone who is part of tfcon staff who has directly been in contact with Peter Cullen, hes a fantastic man with great enthusiasm and charisma. He loves his fans and the transformers family and will do so for the entirety of his life. ( also my dad voiced rhinox in beast wars if you're ever interested in sitting down with him )
I met Peter Cullen at a fan expo convention and he was such a sweet soul. I walked up to him for a photo op and had my favorite Optimus Prime toy from my childhood to use for the picture. He insisted he could hold it for the photo and it resulted in a really cool photo. Later on I walked to his booth to tell him how great he was. And he loved the photo we took and then told me a neat story. Before I fully left the booth, I turned to him and said “One Shall Stand” and he responded in his Optimus Prime voice “One Shall Fall” This man loves his fans, he loves his work, and he deserves the best.
For a second I honestly thought he just passed away and my heart was about to shatter. Thank Christ thats not the case🙏🏾😌 Regarding this specific topic of discussion I thoroughly believe with or without Peter Cullen the franchise should carry on and Peter Cullen will always be a part of this franchise whether he choses to retire or not. Hes literally shaped the childhoods of countless different generations, which is nothing short of a phenomenal achievement
Peter Cullens voice is my childhood !! I grew up in the 80’s and Optimus Prime was my childhood hero !! Such an iconic voice and Frank Welker as well !! Cherish these iconic voices because once there gone, there gone😢 “Till all are one”
Peter Cullen IS and WILL always be Optimus Prime to me, he has the voice that most try to capture and though some try don’t perfect it as well as he does. It’s his decision to retire, whether he wants to or not. The man is a treasure and must be treated as such and respect to Peter Cullen for sticking with this Franchise for almost 40 years, you and along with your brother Larry have made this character an Icon that we all can look up too.
Great video, I didn´t even consider that people could be unsatisfied by Peter Cullens performance in RotB... I watched the OV because of him. He´s always amazing and I think knowing that a character is played or voiced by someone to whom the character also means alot is a great base and his performance was always great. Optimus varies from continuety to continuety so varying the way he presents himself via voice is a nice touch
I think Peter Cullen did amazing with the material he was given for Rise of The Beasts. It is not his fault that seemingly no one knows how to write a movie anymore. His voice still has the energy as it did 40 years ago, he just needs the right plot and script to make the movie better
I agree. When it comes to endings of movies lately, it’s like the writers just gave up. The movie starts out promising but it’s slot if build up that leads to nowhere. I’ve noticed this in a lot of movies of late.
Peter Cullen is a treasure. I had the pleasure to meet him earlier this month, and he was so kind! The fact people and a certain TH-camr are saying he should retire is bullshit. He does a STELLAR job, and he’ll stop when he wants to. And with the connection the character has with his brother too??? Peter Cullen will forever be THE voice of Optimus Prime!
Frank and Peter are THE VOICES of Transformers. Without them, Its not Transformers. I can't thank both of them for ALL their hard work!!!! Hope they both keep going!!!
Had me in tears when you started talking about how your mom was happy to hear the same voice for so long. I’m 23 but I’ve been watching transformers since I can remember, gen 1 will always have a special place in my heart. G-d bless Peter Cullen
He is truly incredible. I love his performances! We don't deserve him, he truly is incredible. He's definitely worthy of being a Prime! Respect Peter Cullen!
Peter Cullen is like a hero to me. Voiced my personal favorite character in all of fiction and the gesture of him being saved as a big reveal for the upcoming season of invincible and the reactions to seeing his name in the trailer warms my heart to no end. If the man wants to continue after giving us 50+ amazing years of showcasing his talents, I say let him.
Peter Cullen has gotten older, and his voice has matured, but I think that's ideal for the character of Optimus Prime. Prime is the leader of the Autobots, of course, but he's also been the 5-star general in a war where he's seen his friends and comrades killed and his world destroyed. Each time he goes into battle, he knows that many of his soldiers will die, including young warriors who'd be comparable to human soldiers in their teens or early 20s. His decisions will ultimately determine whether a battle will be successful. He's war-weary. He's tired. He's got to lead his troops with an optimism for the future when in secret he sometimes doubts if there will even be a future. The weight of two worlds, Cybertron and Earth, sits on his shoulders. Given those factors, Peter Cullen's more matured and more nuanced voice acting is perfect. I'm commenting upon this less than one week before Transformers One is released. Just as Peter Cullen's voice is perfect for an older Optimus Prime, his voice would not fit Orion Pax / young Optimus Prime well. That new Optimus Prime is still thoughtful and responsible, yet has no idea of what nightmares he'll face. Chris Hemsworth voices that movie's Optimus Prime, and it's been said that he consulted with Peter Cullen to get tips on how to voice Optimus while not copying Peter's style.
There's no one that could voice Optimus better than Peter and that makes Mr. Cullen just as legendary, if not more so than Optimus. Thank you for all your hard work Peter.
As a 45 year old lifetime Transformers fan. I will always want Peter Cullen to do Prime as long as he wants to. I've been watching him in shows since Voltron and Transformers came out in 1984. I cried when Prime died in the 86 movie. I love it when he gets to voice Prime. And I always will. The people who are complaining. Are not fans. Real fans would support Peter til he is done.
Gah Lee, he looks good for 82 years old! He seems such a genuine and caring soul! His voice for Optimus is literally based on his brother! He deserves only the upmost respect
Peter's delivery in this movie was top tier. I still get goosebumps hearing Optimus say "I'll show you the real power of a prime!" I feel like Peter has really refined that voice especially over the last 16 years.
When I was younger, I went though a lot of dark days where I was scared of what each moment would bring. Its thanks to Peter cullen voicing Optimus over these years and the words he said that kept me on track and made me take those bad memories and experiences, all those cuts and bruises, and turn them into a driving force to make myself better and protect the people closest to me. So I will always respect the amazing work Peter has put into voiceing my personal hero.
Thank you for this video. Peter Cullen is literally the reason why the Michael Bay movies are even watchable. At some point in time, we will have to learn how to live with a new voice for prime, but i am super happy to hear him as long as he wants it to do.
I think there are plenty of supremely talented VAs who can and have done an amazing job voicing Optimus Prime (particular shout out to David Kaye and Allen Tudyk) but Cullen no one will ever replace Peter Cullen, ever

Peter Cullen was a positive male role model for me. I came from a really rough family. My bio parents are both narcissists. Between Peter's voice and the writing on that show, they gave me a father figure to look up to, a moral compass to follow, what it means to be a man, what it means to be compassionate, and what it means to be fair. And even when you falter, there a path to redemption through humility and self-sacrifice. I think if you ask other Genx folks, I'm sure you'll hear some similarities.
We should all be so grateful that the Legend isn't just performing the role but Enthusiastic about his role and should even more appreciate the time we do have Cullen left!

I'm German and I started to watch the movies in English just because of Peter Cullens voice. I only saw some English clips of RotB until know, because the movie came out digital this week in Germany. But every line was perfectly delivered. I will watch the full movie in English too, just because of him. Even if I didn't grew up with his voice, he is like a father figure for me. And I really start to tear up hearing that some people are mad at him, because they didn't liked the movie. This man did so much for us and these people don't understand this.

If you don't have Peter Cullen, you don't have Optimus Prime. He makes Prime the character we all know and love. They could get someone else to voice him, but it wouldn't be Optimus. Something would always be missing.
The only prime he wouldn't make is animated, he can make animated ultra magnus

Meeting Peter Cullen will forever be a core happiest memory for me. He doesn't just voice Prime.
He IS Optimus Prime.
He is the one voice actor I want to meet while I still have a chance to
Yea he is pretty awesome
I saw him in panel and he was absolutely fantastic. He really IS Optimus and resides emotionally with the character. The one thing that stuck out to me is that he never took requests to swear with the Optimus Prime voice because it is not what Optimus would say. He distinctly said that he hated some of the lines he had to read off for the Bay films, specifically, the Ebay line. I am sure that Age of Extinction had some lines tha the was not too fond of either. I respect him so much as a person
@@alexthibodeau979Exactly, he would never sully the character’s reputation, far too noble and dignified a voice for that.

There’s no one who can voice Optimus like Peter. I hope we as fans can enjoy his performances for a long time.
True, that talent is hard to find. Especially in a generation range who doubts their own talent and gets easily discouraged to practice and get a great talent.
He basically is that character.

Hoping Peter gives the thumbs up to ai keeping him alive long after he’s gone instead of getting someone else trying to be him this is the Optimus prime legend ❤
Chris Hemsworth did surprisingly well In one
Loved Cullen's work in Rise of the Beasts. The "take off his head" and "time to show the real power of the Prime" give me chills.
Not to mention, “I can think of no better place to bury you!”
Hell yes
"I wll end you, Scourge, that is a promise"
"This belongs to a friend of mine!"

He’s literally reading the lines they wrote for him. He’s an absolute legend and so iconic. His voice will give you chills everytime you hear it.
Hell, in Bumblebee he says pretty much up front that they wanted him to do a delivery that matched someone who was known for doing a parody of the voice he codified.

Im hoping Peter trains a succesor at some point. Sadly he cant live forever.

Well, not the entirety of Bayverse lol!
I know. He aged really, really well.

I saw someone right before me hug him and I knew I had to ask for the same. The hug I received from him was so comforting. In that moment I couldn’t help but tell him “Meeting you took a little energon and a lot of luck. Thank you for everything you do.”
It really did take a lot for me to see him.

Any Transformers "fan" who says Cullen should retire has no place saying they are a fan at all. Whether he does or not, it's up to HIM.
Peter Cullen is legit one of the best part of the TF movies. They, along with TFP, RiD15, and G1 wouldn't even be as impactful as they are without his performance!
I really dislike how RiD15 is supposed to be the sequel to TFP, but that’s obviously nothing to do with our king Peter Cullen ❤️
Peter Cullen and Frank Welker hold one of the longest friendships in their careers. It a shame that fan’s can’t associate themselves with that level of respect
I had no idea these so called “fans” existed. The thought never even occurred to me about Peter retiring.
simple, cause they can't give anything.
And I honestly believe that he will continue to voice Optimus Prime until the end of his days.
i dont know how i would handle meeting him, to be honest. im pretty sure id break down in tears like a little kid,
I could definitely tell Peter Cullens age was starting to catch up to him in Rise of the beast but as long as he’s alive he’ll always be Optimus prime.
And his reprise of Megatron in TFP was pretty good, too.
This dude has been the voice in peoples childhood’s from the 80s to bloody 2023. You gotta respect that
The fact that this fantastic and awesome man gets this sort of disrespect is just beyond criminal! May God bless this man, he deserves the very best!
When he talks about how he got the role for Optimus and retelling exactly what his brother said, it still feels so loving and preserving of a voice for what feels like more of a person than we can be.
And I bet this is because Peter said he wasn't going to voice for TV shows anymore. Like good fuck.

And he loved the photo we took and then told me a neat story. Before I fully left the booth, I turned to him and said “One Shall Stand” and he responded in his Optimus Prime voice “One Shall Fall” This man loves his fans, he loves his work, and he deserves the best.

Peter Cullen is a great voice actor and a great man. He and the character of Optimus deserve more respect.
“We can’t imagine anyone else being Optimus”-Michael Bay
Thank you for this video. Peter Cullen is literally the reason why the Michael Bay movies are even watchable. At some point in time, we will have to learn how to live with a new voice for prime, but i am super happy to hear him as long as he wants it to do.
I think there are plenty of supremely talented VAs who can and have done an amazing job voicing Optimus Prime (particular shout out to David Kaye and Allen Tudyk) but Cullen no one will ever replace Peter Cullen, ever
Oi, in this house, we also pay respects to Gary Chalk.
@@brianwalsh1339 I was trying to highlight more recent takes on the role but;
A. You're absolutely correct Gary Chalk is the goat
2. David Kaye and Gary Chalk are basically contemporaries so really I'm not sure what I'm getting at
If People saw Peter cullens prime like a father figure, Gary chalks prime is that awesome uncle who comes over and takes you on an adventure.
@@optimus304Yea, Chalk does the parts that Cullen’s is too straight-laced & noble to do.
We should all be so grateful that the Legend isn't just performing the role but Enthusiastic about his role
and should even more appreciate the time we do have Cullen left!
He's 82 and he's still voice acting and it's amazing!!
Keep up the work Peter 👍
Peter is THE Goat , hes more than just the voice, his heart is in it, he understands Prime. he understands the fans. he understands what it means to carry the Matrix. That is RARE and im eternally grateful for all the awesome memories and quotes he's given us over the years. here's to many more years for our guy
Peter Cullen is amazing and he cares so much about this franchise and the fans, and he’s the perfect Optimus prime.
He's doing what he enjoys and it's not our place to tell him to stop. I hope he continues to voice the character for the new movie series. Thank you Peter Cullen for inspiring so many people and voicing such an iconic character, and thank you comodin for making great videos.
Just like you I can't believe peter cullen is 82, he still has an aura as if he's 20 or 30 and as a voice actor in training I always look up to peter cullen for doing this so long and loving every second of it
I'm German and I started to watch the movies in English just because of Peter Cullens voice. This man is blessed by Primus himself and I hope he can and will speak Optimus as long as his body allows him to. I could go on writing, but I think my point is clear.
Primus is not real lmao
It's an amazing movie don't let people ruin it.
@@naseemwaja8735is that all u got from the text 😭
Couldn’t have said it better
You are as German as Megatron turning into a Wather p-38.
This man was part of a lot of people’s childhood. This man MUST be protect at all costs. ‘Til All are One.
'Til All are One.
'Til All are One.
Listen, I met Mr Cullen in December of 2023. Nicest man I ever met, Optimus Prime was my hero after my father. I'll go to war for this man!
Peter cullen is a goat his legacy will burn bright and those fans who say he needs to retire just because of his performance in rotb is ridiculous
I was born 1 year before this man took on this role... what a legend. He's never disappointed. He and Frank Welker are irreplaceable. Your mum sounds pretty awesome, too.
