The part of this I don't get - are the people (gamers) who stand up for these consulting agencies and 'woke' changes. I believe Art is supposed to reflect human nature and the state of the society that it's been born into, whatever that Art may be. By intentionally creating art with the goal of influencing the cultural narrative (through DEI consultants telling game developers and artists, how to create their art - so as best to affect the greater cultural narrative at large) you lose an intrinsic principle of art - instead of leaving the interpretation to the viewer, you're directing the narrative throughout the entire affair. This is why these 'woke' games feel so dishonest and un-fun to play. This isn't an organic reflection of the cultural state, appealing to the things we find fun, exciting and engaging and interweaving those to create a memorable experience, instead its making sure to hit certain notes that they WANT to be a part of the cultural narrative. Who is fighting for this? Who thinks that a corporate manipulation of an Artistic medium is the best thing for the medium?
